    i would like a yearly update if this carb is still working i just got a 76 F150, that had a bad stumble off idle acceleration but would run at highway speed no prob. SO i rebuilt carb; attached fuel filter was overflowing with large grains sand like rust, interior had fine sediment everywhere. Cleaned it up with carb cleaner replace seats, powervalve, accel pump and now it runs w/o that stumble but hard to get it set right to start without feathering throttle several minutes and also not idle high, like 900 rpmish [just guessing wwith no tach] choke is missing the warming tube and it still has a miss at this high idle the plugs are old but i cleaned them and regapped to 35ish /1000, plugwires sem new 7mm, rotor cap and reluctor all seem good maybe i shud buy 4 new plugs and install all on one side , then if miss doesnt go away, reinstall all on other side i did do a compression test and one cylinder is like 82 ish and rest are between 95and 110, so could likely be that low cylinder missing either way im wondering if this cheap new chinee carb can fix my miss and or high idle problems?

    Hi, I´m mounting a 302 engine, and I have many doubts about this carburetor. It have many tubes on downside, and with some difference between the oribinal motorcraft carburetor. How can I do to send to you the pictures about all the parts that I have doubt?

    Yeah keep buying from our enemies who want to bury us. Cheap prices for cheap crap. Don't worry when they outlaw gas engines, we can all ride bicycles just like the Chinese. To quote the CO admonishing Tom Cruise in Top Gun for buzzing the tower, "You want to keep fooling around, I'll have you flying a cargo ship full of rubber dog shit out of Hong Kong!"

    Probably the video, but looked like you forgot the gasket for the carb to block, and then said it wobbled a little bit, wondered if it was the missing gasket that that what caused the wobble maybe. Then again i don't have as much hair as you so...

    I bought one of these Autolite/Motorcraft clones a couple months ago for my '57 Thunderbird. The modifications were minor since my car's a bare-bones 3-speed (no anti-stall dashpot, kickdown assembly, etc.). While the 12V spade on the automatic choke interfered with the air cleaner housing, my climate is warm enough that I just rotated it so the choke is always open. THE BAD NEWS: after about a hundred miles, the power valve diaphragm failed. It developed holes, so fuel kept draining into the intake manifold. Hard starts, terrible runability. I replaced the power valve with one from a rebuild kit but I'm still not getting the carb to run right. Having witnessed the power valve failure, I sldo checked the accelerator pump diaphragm; it looks fine. Bottom line for me: in theory I love this thing (who would've thought anyone would come up with an exact copy, especially one that allows part swapping from an original?), but now I don't feel I can trust it.

      The other UA-cam videos of Chinese knock off carbs all have problems. They tore them down and they’re basically junk. I was going to get one for my 86 ford but I need something that works. I’m getting one from Oreily for $200.

      I know what your feeling in the trust it department.! The new ones are just duplicated. The original 2100 or any motorcraft or any model forom any company is developed and designed and they are designed and built to work .They things work cause they copied enough of the stuff that it works not because they developed them!

      @@pnwDatsunCheck for vacuum leaks that can come from intake gasket, uneven mounting surface, or the big one no one checks, the throttle shaft bores on the carb. Wiggle the throttle and look for movement in the shaft. If it’s bad, you can buy a bushing kit or replace the carb. Spray carb cleaner all around until the idle changes and you’ve found your vacuum leak

    There was one on a '69 Fairlane 302 I bought, JUNK!!!. It lost a vacuum plug that went through the engine(aluminum so apparently no harm). Rendered one side of carb inoperative. I went through a friends stash and found a '69 2100 from a 351. Rebuilt that and it's been fine.

    That's a nice truck! I sure like the supercab, I'd like one fer sure. Ford designed some good carbs in the 2100 & 4100. The later designed emissions 2150 wasn't as good but I guess it was the best they could do with the regulations at the time. I don't recall if the trucks had catalytic converters in 78 or 79... it might of depended on vehicle gross weight spec... My memory isn't too good anymore. The 400M engine in my experience was better than the 360/390FE. I'd sure like to know how that carb holds up. Does your fuel have ethanol in it. That stuff ruined gas for our old cars. Thank you for the video. I appreciate you.

    I am on the fence about getting the Amazon $70 one barrel for my 77 f250 300-6. I can't figure out how the same carburetor is over $200 at the auto parts store but is so cheap online

    • @buttonysquare8501
      @buttonysquare8501 10 місяців тому

      It’s a cheap Chinese replica and the $200 ones are remanufactured US made originals. The 1 barrels are, well, a 1 barrel so it’s already underpowered as is. I would say the $70 one is fine you just need to make sure the 6 year old child laborer in China put it together right.

      Works for the 2.8L just needs to fix the accelerator pump by bending the rod to shorten it to get a better economy and performance hot. Also I use stock 50 jetting works currently crossing over with the stock power valve 8.5" on the V6 and you really need to check your float level with a quarter from the top of the bowl to the fuel level. I use a 25 cent quarter a manual choke conversion is way better control on hot starts with the 2.8L so electric chokes sucks on the 2.8L. if not I'd be waiting a few minutes to start the truck for the choke to open up which I'm impatient to do in a parking lot so manual choke.
