What sort of setup are you rocking mate? How long of a leader do you typically use?
Hi mate, the rod was an orvis Helio 9 foot 5 wt with an orvis hydro's reel. The line was SA textured trout. And I use a 12 foot 3X rio leader to a tippet ring and then another 4 foot of 4X trout hunter fluorocarbon.

The landing net is as wide as thr creek not river
How do you accurately cast to such a narrow stream, it muse be very difficult? It certainly is beautiful scenery.
I spend a lot of time on these streams so it's just a practice thing. If you're throwing nice tight loops you'll be more accurate as well.
Some tight, skillful casting needed there mate, nice work, not easy!!

ok reading through the comments i guess you wont fish and tell... pity because i will be down your way soon for a week, be nice to fish in small streams.... i enjoy that type of fishing opposed to open lakes, i dont get the time to fish but always catch and release.... I'm 100% vegan :)
Thanks for the like and subscribe. I will keep this stream a secret as they don't do to well with pressure. But you can find similar streams by following bigger rivers up into the head waters which are these small streams.
I bought that rod and reel combo so much fun
They're very good. Makes a pound fish feel like 4 pound.

Tenkara for the win on this stream. Also thought the size of the net may have been a little ambitious. As a mainlander any hint of a location would be welcome.
Look similar to the Camden fishing before the Dam was put in place.
What's the creek called?
These creeks are beautiful but the pressure will increase as many anglers don’t want to fish damned rivers whose water quality has deteriorated over the last 20 years. State govt have decided hydro and dairy farming is more important than clean rivers

Such a elegant little stream , you think the regulations would be really strict. No getting into the water, keep fish in the water at all times . You just dont see fisheries like that .
Yeah it's a great little stream. The thing that protects it is that not many people know about it or where it is

grew up in Burnie now live in the USA. Took up flyfishing in the USA only to find some of the best fly fishing was in my home state. When i come back to visit family i usually head to the highlands with a guide and fish some local rivers. Never fished the western lakes - definitely want to go up for 3-4 days .... on my next trip in 2022

Trout fishing is the best the Colors on a trout are so vibrant and clean probably one of my favourite species to fish for I also do UA-cam but I am just 14 year old kid I do my best but i really enjoy your content 😊
