When Spectrum News and The Texas Observer exposed Mike Miles’ funneling millions of public school dollars to bail out his failing charter schools in Colorado, the Texas Education Agency rushed to investigate and exonerate Miles. Problem is, the agency made the story even worse. Investigators not only confirmed Miles was in fact shipping millions of Texas tax dollars out of state, they admitted that state law is so weak, what Miles was doing was perfectly legal.
