I hate being the only intern at my department. My manager has a quite free vibe on the rest of the employees meaning ppl do things their own way. This means, as an intern, I’m getting shxt from everyone for doing sth in ways that others have taught me. Also, strict rules only apply to interns so when I do things the way my supervisors do them, I get shxt from my manager.

Thank you for making this video. You're like a mentor! I'm going to an interview for an internship tomorrow and I hope it goes well. I don't feel 100% prepared, but I feel more prepared for the internship itself now and I know some questions to ask in the interview. I just need to study some interview tips. I'm not sure if I will get this internship, but I hope so! If I did mock interviews and more preparation, I could feel more confident going into this interview, but I did do a real interview a few weeks ago. I didn't get that internship, but I still learned from doing that interview what I would expect. There were probably a lot of factors leading to who they choose for the internship. The last place I interviewed at is my college and they were looking for one student. They prioritize people who are graduating sooner. Maybe I didn't get the internship because I was nervous in the interview, or it was some other things outside my control like how I'm not graduating till next spring. I should stay positive because they can only accept one applicant and me not getting the internship doesn't mean that I did something wrong or I am not qualified. My friend reminded me I am smart and have the requirements for the internship and he says I will do fine.

To summarize: 1. Setting clear objectives and expectations for employers and yourself. What are your employers looking for in a successful intern? Don’t just assume. 2. Check in weekly with your supervisor. 3. Ask questions! Try to solve the problem yourself at first, but ask questions if you get stuck. 4. Set up coffee chats with the people on your team. 5. Participate in company events! Professional, social, workshops, etc. 6. Set daily, weekly, and overall summer goals. Have a to-do list for your summer. (time will fly, own your time!) 7. Be open to criticism, show a growth mindset. 8. Show your enthusiasm! Positive mindset! 9. Identify what you don’t like about the internship. 10. Aim to get a return offer! +1 I would also add researching the people you’re working with so that you are well-versed in who’s who. Being prepared beforehand makes networking so much easier. Thank you for this video!

Quick question, I got accepted to an internship for tax and audit for a gov job, however they want me to work there for 3 years on contract. The thing is it’s a scary commitment and I haven’t even taken any tax or audit classes, I’m also barely transferring to a university. My gut tell me I should not sign it, but my brain tells me that it can be an opportunity, please help ❤️

Some internships i saw didn't require experience but you'd have better chances to land the job if you have experience (talking about programing) you can always gain points by making a game or making a website and stuff like that 😁.

The best opportunity to get an internship is all about "who you know". If you know how to play golf, you're guaranteed to get internships. I've been getting young people internships because I know them and referred them to other colleagues in different companies. Sending out resumes is pretty much useless.

@@monoinluv4894 My son, with ZERO work experience, is a college junior and he got several internship offers this past summer in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and software sales without sending out any resume. He became friends with people on the golf course and the people who work there told him whenever there are corporate events being held there. My son just showed up that day and tried to play if they were short on people which they often do. He got to know a lot of people and he hustled himself. He also happened to be a very good golfer so it is natural that those people would invite him back to play with them again and again. He was picked for the position over many qualified candidates with a much better resume than he did. In other words, it is not how much you know but who you know. He ended up accepting a position in software sales and was paid like $55/hour for a ten weeks internship. The company's Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) likes my son so much that the CMO personally asked him to come back for next year's internship and the CMO will personally mentor him.
