This is a 2180cc combo (82mm crank x92mm piston) 7.5:1 compression with 67.6cc in heads, .095" deck, LBC 2 cam, 1.25 rockers, 40x35 pocket port heads, stock weight flywheel, dual 40mm IDF carbs with 28mm vents, 1 1/2" exhaust all on 91 octane pump gas. This engine started as a fuel injection turbo combo(that's why the low compression), but the customer wanted to go old-school simple with a set ...

Nice but what setting do u have cuz I always have to turn the key 2 to 3 times and usually step on accelerator a tad. Any tips what I should do to the setting? I’ve tried going up on the injection but when it does fire up I get a big cloud of rich mixture out the exhaust.

Very nice engine, looks like you put a lot of time and $ into it. I like the Porsche fan setup. You could put a remote starter set up to your alarm to wake you up and warm it up for the drive.

thank you, when i explained to customer, he did not understand the finished look i wanted, but gave me the go! Knowing you get to look over the engine area in a ghia i wanted it all the make sense when you look at it! it was that basic of a goal!

Did this on an old Land Rover with it's stock manifold. There was as much as a 5mm step into the head! The bore of the manifold was actually larger than inlet so you can imagine the mess that would make of the flow. Opened up the port in the head and it was really easy with some carbide bits. The car did have a bit more power, not a huge amount but was noticeable.

Nah! VW is pure JUNK! You know it and I know it. Always was and always will be. Stop living 75 years in the past with that grossly under powered POS. My C6 Z06 is TT Lingenfelter @1636 RWHP on the chassis dyno on E85. Pump gas with waste gates turned down is still 1248 RWHP. 85K miles later and its still holding together like day 1. And my rail is TT LS3. I did start off with a VW rail I got for $25 with a blown engine. Rebuilt it, ran FI and intercooled turbo and gave up on VW garbage long ago. Then went with Corvair and then Porsche engines... almost as unrelible with crappy torque and grossly overpriced parts. Stepping up to LS was far cheaper with mind blowing results. Like going from a weed wacker to a super car. So take a sledge hammer to that POS before you sink any deeper down the rabbit hole. You will later thank me for this great advice, just as I thanked someone who stopped me from wasting money on VW. Good luck!

So many People into Performance doesn’t understand what kind of Driving they are looking for! I’ve made this mistake in Drag Racing when i was young, thinking if i Build a High Horsepower Engine, the rest would fall in line… LMAO! But it’s all part of learning, and learning the hard way is the best way! I still love Performance, and the Math is everything, and Experience will always make whatever you Build so much better!!! Nice little Pancake Build, it sounds really Healthy!!! Thanks for sharing.

Have you tried this with natural aspirations and no TBI?
@007mwn yes, about 100 times, give or take over the years. Keep in mind that a turbo vw drives in NA 95% of the time (street car, not drag car!). Boost is only for aggressive throttle. You can drive across the USA and never get up on boost if you keep your foot out of it!.
Very cool. How good is the distribution evenness with one injector per pair of ports?
There is actually 2x more injectors in the throttle body, so a total of 4x. These two really help with throttle response and start-up on draw-throu combos or big cam combos. I have been using and making these for many years, this is just the newest design.

@007mwn the only problem is asking injector to work at very low volumes. It's not a good idea to have one injector trying to support 10 horse and 150 horse

Hey brother, how many Kadrons can you fit on a type one Motor. I have been hearing stories about you for a long time my friend used to race with Gean . He was good friends with scooter at R&S performance where I worked for a lifetime lol. Anyway, I heard one time that somebody showed up with four carburetors instead of two.
@vwdarrin haha yes we did try 4x but no real success, best outcome i got was the 49.9mm set is built mated to a 2387cc with 14.6:1 compression, 46x38 valves and a FK98 cam (not 89, a 98!) The car had clutch problems and never made a complete pass. I have big dreams of one day putting it all back together!!

@octymocty132 well I was trained by the best to use wd40 over 25 years ago and have no plans to change now, and unfortunately, or should i say fortunately I'm a busy person and will clean the bench when I have no work! Need some high-school auto shop kids to come on over!
This is gasket matching
He's not matching the gasket to the port, he's using the gasket to match the ports to!. Now if the ports where bigger, then he'll match the gasket to the port.
@CP110 on some manifolds I'll have the customers just send me the gaskets to match the new manifolds but I like it when I have the head instead.

@ how would you compare it to CBs dual throttle body EFI?
@MrSagerific95 i have used the Holley controller before and is really a good unit, mostly if your famillor with Holley. If not, it can be overwhelming for a novice or new to fuel injection user. Our dual throttle body kit uses Fitech software. The single Throttle body kit like this one in video is really for drivers and not targeted at performance applications or combos.

Correct, the Ghia and Bus draw-throu turbo kits look the same, only difference is a longer exhaust pipe.

Thanks! got me reminiscing days of old and my 64 bus! I used old vw ac lines for oil cooling and bypass, talk about low bugget. built an 1850 dual port, tiny cam, could go 100 mph! Could jump all 4 wheel off the ground! . . . love your work

What engine do you have in your vw?
84x92, lbc 2, 42x37 cnc, 9.0:1, 2" plenums, T28 turbo, blow-through, intercooled, fitech 600hp power adder. its on 16 psi making 270hp to wheels on pump.
Is that common with the mofo's? Only asking because Im running a set right now
how these aftermarket valve guides were installed is what was wrong with this set of heads but all heads can have this type of problem. Its common on engines that did not have the geometry properly set or large cam/lift combos.Its also a big problem on lashcap street combos.

It just sits there,spinning 1000 rpm. Has any of them ever come out of there and created havoc?
