GRS Super Joystick –Configuration guide for IKARI(Windows MAME 0.243) with Keystroke mode
In this tutorial, we walk you through setting up the GRS Super Joystick in its keyboard mode and configuring it for an optimal gaming experience in MAME-2010 emulator games, specifically for IKARI WARRIOR. We commence by switching the joystick to keyboard mode, indicated by the green light. Using IKARI WARRIOR as our example, we delve into the MAME menu, selecting 'Input (this machine)'. Configuration begins with the basics-joystick's up, down, left, right, buttons 1 & 2. Just finished building this 😊 not tried it on pc yet so 🤞🤞 My only bits of feedback so far would be to do the wiring before the the joystick as its a really tight squeeze usung the box as the control panel. I would say the box could do with being a little wider not much though, its just a bit tight when trying to plug in connectors.

Can you please tell me how to do solution 1 ? Solution 2 does not work on my retroarch I think there are different versions on retropie and they behave differently I really need to fix that as it messes with alot of games
Are you using MAME2010? This tutorial is based on MAME 2010. If you're using MAME 2003, the process will be different.
yes it just doesnt recognize hat for some reason, I think some of these images are older n glitchy . I tested in Batocera and works much better @@thunderstickstudio6239

thanks for this, I am also looking for more information on compatible enclosures - if I can use JLF style panel mounts, if there is a recommendation for what are good compatible options, because there are some nice enclosures out there but I just want to make sure I get the correct one.

im on MAME, playing heavy barrel and ikari warriors. the character doesn't rotate when rotating the knob. help

Well i own 1 and the bolts are not a issue it is how small is the box the bottom of the left corner is annoying and the spinning thing is not accurate.

It would be helpful if you could add additional explanations of which "mode", "way" and MAME game input settings to use with various games, like Ikari Warriors. I just received my 2 sticks yesterday and have been having difficulty determining which mode/way and input settings to use in MAME.

Looks like you re-use the packaging as an enclosure for the joystick. Is it made out of cardboard? EDIT: Appears to be cardboard and makes sense at this price point.

That is a very good point. From what I can tell the original cabs did not have any bolts surrounding the joystick. I did find an arcade cab for sale online with identical bolts surrounding the joystick, though it was a conversion kit.
