Our high school Band from 1966 - '67. This video had no sound originally and I don't know what songs we were playing during the filming. Part was filmed at Starlight Ballroom in 1966 where Bob Kuban (famous for the song "The Cheater") played every Sunday Night for years. The other part was at Jim Metcalf, the drummer's house for a party in the Summer of '67.There was generic music added to it w...

Brogues 1966 Kind Of A Drag and Run For Your Life
Переглядів 1386 років тому
The Brogues was our first band and we were still learning our instruments and learning songs by ear off of scratchy vinyl records. This is from one of those early practices from 1966 in our drummer's parent's laundry room. Raw and flawed as it may be but great memories.

Billy Peek from St. Louis, MO. was a protege of Chuck Berry. Chuck took Billy on the road with him and Rod Stewart saw him on the "Rock Concert" television show with Chuck Berry in 1975 and hired Billy to play in his band. Billy played multiple world tours with Rod Stewart and is most famously featured playing lead guitar and "Duck Walking" down the railroad tracks in the Rod Stewart video for "Hot Legs". For more info on Billy Peek visit his website billypeek.com/?page_id=11 Billy is still performing in the St. Louis, MO area. (I am the bass player in Billy's current band.)
He lives and performs live around St. Louis. At one time, he played with Chuck Berry and Rod Stewart.

Thanks Chuck, for the gift of your music. Good times, & good memories. Found a baby snapping turtle the other day, & immediately thought of you. :-D RIP.
Billy, a talent of his own. Spent many Saturday nights frequenting the Grizzly Bear Soulard enjoying him in my twenty-somethins' 😎❤️😎
Saw him too at the Grizzly Bear in Soulard a few times! He puts on a great show!!
We own the house next to the grizzly bear my parent have told me many stories about billy playing there and I still go see him play to this day
Wow! What a treat to see my old pardner again!
RIP Mr Rock n roll
Wow. I videotaped Glyn Archer (and maybe this same band) in Bonne Terre some time in the 1980's, specifically for the song, "Break the Ice". Just dug up the original footage, but no longer have a 3/4" machine to check it. Fun to see this.
You may be the one who recorded this ! Glyn was promoting his "Break the Ice" song at the time. I remember it was done with a hand-held video camera and then copies were made for the band. But I thought Glyn would not allow the person recording to record any of his originals. Only the cover songs we did. So I'm not sure if this is the one you did. I was the bass player in Allderaan...Ozzie
