I didnt know / dont think Rajdoot was "banned" in India. As an '80s teenager, I have enough memories of motorcycles of 70s and 80s. 1. Rajdoot 175 was definitely popular - and competed with Yezdi, Jawa, and Royal Enfield 350 (in the motorcycles segment). "Bobby" Baby Rajdoot was never a mass market bike. RD 350 was a twin-cylinder bike that had a short life overall. Suvega, Luna, and TVS mopeds were for local commute. 2. What changed in the mid 80s was the launch of 4 new 100CC bikes - Yamaha RX100, TVS Suzuki 100, Kawasaki Bajaj 100, Hero Honda CD 100 (4-stroke). They changed the aspirations of Indians, and also increased the availability of the bikes (Vaguely recollect how people would wait for 3+ years to get a Bajaj Chetak scooter) There were a few 50CC "bikes" too like Explorer, Silver Plus, BSA Falcon,... 3. Non-compliance with changed emission norms could have been the strongest reason for the disappearance of most of these - only Royal Enfield rediscovered and stayed on, while Jawa / Yezdi were reborn recently. Overall, "ban" is probably not the best word!

What nonsense? The Rajdoot went out of production 35 years ago. There was no Bjp government then. Why show Gadkari picture in the video? Rajdoot was not banned. All Two stroke engines were banned in the early 2000s. Rajdoot too was two stroke, But it stopped production ten years before that. No buyers for it after the Indo-Jap 100 cc bikes appeared on the scene.
