Why single out Catholic priests when there are other religions that practice celibacy? When Christianity was first starting out, the major religions of the time that worshipped the Greek & Roman gods had temples that employed prostitutes & orgies were part of their worship. God allows bad things to happen because bad things happening is punishment for disobedience. Instead of blaming God for not stopping bad things from happening, instead blame man(human race) for disobeying God in the garden of Eden.

To me the answer is fairly simple people are not perfect and never will be till Christ returns and therefore you cannot form any church or group that will be perfect. the main thing to look for in a church body when trying to find one in the western world is how focused are they on Christ himself if Christ wasn't concerned about it we shouldn't be concerned about it. Christ taught it we should teach it.
