Setting Up the Canaan Avalon Nano 3 to Solo Mine Bitcoin
got any msi clocks for 4070?
@@jediknight2350 I would try Aleo baseline since both are core based. Then work on the efficiency rates from there Core offset 300 Core clock lock 2400 Memory clock lock 5001 Power limit 240 if hiveOS lets you set
I truly appreciate your efforts that you put in making this video. I found several videos related to WeatherXM which were inconspicuous, but honestly i found the best video across the youTube i found it very helpful and most importantly the way you kept it so detailed till the end was so amazing it was crystal clear. Thank you for this and i also subscribed you I am from Nepal 🇳🇵 and considering to set up my own WeatherXM station I don't know would it be worth doing this or not. I am asking for your genuine reviews regarding this as you have been using it for the past couple of weeks. Would you recommend me doing this I would be very grateful if you could share your experiences and the daily earnings the WeatherXM generate. As i have seen other users earn an average 1.5$ to 3$ daily. How can a user maximize their daily earning
Good video
I happen to be expanding and hoping not to add to much power useage. My next purchase will be the IceRiver AL2 Lite.
Awesome! I found out my powerpanel is only 100 Amp. So I will likely need to expand in the future either a shed or mining location.
good vid, thanks
sweet
Thanks Bro i have fixed two avalon 3 nanos with your Video. The 4R7 smd had no contact and i fixed it with a soldering Iron and a heat gun on my own. They are working finde now. Thanks Bro
@@MksMikaaa glad you were able to fix it. I thought mine was broken within 24 hours since I decided to open mine up for the cooper heating. Hopefully you find a BTC block!
I had mine stop working like a week after the install and I have to bring it back down and hit the reset button on the underside of the unit. All has been good since then been a month now…..
Did you ever figure out why it stopped working? Which unit were you using? Hopefully mine doesn't do this, so far mine has running good for past week now.
I have the same unit as you and I’m not aware of the reason it stopped working was very happy to get it back working is less then 12 hrs
What temp did you set your heat gun too I have too do the same thing mine literally fell off I barely touched it 😂
So mine I just got from Home Depot for like 20-30$ and it had just a low or high temp setting. I did low temp, which was still hot enough and then I took out the whole board and since it small area, I heated on the opposite side. Underneath it.
@@MinerHutLLC gotcha you got a time limit so I can kinda gauge it?
@@jasonkidwell1767 it heats up fast, so I used flux to heat up and then used solder paste. Let it cool and then use a copper wick to clean it all up. Then flux again with solder paste. it was heated up within 10-20 seconds. Can practice on old boards or something to build up confidence
@@MinerHutLLC pppsssshhhhh fixed..... And it's not coming off this time shame my solder joints look better than a Nasdaq company tisk tisk
@@jasonkidwell1767 hahaha glad you got it fixed! hopefully you find a block!
💯 much appreciated, Blessings, great delivery 🙌🏾 🇬🇧
Don't happen to tknow the overclocking parameters in the miner? I hate setting clocks in HIVE and there's always an issue.. GPU 02 ERRORS: SET POWER LIMIT: 180.0 W [Not Supported] SET GPU CLOCKS LOCKED: 1470 MHz [Not Supported] Max Perf mode: 4 Attribute 'GPUMemoryTransferRateOffset' was already set to 0 SET MEM CLOCKS LOCKED: 5000 MHz [Not Supported] I usually set overclock params in miner itself, which has always been worked great, Unfamiliar with this miner. EDIT: All cards are the same (3070's), so I don't know why this one is acting out
Did you set core offset 200? And try to lower the memory clock in increments. So far I don’t know see any custom parameters for overclock within aleominer
@@MinerHutLLC Got all working (so far) on core offset 200 | CClock 1500Mhz | MemLock 2500 Mhz. Got 3Mh/s hashrate now which is what hashrate(no) says. Oh, thanks for the video brother.
FIXED: (Had to add aleominer1.log at the end) Some sites said aleominer.log, but you need to add 1 at the end. tail -f log command doesn't work my rigs at all.. in the webshell it says: tail -f /hive/miners/custom/aleominer/aleominer(.)log Also hashrate(no) says 0.33 kHs on rtx 3070 - I have 3 so should be 999~1Mhs, but I'm only getting 571.6 kH.
Yea some of the info out there currently is all a mess, that why I got this video out to hopefully help fellow miners out. It that the initial start? Or have you waited to ramp up with it? Like I said it’s practically no mans territory with it comes to overclocks. Will have to play with the OC more.
@@MinerHutLLC I have 9 rtx 3070, according to hasrate it should be 3Mhs with core 1470, memlock 5000.. I tried upping the core to 1680 and it slowly went up to ~3Mhs buit then dip fast again, hard. Hashrate usually have good OC settings, but I no where near it. Using HiveOS
@@gunnarstensrud8713 Got to take account the pool mining and also how far the only pool is in Asia. Not even sure how Hashrate even got those OC's...I either play around or wait until other people found a good OC with efficiency.
Thanks!

What is happening with this particular video? Totally lost. Sorry bud but can’t make sense of your words. It is like you are making this after a bunch of drinks or have suffered a stroke or something. Seriously! And I sincerely hope not! Maybe have an outline made that can be followed along…
Just feedback. I watch a lot of your videos and appreciate them. I had a really hard time following today. I own a couple IceRiver miners and have some experience. The speech was really broken up and difficult to follow. Thank you and again appreciate your videos.
Hi thanks for the feedback, I just noticed that the usb cable that connects to my mic is loose. So going to replace. Apologies for any unanswered questions. I think I will start going through as a script rather than just speaking my mind.
so,i need a new wallet?
no if you already have one previously, it will work.
So would I be right in saying, because you took the cover off to add the heatsinks, you may have knocked a resistor near the US-C port and thankfully you was able to repair it.
Probably was a bit of both, with removing the frame, and then adding a taller copper heatsink. Yeah but I'm glad I was able to fix it.
My resistor pops off by touching the heatsink ......2 Avalons with the same problem, I suggest to drill some ventilation holes near the us-c !!!
@@webite9947 yeah they are very sensitive! Were you able to solder back on? And remember these are heaters so I assume they should be running hot! Not too much cooling can lower hash rate like the IceRivers
@@MinerHutLLC let you. know asap.... because I've two miners to fix .....
Thank you for this video, I hope you will continue to make more videos on this nano. Please rotate your phone to film in landscape mode for future videos which will be a massive improvement! Thanks again
Have you got any so far
@@Crypto_usd no I wish! It’s a very low chance but not impossible as someone found a block about month ago with a BitAxe around 500-550gh
Hi, very helpful video. Thanks for that. Is a specific Bitcoin wallet necessary? I tried using a Bitbox wallet, which is always rejected. Sorry for the probably dumb question, but I am a newbie in solo mining. Thanks
@@DanieloEmm If you are mining to a cold storage wallet and solo mining BTC then you should have a BTC wallet address.
I found the error. The address was not rejected. My browser just didn’t display the entries correctly. It was due to my antivirus software. Thank you for your quick response 👍
OC i not energy efficient.
@@jorostoikov1 could always host as an option for a cheaper rate :)
Good vid. I like the pb farmer a little better, easier, safer. The copper heat sink link takes u to the power supply. Pls fix
@@Pepaw-Bill oh really? Let me fix thanks for pointing that out! I like PBfarmer as well for all the data charts and not having to upload different OC firmwares.
I had the same issue with mine and Canaan support took care of the issue, got it back last week fixed and it’s mining away.
Oh nice! Did you try to open it as well?
I have one with 676G and another one at 700GL with chip temperatures below 67 and board temps below 66.
@@escorpion2609 That some good airflow 👍 Nice!
Awesome video!!! I have to make a day of this soon.
how do solo mine locally? I mean solo mine to my bitcoin full node.
@@raportmercado1165 are you running Ubantu? You would create an account to run ckpool using Bitcoin Core. Setup the ckpool service and start it. Then you would to test to make sure your network is active and then enter your ipaddress:port of your ckpool machine in “mining address”
@@MinerHutLLC I run opensuse, if ckpool is a service maybe I could use it in the distro.
@@MinerHutLLC thank you
Hello friend, could you show how to update the Rigel miner with those Github files. I really don't know what to do with those files and how to put them in hiveos. Thank you so much.
Are you using HiveOS? It should already be release and you would just click the Upgrade within the Web Gui within HiveOS. You wouldn't need to use "wget" command
@MinerHutLLC, thank you friend yes. When I saw the video I didn't have the update available in HiveOs yet and wanted to update manually, but I didn't know how to dump those files from the Github page to the HiveOs system.
@@dufour888 Oh gotcha, I will make sure to add if there is an early update, I can make sure to add in the details
How did you get the cover past the usb port?
@@jasonkidwell1767 I took off the opposite side first and then I had to push the shroud forward a bit from where the usb c port. But I said it quite dangerous since you might damage the usb c port.
@@MinerHutLLCyeah I finally got it off it was super hard
@@jasonkidwell1767 Congrats! What are you plan on doing? I did mention in the video I did cut off more of the shroud so I can just slide the top with ease now. :)
@@MinerHutLLC yeah I did cut it to fit better I only added heat sinks to the vrm and the USB mosfet so far everything is ok I haven't ran on high mode yet tho
I realized I entered in the wrong parameter, it suppose to be "--enable-fork" apologies
I watched several set up videos and yours was by far the best, most organized and to the point. Thank you for making this video! I hope your channel is successful. I am now a subscriber and looking forward to seeing what you offer going forward.
Hey no problem thanks for watching! I try to help folks out that aren't as tech savy or new to the crypto space. I'm not one of those big crypto youtubers but hopefully will try to get up there some day.
Hello, I had mine delivered yesterday as im in the UK. They are very worth it having a lottery miner and love my Nano 3 as i am mining BCH as hoping to hit a block. I will probably buy another and next do Digibyte as you got to be extremely lucky to hit a BTC block but if you do well definitely be happy but i think BCH is more of a realistic chance rather than BTC now.
I was planning on buying more too! So in winter time it can heat up all of my rooms. I do agree probably have a better chance of getting a BCH block. I would just be happy to find a block reward!
