Cub Cadet ZT2 50 Owner Review - 13 hours in
Переглядів 21 тис.4 роки тому
Review of my Cub Cadet ZT2 50 after 13 hours of use. Top features and why I chose it over the ZT1 series mowers.
Check the gas when you need a piss.????
I just bought a 2023 model picking it up this week... Thanks for the video
Any updates on this mower?
Any issues with Tuff Torq TZ 350 transmissions? Not sure why they went with this transmission?
I’m curious how is the blade suction to raise up the grass blades? The last mower I had put the blade low to the bottom edge of the deck and the suction was marginal at best.
One of the best things about the zt2 is that it has a serviceable transmission. The zt1 transmission is sealed.
zt2 w/60" fabricated deck here. 2 years in, and the fabricated deck is literally coming apart at the seams. metal under the exit chute broke off a year ago, metal on the other side is bent backwards and leaves yard scars in reverse, multiple weld pops across the top. have a cub tractor with a stamped 46", and that thing has held up wayyyyy better. stay away from the fabricated decks, they look beefier, but are craptastic.
I have a 2021 ZT 2 with 108 hours. Have had no issues from the mower. Did have a issue with uneven cutting. Tire pressures were uneven and the deck was out of level side to side. That being said, only issues were from me not keeping up with the little things.
That's what she said ..she definitely like the extra 8 inches ..lol jk but this is a nice lawn mower
I just got exactly the same model ZT2 50. You're right it is a nice zero turn mower. I also choose the Kawasaki engine because of my experience with that engine on an old 1996 John Deere LX172 with a Kawasaki that basically never dies. Well last summer we thought it finally did. I had a mower mechanic checked it and the issue was bad fuel. After it got fixed it runs and mowed nicely again.
HARD TO FIND 50 WOULD LOVE THE 60, BUT BIGGER TRAILER 🤔😫
Your air filter missing foam pre filter wrap around?
Weird, my new zt2 50 doesn't have the hydro reservoirs. It does have the 2800 hydro's and are serviceable.
Checking in...looking at purchasing this. Any updates 8 months later? Do you still like it? Any issues?
I like the extra 8”..... your words exactly 😂😂😂
Man if I had a dollar for every time I had a girl tell me that lol
I'd be broke
@@kentuckyleisure4289you and me both
At 1:52, that's what she said!!
😂
Do you happen to know the width of the mower with the chute up? Thanks
I measured my ZT2 50" for you. The width is 60" with the chute down and right about 52" with the chute up all the way. You'll probably need some kind of bungee or such fashioned to hold it up for you. The chute is flexible and might yield to a little bit tighter space with no issues but the rear tire on that side extends just about that far out itself.
@@TJK0ng Hey man, appreciate the video. My gate is 60" exactly, would you think it would be fairly simple to adjust the chute to drive through the gate to get to the backyard? Do you think this would work for us, or should I get a smaller deck?
@@troycogswell3550 The 50" deck would squeeze through a 60" gate and the chute is made of a pretty rugged plastic that would no doubt survive catching just the end of it many times should you just leave it down but after time it would probably wear out. While it probably would be pretty easy to fashion a bungee to hold it up while you squeeze though if it were me the repeated having to bend over or step off the mower every time to do so would probably lead me to regret not just getting a smaller deck OR building a bigger gate. Cub Cadet does have 46" and 42" ZT1 models that you might be happier with in the long run. FWIW our old gate was just 46" so I built a 10' double privacy fence gate just the weekend before bringing home my new ZT2. Was a LOT of work and a few pennies to get it done right but I'm glad now I've no issues getting the mower or a vehicle into the back yard now. Turns out it saved us a lot of coin too when we had to get a BIG tree taken out as the difference in price by any of the companies we got estimates from between a tree they could get a lift truck to versus having to climb it and drag everything out was a couple mortgage payments. 8^O
You don't use car oil in a Mower...Change It
Why even bother commenting when you don't know WTF you're talking about? The Kawasaki FR691V manual specifies you can use 10W30, 10W40 , SAE30 or SAE40 motor oil with an overlapping/corresponding temperature range for each. According to the manual, 10W30 is OK for -4°F to about 95°F. FWIW I bought the same model mower the end of last season and am about to do the first oil change on it with it showing 8 hours. FYI the manual does actually call for the first oil change at 8 hrs (and FWIW the Cub Cadet ZT2 manual calls for changing every 50 hrs, so there's that). And although it's overkill according to the recommended service intervals I'm also going to be changing the oil, air and fuel filters and plugs while I'm at it so I just bought the Kawasaki 99969-6543 kit that includes the OEM of everything. I'm just used to changing everything all at once every year whether it calls for it that often or not and it's served me well in the past. I have zero complaints with this mower so far. I'll be super happy if I get half the 20 years out of it that I got out of my last Cub Cadet.
do you know if the zt2 has any deck vibration problems?
Does this mower cut good at full speed Thanks
Yes it does. I have had no issues with bogging down at full speed or even uphill.
I also bought a ZT2 50" but I had a few issues. First notable one was the left side hydro was wet with oil around the wheel hub area and near the mounting points to the frame. The second issue was that it came to me with quite a few battle scars and scratches. My local dealer felt bad for me so he persuaded the local Cub Cadet area rep to authorize a replacement mower instead of bringing mine in for repair. Fast forward about a week later and they delivered another mower. This one didn't have any battle scars but there was a small area near one of the mounting bolts on the left hydro that had some oil moisture as well. It wasn't nowhere near as bad as the first mower so I just cleaned the area really good. I checked the next day after I mowed and it's still dry for now. I hope it stays that way because I'm not going to have any patience with owning a brand new but defective mower that cost me almost $4K. This leads me to wonder what does this say about Cub Cadet's QC department? Are these people not even testing these things before they leave the factory? How does a brand new mower leave a factory with a leaky hydro transmission?
Ozzie Alarcon That sucks, I would not be happy either. Have you come across other owners online that have had the same issues? First I have heard of that particular problem but something to keep an eye on. The biggest complaint I have heard is the deck vibrating too much but I have not had that issue with mine.
Wondering if your rear tires are 2 or 4 ply, mine came with 2 ply, thought the upgrade from zt1 model were bigger 4 ply tires. Called CC & was stonewalled by CS.
Stephen Milnikiewicz Just checked mine Stephen, I have 2 ply as well.
@@robstevenson3700 Thanks, wish they came with 4 ply, other wise it's a great mower very happy with mine.
I've got ZT 1 liking it 30hrs💪🏽
Big Son's Lawncare congrats man, it’s an awesome mower! I like what Cub Cadet has done with these and there is really no comparison for the price range that they offer them.
@@robstevenson3700 Totally agree💪🏽
Good video
