EASIEST way to install a fan (van build)
I had so much fun putting this fan into my van build and it is bringing me one step closer to my final build! I tried to modify some of the installment for people who are not comfortable with cutting the metal roof with power tools. I hope you enjoy!

    Love the proper 3d layout with boxes , I'd always recommend doing that and have done to friends in the past . You can get an idea from the computer version but seeing it for yourself in the van does make you re think sometimes . The sink in the corner is a great idea as it frees up more easy use counter space . I'm looking forward to seeing it get built up . Glad to see another video and hopefully no more technical difficulties with future content but we all have them days with technology . • @MichaelaTeague
      @MichaelaTeague 7 місяців тому

      You’re so sweet thank you!! And that’s a great question, so I purposefully made the floor frame two inches thick because I knew that’s how much the wool expanded and because of how many wood frames I have down it won’t be compressing the wool at all! I’ll try to add a clip in the next video to show it!

    Those wheel well water tanks seem pretty great. Someone else mentioned trying to distribute the weight in the van evenly between the two sides. I think that is sound advice. Counters that take up part of the sliding door are convenient. You can maybe have it set up to access things outside also. I would personally keep the toilet stored under the bed for a camping van build. I would also prefer to have the shower accessible outside, either at the sliding door or the rear doors. I am interested to see what you decide on doing. There is not really a wrong choice as long as you like the way you plan things. Fun video! I hope things with your build are going well.

    • @MichaelaTeague
      @MichaelaTeague 8 місяців тому

      I wish the well water tanks weren’t so expensive honestly. And yes I will be trying my best to evenly distribute weight in the van! Thank you for your advice!

    The spray foam is polyurethane. It should be available as foam sheets cut to the thickness you want, but it is rigid, and won't fit the curved sides of the van. It is the best insulator (0.023W/mK), which is why it is used for fridges. Polystyrene (0.036W/mK) requires 56% more thickness, glass fiber (0.04W/mK) 73% more, rock wool (0.045W/mK) 2x the thickness. As you point out, spray foam is difficult to remove. I would place fibrous insulation in plastic bags to stop air flow, and keep moisture out. Warm air inside the van, and steam from cooking or showering could cause water to condense on the cold metal panel. In houses fiber insulation is often covered with a plastic sheet.

    Hello Michaela, you did a lot of research, I commend you on your path to real living knowledge and solutions. Please consider that the Cargo Van's exterior shells are glued to its framing, before adding any sound or condensation products, please address all seams and joints also, the moister will collect in hard to hard-to-reach points, a fix to consider can be water line tubing, example would be the sliding door where the glass meets the rubber seal, tap in a drain line (tubing) to run down inside and drain at the bottom both ends, as you know must be proper sealed. here is a Hybrid product sold at Home Depot DAP AMP Advanced Modified Polymer 9 oz good luck my friend.

    Hello Michaela, so cool to see you working together with your dad (AKA) your hero, it’s so refreshing with so much inspiration, no need to say what a stand-up job that man did raising an independent woman with the obvious morals and values of your mother. But as hard as it is going to be to allow yourself to attempt these new and unknown obstacles with honesty if you don’t know what something is or how to tackle=tools electric or manual, solvents, oil types, wiring -color chart example the gauge=wire size, for amps circuit in length and type, I know what you’re thinking WTF, but as your Dad empowered himself in his youth and even to-date tinkering and common sense goes a long way with auto repair and household upkeep it’s all about the principles of working with your hands to figure out how to make it work. I added that mambo-jumbo in case you find yourself out of reach of your dad, you will not panic or despair because he taught you well, you’ll take a deep breath and analyze the situation you’ll hear his voice as you get your hands dirty fixing anything that will challenge you, you will also rejoice when you overcome and continue your voyage. Be Strong, God Bless, respectfully Selbord.
