I like to build things with stuff I can get for free or cheap, that are typically not made to work together (Repurpose Things). This is what I call "Poor Boy Fabrication". I also want others to do the same, and to get ideas and inspiration from these videos.

I got the Mini Semi Toy Hauler in the garage for some maintenance and changes.
These videos are meant to give you ideas and inspiration to work on your own projects. This is my hobby and I am not a professional welder or fabricator. There are probably better parts and better ways of doing things, but I use the parts and tools that I have already or can get cheaply

Back working on the loader. Still working the bugs out on this thing, but that is what happens when you build something not proven and tested, you have to do the proving and testing yourself. The loader has been generally doing great, but always seems to be something that needs improvement. Thanks For Watching! Special Frame And Front End Fabrication
Great build. As you said earlier loaders aren't realy made for digging. If you add teeth to the cutting edge of your bucket it will dig much better, including into loose piles. I have used a slip/bolt-on edge (like add-on forks) on a tractor and it made a huge difference.
Yes, I have put an 1/8" edge piece on the bucket and it cuts in the dirt better than the 1/4" edge of the bucket, and I can replace it if it wears down . I don't plan on doing muck more digging with it but you never know.
Dangerous to drive with the bucket so high in the air.
The one time in the video I had it raised high there was nothing in the bucket. I had a chain hooked to it pulling the aerator so I don't know what you are referring to.
@@kevinscreations4486I was most concerned when pulling the trailer across the yard.
@@cliffwendy3765 All of the weight was at the bottom of the tractor and again the bucket was empty. Thanks for your concern.
Happy New Year from Canada 🇨🇦 SK enjoy your day keep it up 😊🎉
@521farmer to you also. Thanks
I just found your channel and subscribed. I like tinkering on stuff to .
@GarysEagle thanks, that's what I love to do also, tinker with stuff. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
Why do you have the cylinder attached at the end of a long lever? Pull that cylinder up against your cross piece. Then you won’t be multiplying the amount of force with that lever!
Yes, I may do some modifications at some point but for now it is working great. Thanks for watching.
I was about to say the same, you may need to recalculate the forces involved, try to reduce them, spread them on bigger surface and reinforce or increase the thickness of the cross bar
Most of the things that I build are just me tinkering in my shop. I am by no means an engineer, and enjoy working by trial and error, seeing what works and modifying what doesn't. I learn as I go. Thank you for watching and for your input.
@@kevinscreations4486 I like your videos and your good work. Trials and errors are the best teachers.
Where did you get the right angle gearbox and how do you keep the belt tight?
The gearbox was already on it when I got the tractor. I don't know what it is. There might be a label on the bottom side where it mounts, but I have not had it off to see if it does. If I tear in to it again I will be sure and look and let you know.
I had to build three belt tensioners before I got one heavy duty enough to keep it tight.
If you search Right angle gear box with 1:1 ratio keyed shafts 1" dia at Oneclickwarehousedotnet and also Browning 3HB1-SF10 1:1 ST Bevel gear box at DSJLIQUIDATIONS

Yes, It would have been nice to have digging this dirt. I have an idea for some, just haven't gotten to that yet.
Please ditch the music
All of it, or just one of them?
Video proof Kevin don't drive so good and has bad taste in music. Good attachment though.
@JustHere999dl what's wrong with my driving? And yes, I'm not using that music anymore.
@@JustHere999dl try putting that much weight on the front of a garden tractor and see how hard it steers. You have to make short turns. I plan on going with either hydraulic steering or a have a steering setup from a golf cart i may try first. Thanks for watching!
@@kevinscreations4486 Yeah counterweight on the back would counter some of the steering problems.
@JustHere999dl yes I have added about 200 lbs since this video.

Great song Kevin.
Thanks John
Great job! ive started my loader project. im using an exmark quest z turn going hydraulic. what are your bucket dimensions, metal thickness and pump specs im going with a 1cylinder per bucket and 1for boom set up. i really appreciate your posts your help would be wonderful. thankyou ahead of time.
My pump is a Swisher brand 11GPM, my bucket is whatever the tank was that I used with is 42 wide and 20 tall. metal thickness is 1/8" or a little less. Thanks for watching!
Nice job ole buddy nice job
Thanks 👍
Cool yes Sir
Thank You!
Aw man... I thought it was connected to kick drum and you were gonna scare the shit outta the cat. But, nope...
Where did you get the right angle gearbox and do you have a part number or link?
The gearbox was already on it when I got the tractor. I don't know what it is. There might be a label on the bottom side where it mounts, but I have not had it off to see if it does. If I tear in to it again I will be sure and look and let you know.
Howdie kevin wondering if you use a Skill saw for cutting seems to work on my metal cuts nice just wondering if you had a reason gor the bar up high innstead of middle 🤔 thanks for ideas looking great lm new too your channel my ph my wifes comp and we got this great plan coming thks again for sharing with us keep it up makin mine out of 2 frames of Garden tractors so can use both diffs hopefully will work mine going to be Big Mac if can find wheels need 18 of them tuff to find so far was thinking making tubes for rims and sheet metal inside for strength ? What ya think faburcatoring at its best keep ya posted from Canada 🇨🇦 SK later later
At the time of this video I mainly used a grinder with a fiber disk or a saws all. Now I use a metal cutting chop saw, a skill saw, grinder , band saw, saws all, or whatever it takes. The reason the bar is so high is just to get the ride height to match the back end, and I already had a lot of it built already. I had thought of using two cub cadet garden tractor hydrostat rear ends (because I already had one) but thought it would be too slow, and couldn't find anybody that showed how to speed up a hydrostat. I you watch all the video's you will see that I struggle with drivetrain components till I get to what I have now. With me it is whatever I have already or can get cheaply and just seeing what I can get to work. I could have probably bought a 6 wheel "gator" and built a body on it, but what's the fun in that? Everyone always asks me when I take it to car shows or cruise in's "what did it start out as" I tell them "two pieces of 3" C channel" they really don't understand. Thanks for watching and your interest!
@kevinscreations4486 howdie yes like me use what we hav ya got my vote and glad signed up cause ya teach us how and when and ya make it happin hopefully will get too were ya are so involved with this ya probly hav more ones on the go glad ya do this thks again for your time lm old still think lm a kid my body does not think so ha ha so carry on Kevin lm on board keep it upya got this
Howdie ya got this Kevin how long is the frame if ya mind me asking Makin mine for a friend to haul a trailer witch you should build as well anyway back to tractor his is made with 2 diffsvfrom garden tractor so far the trailer is too haul a Saugage 16 ft long l,m lost so far on it any ideas ? Very appreciated for your help this again for sharing this with us from Canada 🇨🇦 SK later 😊
@JudiMarks the semi frame is a little over 12 feet long. Thanks again for your comments.
Do you have a tractor supply? Ours has all of those things
Oh I'm dumb tsc means tractor
@christopherdelisle558 yes, ours carries very little of that stuff in stock. That would have made my life much easier. Thanks for watching
Howdie hey at our age nice to be able to be a kid ya got time and money and of course parts helps go do it l,m 68 and still building toys 3 heart attacks and bum shoulders still out doing what l like to do hey how long it take you to get this built and what's next project for us to watch ya got this enjoy your dreams one day they,ll be gone sad to say it but it's true so from Canada 🇨🇦 SK later Kevin this for sharing your dream machine 😊
It took me 6 months to build working on it on the weekends and I got only about $500 in it. Mostly for the actuators, front wheels and tires, and other small parts. The rest I had already from my collections.
Very nice. Sounds great.
Sounds like an old Detroit
The 4" pipes really give it a deep sound.
@@kevinscreations4486 what motor is it really
@Christian_196 it's a Suzuki four wheeler motor.
Howdie from Canada 🇨🇦 SK wondering do use a tank with your welding ? Can ya show us what kind of metal tubing was used for the edge of bucket mighty fine to watch come together showing us how this is done hats off to ya Kevin thks😂 again for sharing with us later😊
I started with a tankless welder, but two years ago I was able to buy a Lincoln tank welder. The pipe around the top of the bucket is metal conduit that i cut a groove in so that it would slide over the edge of the metal and wood of the bucket. Thanks Again!
@@kevinscreations4486 thks again got the parts if old heart let me build whas t Ya have donfore 3 heart attacks and still building project after project so hopefully can make thks last build got 28 2dr Essex and 49 International with 5.8 liter l put in it and my oth toys are 89 firebird with 350 instead of v6 more power last a v8 Garden tractor with 13 inch wheels so far and I'm 68 going on 25 ha ha good yrs marriage 31 yrs sharing keep it up thks for sharing

That was the idea when I started my channel, was to use parts and pieces that I could get for cheap, or free stuff I could collect over time. Once people find out you do this stuff they will give you all kinds of things. Thankfully I have a wife that will put up with it.
Howdie Kevin wondered if ya hadidea on how or what kind of blade ya use to cut the sheet metal thats cool mine was bent to in middle not enough support craftsman frame better now keep it up right with ya strong frame work steady ya got this thks Kevin for sharing great ideas coming from Canada 🇨🇦 SK later 😊
It's a Diablo metal cutting blade for my circular saw. It does a great job.

Would Have Loved To See How You Wired Up The Taillights
In my case I don't know if it would have made since. Because they were from Amazon there was no instructions I just had to figure it out. Once I found out black was neutral, and not green like I assumed, I could just connect each wire to a battery to see what lit up. I hooked the two yellow lights (because I don't have turn signals yet) in with the other ones all over the truck. The two reds are tied in to a switch on the brake pedal. The two white lights go to a relay that is wired kind of weird. The four wheeler motor uses the negative to turn the indicator light on and off. So the relay has a constant hot to it and it gets the ground from the motor when it is in reverse. That switches the hot wire to make my indicator light and the reverse lights come on. I don't know how many people I would have lost during all of that. Thanks for watching!
@@kevinscreations4486 Well, I Appreciate You Taking The Time To Explain How You Did It.

Cool build. This build brought me to your channel. I think i know what your doing but can't wait to see it finished again! Mike
@@thercbarn5001 Thank you. I hope you will like this next version.
bucket cyl is too long.
Yes, I didn't have anything to tell me where to put each point, so i just had to try something, and it was way off. The second attempt was almost right and the third was perfect. That's how a lot of my projects are done, by trial and error. Thanks for watching!
You need to install two things to preserve your bucket: 1 a skid plate on side of bucket on ground and 2 a replaceable cutting edge made of steel. Trust me both are cheaper than rebuilding a bucket in a few years of abrasive earth moving
On both skid plate and cutting edge you can pad weld to add mass to plates, meaning that your adding metal to both as kind of a wear area to protect the bucket frame. I notice a lot of scratched paint when you were repairing
Yes. The bottom of the bucket is 5/16" steel plate that has a bevel ground on the edge. I don't really plan on digging in the dirt too much after I get done with the little section I'm doing now. It will mostly be used for gravel and mulch after that. Thanks for the info.
@@kevinscreations4486 it will still wear using looser materials like gravel and mulch.ya don't have to install them, but it's something to remember that you may have to replace the bucket at a later date without it.
do you have a video of building the bucket part?
If you go to the playlist, it's the second and third video, but please watch the whole playlist. Lol Thanks
That’s exactly what I want to build
Howdie wondering why ya did not put triangle pieces for support just thinking out load keep going mirror set bk l learned hard way too on my rams too strong !!! Och they bent any way looks like great place to be so from Canada 🇨🇦 Sk later ya got this at least one of ya l,m busy with just me and l made mistakes ha ha later 😊
Hi, Thanks for watching. It seems to be good and strong now. I like to play with editing sometimes, and make like there is two of me. It would be nice to have another me for the extra help, but I don't think the would could handle another me. I hope you enjoy the video's.
Did you use 18 or 24 volt actuators?
Thanks for commenting . Neither, It's all hydraulic. Please watch playlist for complete build.
What broke the camels back ?
Bigger Exhaust Fan, maybe one in the ceiling
I wish I could clone myself, haha
Yes, I like to play with editing. I wish I had a shop helper, the dog is not much help. lol
@@kevinscreations4486 I hear ya
When using hollow punches, use a piece of end grain 4x4, holes will come out perfect and punch will last longer. Nice build 👍
Ok. Thanks for the info.
I thought about a loader idea for a similar build. But now I'm trying to build a self loader dumper. Should meet my needs better. I'm using a cub cadet frame with hydrostatic trany and a 6hp gas motor to power the hydrostatic and hydraulics. It is conceptual right now but I do have most of the parts for the build. Looking for the ideas I haven't thought about before I get started. Best of luck with your project.
Thank you for watching! Sounds cool
Hello Mr Kevin, I am a new subscriber, I enjoy fabricating such as putting on a loader on my 1250 cub cadet. I want to put on a 22hp kohler I got from a poulon lawn tractor i just recently acquired. Do you have a video on your hook up from vertical shaft to the driveshaft for the cub cadet system. Keep up the good fabrication, looks good, Clarence
Thanks for watching and subscribing. The previous owner changed it to vertical shaft. He used some kind of 90 gearbox to turn the shaft going into the pump and just have a belt to the motor. I had to make a heavy duty belt tensioner that would put a good bit of force on the belt and also get the belt around the steering box. I did three renditions before i got it heavy enough to work. I don't know how much you can tell about it in the early videos, but you must have already watched them to know it is vertical shaft and your comment is on the video that probably has that info. lol If I tear back into that part again I will try to cover that better, If I can get more info. Thanks again
Great job on your creation but honestly you forgot to add your time. so it's actually going to be way more costly than the $2.500. that's after totally the hours it took to put it together.
Yes, you are very correct, I should have mentionedthat. If I was building one for someone else, I would definitely have to take that into consideration. It was more to me to be creative, challenging myself, and learning about something I have never worked with, like hydraulics. Thank you for watching!
Camera girl tell your daddy to do another one like that and to purchase the e-bike wheel kit it could be something someone may want to buy
Nice, projects always need updating and fixing. You can put a small lightweight spring inside the tube to stiffen it up.
Nice seeing you upload! It's a constant battle in my barn! To much crap!
Yes, I haven't had time to upload anything. I have been trying to get my new business of doing home inspections going. Doing the schooling and certification and everything that goes along with it, and the shop has been a wreck. I about got the shop back in shape and I have a couple of things waiting to get worked on. So more content coming soon.
@kevinscreations4486 completely understand. I hope your new endeavor works out for you!
