Again, this is the most beautiful rendition of this Pucell Song by Andrew Dalton! My soul "melts" when I listen to how he uses the word " Die/ Dying. Absolutely magnificent - what a tremendous. artist, I am solely sad, I was never able to hear him "life" on stage or in concert. My comments are made with 100% sincerity. As a professional singer( I was a lyric tenor - please note NOT a countertenor) His voice, was simply magnificent- he is wonderful and has my greatest respect and thanks

Dal "Pastor Regio", 1640 (prima rappresentazione Bologna, 1641)

Ce qui est remarquable dans la troisième partie de cet air c'est la façon dont la musique illustre les paroles : à trois reprises une des voix tient la note tandis que la seconde fait des vocalises "autour" de la première. Puis à la fin elles font des vocalises en parallèle s'enroulant en quelque sorte l'une autour de l'autre. Or les paroles disent "O mon amour entoure mon coeur de chaines immortelles". Une construction totalement baroque puisque cette époque a adoré, en sculpture et en peinture, le thème de la colonne torsadée!

J'ai découvert A. Deller et J. Bowman à l'université. J'apprécie beaucoup ces 2 grands interprètes notamment J.Bowman et E. Kirby interpretant un superbe Stabat Mater . Douceur, fluidité, amplitude ...tel est le souvenir que je garderai toujours de la voix de ce grand monsieur. L'homme semble sympathique et souriant, ce qui ajoute à sa séduction musicale.

Superbe duo de très grands contretenors, magnifique musique. J. Bowman vient hélas de nous quitter. Merci pour ce superbe morceau.

Beautiful song, beautifully sung

Great singing but this aria was written for a tenor and is suited to a strong male voice I understand why Emma Kirkby wants to sing this aria because it is so great but-----it smacks of a female take over.
