Still holding up strong, you can see updates with vids pics on fb/ig under @nodrft I even used 5/8” plastic push rivets similar to oem style and my car is real low. I don’t daily drive it everyday but it is registered and driven every other weekend.

Did those covers hold up?

I believe the orange is to dim the gauges at night, I didn’t care to have the dimming feature.

@@m3clubracer neither did I, that’s why I didn’t care for it. Try tapping your headlight switch so when you turn on the headlights, it dims and when turn off headlights, it get full bright again. For me it wasn’t that big of a difference in brightness to find another power source and rap/run the wire and tuck it away too.

@@NODRFTNewOrleansDriftI am not electrically inclined and the switch is on the stalk...this is beyond my youtube electrical certification!!

@chrissrivera9043, idk what would cause that but double check everything. Did you plug all the plugs back into the correct connections? What was it doing before you did this job, like why did you decide to do this?

@@NODRFTNewOrleansDrift before it was running good , no issues just that it was taking a little longer to turn on so I decided to originally change my spark plugs then I saw that there was an oil leak in one of the plugs so I then decided to change the gasket . I double checked last night the cables but I saw that the vacuum hose was on the wrong hole , I had accidentally placed the one that’s next to it (I think it’s the coolant hose if I’m not mistaken) then I tried to turn it on yet it does the same thing and smells burnt

@@chrissrivera9043if it smells burnt most likely you didn’t put the gaskets right have you fixed that issue and figured it out

@@Kocaineee yes sir , it turned out to be my throttle bodies , I needed them to be replaced and also do a idle relearn process , i appreciate your advice ! 👍🏼

@dragonstrike12244 at 10:40, I am laying under the car looking up. Have you tried, 1st free up the entire small harness bundle that runs by the alternator. There’s a Ziptied rivet thing that affixes the harness to the alternator bracket, use a pick tool to get that loose, and then have a free harness, it’ll help when you go at unplugging the alternator plug. It’s an awkward sideways pinching of the plug, if you have some compressed air, blow the plug it may help free the dirt/debris and allow a better grab of the plug. When I’m pulling the plug, I give it a wiggle as I pull to free it and hope it pops out. Lmk how it goes.

Update: replaced them today, now it’s misfiring, I double and triple checked everything and I don’t know what I could have possibly done wrong.

@@IcartniteI sorry to hear, check your coil packs and make sure you didn’t mix up the plugs.

@SmallS I’m not sure but code P0011 states that “the intake camshaft in Bank1 is more advanced than the engine computer has told it to be”. Have you tried unplugging the battery for 10-30min to reset everything? Also on google there’s some results about relearning to clear p0011, tried that?

@@NODRFTNewOrleansDrift Actually, I swapped the camshaft sensor and found out that was the issue.

@Samuel Ortiz, yea the wet plug can misfire and not misfire intermittently. May want to change your tube seals.

Sorry to hear, mine doesn’t get water. Did you poke a hole through it or did you poke it to lift a section of the grommet seal to lift up over sheet metal? If you poked an actual hole, than water would go through. If you lift it to feed the wire than push the grommet back into the hole, less likely to leak.

@urusa I use valvoline vr1 20-50 in all my vq cars. Been using that oil since 2008.

@@NODRFTNewOrleansDrift isnt 50 viscosity too thick for VQ engines since its factory viscosity is 30?..

@@Qkfltpdls777 I’m a firm believer in it, I’m in the south so it’s hot and humid. Oil seems to break down and 20-50 vr1 has been going great not getting too liquidity…haven’t blown engines, I drift all day long, and come home, to me it’s proven/works for me so I stick to it. But may not be up for you though. Oh yeah, my lowest mile z33 is 140k, both my g35’s have over 240k miles and gets vr1 oil, still kicking rocks.

@Bismarck Liu You can carefully use a pair of adjustable pliers. Grip onto hose and kind of massage the hose by lightly clamping the pliers while turning it to break it loose, don’t do it too rough, easy on it, not full tight grip but not loose either. Hard to explain since it’s a feel thing but hope it helps. Try not to yank on it to rip the hose or break the plastic. Good luck, let me know if you have any more questions or how it went!

@@GaleoneOfficial if you broke it and can’t find one new at parts store. Hit up the local junkyard or pap and see if you can get a used one temporary. It’s probably best to order a new one so you won’t have to worry about that or a used one failing.

@Don Hugo, it’s not a bad job if you know how to change plugs. I was using brake cleaner for everything. Just make sure you wipe and let it dry good. Typically if you find oil inside your spark plug galleys, the spark plug seals inside the valve covers maybe going bad. The ones I changed in this video are just the valve cover gaskets which don’t include the spark plug seals. You can first try the valve cover gaskets to see if it solves it, but if you still find oil, you may have to get new valve covers since the seals are technically not serviceable as they’re built into the valve covers. Or if pockets are deep, do new valve covers and valve cover gaskets all at one time. Up to you’ Lmk if that helps or if you have anymore questions.

@@Qkfltpdls777 I used a scanner to check but had no codes before nor after.

The spark plug seals are inside the valve covers. Not serviceable by Nissan standards but there’s a 3rd party company that sells a tool and seal kit but I did not change those as mine aren’t leaking.

I’m not to sure as I do not go to the dealer.

@@michaelnossa28 private shop quoted me $1067 parts/labor to replace both sides. They are replacing the whole valve cover not just the gasket

@@ULTMTGMR-rj9bt yeah I got quoted around 1300 for parts and labor so I just got rid of the g and copped a 3.7 q50 lmao

@dylanfamo, sorry about late reply. I attached the sensor to my oil filter adapter. I highlighted it in the video. I used the sensor that came with the gauge.

@bartolo heriberto, your best bet would be the OEM Nissan gasket since they manufacture Infiniti, it’ll be the most up to date part even if they made revisions to it to improve. Is the VC you bought not oem Nissan/Infiniti? If I was you, I’d use the oem Nissan gasket on the aftermarket VC and sell the other gasket cheap or keep as spare.

@andrew21kg, had a very small teardrop drip a few days after but just tighten it up more and no issues since til today. Hope that helps, lmk if you have any other q’s.

@davaban, RTV is extra security that holds it in place at the corners so the gasket doesn’t fall out the VC groove when you flip it to reinstall, and can’t really see how it seats.

Hi @temi Romeo, I did not change the spark plug seals. I believe they are apart of the the valve covers so those would need to be changed.

2007 g35s 3.5vhr sedan, only the 6spd sedans of this yr came with the pre g37 body. Good luck finding one, get a manual, you’ll love it!
