Beautiful, elegant outfits. Autumn fashion is so fun, isn’t it? The layers give endless styling possibilities and this autumn’s trending colors, browns, khaki green and burgundy, are so classic and gorgeous.

It took me a long time to find dark, chocolate-brown knee-high boots with the comfy, mid-heels I wear, all brown leather clothes and accessories were all tan for decades (I like tan/cognac, but wanted the darker brown, too). I finally found a beautiful suede pair last winter at House of Bruar. A darker brown belt and bag finally were available recently, too. The dark brown feels very fresh this autumn, although it is a classic neutral.

I never stopped wearing my colored tights, with matching footwear and usually matching my dress or skirt. I never understood the trend of only wearing black tights with, say, beige footwear and a beige skirt. All of be color looks great.

Thank you for this haul, I love coats so much. Good quality coats are not only any items of clothing but masterpieces of art for me.

When I was a teenager and young adult in the 70s and 80s “camel coats” meant coats made of natural-color camel hair, like yours. Nowadays, it just seems to mean any fabric in camel color. Of course, in those days, it was rare to find mainstream clothes (say, those in good department stores or boutiques, where we all shopped before the Internet) that had any synthetics in them. Polyester was just starting to show up in bargain brands, but most clothes were still nearly all natural fiber. I miss the quality of those days, good fabrics are considered “luxury” these days!

I’m a coat person, too, and jackets, especially good wool blazers. I spend the most on these items, compared to the rest of my wardrobe. My footwear, accessories and leather clothing are genuine leather (or suede), but not designer. I generally don’t have the budget for designer pieces, I just have a few very special designer accessories that I couldn’t resist, but I have been building my wardrobe for forty years. Quality is super-important to me, but not status.

Nice collection, thanks for the review. I love a good-quality, warm winter coat. None of my coats are designer*, but they’re mostly high-quality all wool or wool/cashmere blends. Most of them have breathable rayon linings, which is important to me because I can’t wear polyester next to my skin (allergies). Two of them are unlined and wool/poly blends, but I bought them because after looking for years I couldn’t find the colors anywhere else - a light blue and a dark forest green (I also have a khaki green). My other coats are neutrals. I think the best are from Banana Republic and The House of Bruar (these might have part poly linings, the sleeves maybe?), a Scottish Company. These brands’ coats have the right combination of high-quality fabrics and construction, classic styles and moderate prices ($500 to $800 or so). I wear dresses or skirt outfits nearly every day, so long coats, tall boots and tights are important for my wardrobe. *Just remembered, my oldest coat (40 years), is a Dior, I still adore it. Longer is better for winter coats, I think. It doesn’t get very cold where I live, at least compared to Germany, but I like fitted coats because they’re just right over a fairly lightweight dress or other outfit that won’t overheat me when I go indoors. All public buildings here, like shops, restaurants and offices are super-overheated, around 75 or 80F. I prefer a coat with a full lining because they help cut the cold wind and make the coat so much easier to don and doff. I only need extra layers under a coat if I go up to the mountains (San Francisco) and for that I might wear a down parka instead of a city coat.

Nice video. I love nature and hence all colors you find in nature. Burgundy is one of my favorite color. I never follow trends. Years ago, I bought a burgundy jeans, satin silk top, midi skirt with side slit. I have burgundy hat, kitty heels, couple of dresses in different shades of it.

I always liked matching accessories, even when, for some strange reason, it was considered a big No. By matching, I mean the same general hue, like all black or all tan, they don’t have to match exactly. I also wear more prints than you do, and with, say, a print dress, I don’t want accessories in three different colors, that would really be too much. With prints, I like my accessories all in a neutral color that works with the print, it’s a lot quieter look than adding still more colors. I’ve had fifty years to build my wardrobe and already have good leather accessories in all my wardrobe color-palette colors, so it’s easy, I rarely have to buy new ones. I tend to buy classics, then keep them forever, especially with expensive leather goods.

I’m looking for a leopard-print short coat or jacket in natural fibers. Please, Christine or my fellow viewing friends, let me know if, and where, you have seen any. I already have a nice leopard print skirt and two shirts in silk, and a knit (rayon) shirt-dress in this print, so I don’t need much more to wear this trend. I also like a lot of the snake prints that are trending, I have a pretty skirt and some sandals in this print (it’s 40C where I live, still sandal weather). I resisted wearing animal prints when they first came out decades ago, but I think they have now become classics, so I kept mine from last time around. I only like the ones in natural, neutral animal colors, though, and scales. Last time brands got carried away with those weird colors like purple and turquoise and those exploded scales and mixed patterns, they started looking cheap. I would keep to the classic ones, they’re very wearable as interesting neutrals.

When I was in my teens and 20s, a “Camel Coat” meant a camel-hair coat, I didn’t know any were still made. Of course, since those days, the 70s and 80s, “camel” is used for the natural camel color. That one is beautiful, but I already have a nice, long wool/cashmere blend camel-colored coat. This was from Banana Republic, I think it is called the Luna coat, and is available again this year, I also got it in black. They are fully-lined with breathable rayon, essential for me as I can’t wear polyester next to my skin. I recommend these to those with lower budgets who want top-quality, long-term use winter coats. I think they are about US$500, which is fair.

I fell in love with the Loewe Anagram belt, the buckle design reminds me of vintage gold filigree jewelry, which I love. I got a reversible black and tan and an “almond” colored one, both narrow, and I love them. I also got the Anagram “gold” brooch, which I see you have, too. You must be a lot taller than me, it looks much bigger when I wear mine. This happens to me a lot with accessories, I’m just built on a smaller scale than that designed for, especially my face and head. May I ask your height? It really helps me judge how your linked items might look on me, I’m 5’4”. Thanks, sweet Christine🙂

I love the Oran sandals so much. But I decided to get several colors of good leather dupes instead of the one designer pair. I have worn them all so much. Like you, I don’t care if they are no longer trending madly, such a simple, elegant design can be worn forever, as I will mine. I did buy a a couple of pairs of delicate-strap sandals, as an update over this last summer, but they don’t come close to the comfort of the Oran style. I keep my good leather footwear, bags, belts and clothing forever, they will trend again if they do look dated, but I try to choose simple, classic styles. I’ve been styling for 50 years and have gone through many trend cycles with my extant shoes and boots. Classic, high-quality leather/suede is always a good wardrobe investment.

I don’t love shopping in stores, it can be exhausting and they’re usually very overheated and airless. But, I so love getting the loot! So, it’s mostly online shopping for me these days. Plus, my best friend and shopping/lunch buddy, my beloved Mom, died two years ago. It just isn’t the same without her. Getting new clothes and accessories is the most fun thing, though, and wearing my new outfits! I now have a whole new wardrobe, after years of losing weight, I finally bought this over the last year. I shopped mostly for each season as they came around, for the best selection. This was very expensive, but it was very fun, too, and not something I ever did before or will do again. So, I don’t need anything more, but always allow myself to buy those items that I “fall in love with”, so long as they are classic, as close to timeless as possible, and very high-quality. I prefer a lined coat, too, so long as the lining is a breathable fabric like silk or rayon, never polyester. A lining helps cut the cold wind, adds a little loft and makes a coat so much easier to don and doff over knits.

I like the jumpsuit, but I don’t find short-sleeved items in such warm fabrics very practical. I ordered a burgundy corduroy skirt and am waiting to receive it, I think this will give me more flexibility. I also have burgundy sweaters, a coat and blazer, corduroy flare pants, boots and tights, and bag, so I’m all set to wear this color over autumn/winter, which I love. Oh, and a burgundy wool dress. Burgundy has long been one of my basic wardrobe colors, along with khaki green, this year’s other big color trend. I still frequently wear my beloved, 40-year old Dior long, burgundy wool coat, the oldest item in my wardrobe. Thanks for another video, you have great taste. I so appreciate that you buy high-quality, timeless items, as I do, you show many I would actually add to my wardrobe, unlike most US YT style videos, which focus on the lowest price.❤

Beautiful and elegant outfits. This is how a wardrobe works well if one buys all quality items. It helps to have multiple items in each color, including a top and bottom, coat or blazer and footwear. The burgundy tights and socks are essential, too, hosiery is so underrated, but can do so much for outfits.❤
