You should start an ai efilist series for the purpose of advocating for the philosophy. Have a scenario where a religious couple hear about antinatalism and efilism and decide to have kids as an offense to it. Then the family goes through a whole bunch of natural and human caused disasters to where somebody in the family concludes that we were right.

You're opposed to causing the existence of another sentient being, which you think is a utilitarian pov, but it's probably not. Stats are compiled from unreliable sources (park & rec bulletins etc) but it's hard to find up to date metrics for nr of sentient beings / hectare: 1. arable land use per person in the US is 0.53ha 2. 1.2 mammals 0.3 birds per hectare on temperate region arable land = 1.5 total 3. 75 mammals 25 birds per hectare on temperate region forest = 100 total If our offspring would cause the decrease of individuals continuously suffering from 100 to 1.5 then them being born could be positive. I think no-one can hold a purely utilitarian pov due to computing errors for our actions. I would consider myself a utilitarian when it's easy to compute and a deontologist when it's not, and most often I find myself on the deontology side. Should we start building parking lots and chopping down forests? Probably not, because we would make a decision for someone else (the inhabitants of the forest), but that's also a deontological pov. Should we be vegan even if we have a lower impact on land use? Probably, because the calculations don't account for nr of sentient animals killed for the food of those individuals.

He de decir que asi como habemos personas afines a estos temas, observen y veran que hay gente muy adaptada a esta realidad que ni sufre ni se acongoja gebte que tiene mucha ambición de poder politico, de dinero , militar etc. Son personas que tienen 80 años y quieren seguir gobernando en su empresa en algun cargo público haciendo mas dinero. Pues como atenuante dire que aunque nos ufanemos de ser racionales mucho y varia de persona en persona tenemos el instinto animal escencial comer, dormir, y reproducirte. No escapamos a eso. If eventual death is the reason you’re an anti natalist, then you’re just a confused existentialist who is desperate to feel some sense of value and moral superiority. Death itself is not a problem. If you see the world as a very cruel and inhumane place, death would be seen as reward for all of the suffering one endures while alive. If you’re angry because you’re going to die, that must mean you absolutely love being alive, right?

I come from a difficult life with my father who was a covert narcissist, he was very manipulative, depended on me financially, and was psychologically and emotionally abusive. I was homeless with him for a very long time during my upbringing and never had a good home life growing up. I managed to escape that and had to go great lengths to get away from him, I was lucky to have known the people that supported me and helped me with that process. I went to go be with my extended family that had found me on the internet, they flew me in first class to go be with them, and they thought I was a gift from grandma that passed away, I genuinely felt that I would belong with them and I thought they felt same way, but unfortunately, I guess they didn’t. What seemed like a gift from the universe, just turned into something that only contributed to my psychological wounds, I was only with them for 3 months because of how difficult they were to live with, and how conditional their love and regard was towards me, their love was like a benchmark, I couldn’t really be loved or accepted for just the way I am, I would hear them say “But he wasn’t raised that way!” “Oh it’s just gonna take time” , “I just think he just wasn’t raised properly” …and it felt like I had to constantly jump through hoops in order to be loved, and if I don’t, then it’s basically ‘bye peace out can’t live with your family’. I can still remember how my aunt was like “You’ve been going on 3 months!!” …It’s just unfair to me how my upbringing pretty much got robbed by a narcissist father and is something no kid should ever have to go through, while my fully related brother got to have what they called a ‘privileged life’ and we never grew up together since we were born. My aunt didn’t even have any idea why I went to go be with them, even though she invited me and said “why not come stay here?” She would ask this weird question “What are the advantages that you think you have of being here?” but in my mind I’m like ‘I didn’t come here just so I can gain some kind of material advantages or benefits, I came to have a life here with my family just like any other kid would’. I told her “I don’t know” , and she replied “then why did you come live with us honey?” I had unfortunately received some invalidating comments from others that I’ve tried to speak to about my trauma, they’ve said things like “why should they love you” and “who are you and why should you be loved and cared for” and another person said “you don’t seem to realize that you’re wanting a warped and distorted image of your family by wanting a life there with them” lol, and he called me a “poster child of emotional immaturity”. Even a former friend who I thought would always be validating of my experience, ended up going against me and said “Well they raised your brother! They raised him and not you so he’s their kid!” and he laughed at me, and I’ve basically been labeled as having some kind of “sense of entitlement”. Isn’t every kid or young person deserving of what I believe is the most basic, simplest thing any young person could have, which is a family home or to live with one’s own blood family, in a home? With caregivers/siblings, etc? But for some reason, I’m being considered by some people as bad/evil/narcissistic for trying to have that very thing, that had been very much lacking in my life, when I was growing up? This has all put me in a constant endless loop of rumination. I remember I stayed with a friend of mine and his family because his mom couldn’t sleep at night knowing that I was sleeping in a car in a parking lot somewhere. They treated me as equally as their 2 boys… I wanted that with my brother… every other kid gets to have a family home life with their families and siblings, I believe it is the most basic thing a kid can be allowed to have… I tend to think if my friends can live with their families, why can’t I live with mine? So for a kid to live with one’s own family he has to be born into it? …I have had someone that recognized the validity of my feelings though, and that person said ‘how in the world can you not be allowed just the same if not more’. I just wanted a life there with my family… why would that be a bad or wrong or reprehensible thing? I can’t believe that, I went through that whole process, of getting away from my father, and finally got to go be with my extended family after my whole life of them not being in my life and going through a nightmarish life with a narcissist father, only for it to, pretty much, backfire? All because, they ‘raised my brother and not me’… I thought I would be their kid too… They bought a condo and now my brother is living in it for free… We never chose our parents. and I never chose this life…

You guys sound like a cult. Plenty of people love their kids, insisting that this psychopathic narcissism you portray the average parent as having is representative of parenthood itself strikes me as though whoever has made this video has been in an echo chamber for far too long. I would also rely way less on the emotionally driven language to make the case for any kind of philosophy that contests the common morales of its time and place since you're more likely to attract emotionally unstable people to your movement. It's kind of like how plenty of religions use highly emotional language to pursaude emotionally unstable people. Don't get me wrong, I think emotion has a place in making an argument, but this is way too much.

If they really believe that no parent should have to bury their child, then eliminate the possibility! Antinatalists have the cure for everything that ails us, and as such we need not think about other ways to solve problems. Already did that for years and found dead ends everywhere, started to get the big picture.
