might as well
No doubt that's derek trucks on slide
Song is a Fucking Killer
Only played three times, all in '78. Was fortunate to have seen (heard) the maiden voyage at Red Rocks.
Never gets old.
I have fond memories of Corlitos California after the Dead shows, a bunch of us were staying in a beautiful cabin. It was an unforgettable time full of good vibes, smiles, love, and peace. A time to remember. My friend Steve used to play this song to me along with Little Wing by J. Hendrix on the piano. These memories are engraved in my soul.
the grateful dead makes me see the meaning in life. It keeps me alive. when im suicidal i put some on and it just fades. i fucken love being alive and i love the dead. Life is bittersweet and gorgeous
lost my uncle john and this is the last song he listened to he was the biggest grateful dead fan ever
epstein island no. 1
Love it. If i had the world to give i definitely would give it to her, its the least i could do
This entire show is so good
❤️
Keystone was so epic!
This song is one of my favorites of all time, and of been an audiophial since 1967. When Jerry takes off into the stratosphere in the late when the band can’t keep up…that’s Heaven
I became a Deadhead on October 13th, '86. A buddy and I saw Robert Hunter in Houston, TX at a small club called Rockefeller's. This was around the time that Jerry slipped into a diabetic coma. Hunter played every song he co-wrote with Jerry and Bobby on his acoustic guitar and harmonica. It was a magical evening.
Our family friend passed away yesterday, he was a big dead head. Rolled one up, put this on and smokin it for him. Rest in power brother. Till I see you in the next life Adam ❤️
They say this was Jerry's favorite
It's so pure and beautiful
Epic song for the one you love
I love this jam so much! Magnificent

I was thinking, and I fell upon this song it has a touch of corizma and attitude filled with juice and jive play on guys great job!
This is a song that could have been written by John Lennon or Elton John. If it was released by anyone else other than the Grateful Dead, it would have been a big radio hit. I call it one of their best songs.
Wow if this doesn’t sound like a George Harrison song, I don’t know what does. It’s definitely the best George Harrison song that he never wrote. What a beautiful masterpiece.
No it doesn't.
@@Mike-yy7tp you joking or what man? It sounds just like George Harrison. Jerry was a huge George fan anyway. So it sounds to me like his tribute to the guy. But really? Doesn’t sound like George?
@@greypilgrim6157 yea....I don't feel that either
@@oilyshoes9969 let me clarify here. I kind of forget sometimes that my comments might require some context. When I say it sounds like a George Harrison song, I don’t mean it sounds like a George Harrison Beatles song. It really doesn’t that much. And if I had to compare this song to his handful of solo career hits that most fans have heard, this song might not sound too much like any of them either. But if you are a huge George fan, like the kind that has, in addition to all the Beatles stuff of course, all or most of his ten post-Beatles solo albums, and have listened to these extensively, then your opinion is more likely to be different IMO. That’s because this song is definitely in the style of some of the more deeper cuts, particularly around the time of George’s 1977 album “33 1/3” (which is a real clever album name as not only were all LPs at that time manufactured to revolve at a rate of 33 1/3 RPMs, but the album was also released about four months after George’s 33rd birthday, and so he was 33 1/3 years old at the time). I’m not saying you’re not a big George Harrison fan. Nor am I saying that you’re not familiar with his albums or deeper cuts. You may very well be, and you may still think this Jerry song doesn’t sound anything like George Harrison. And you wouldn’t necessarily be wrong. That’s the great thing about music. It’s a highly personal thing that we all share, but we don’t all share it in the same way, nor do we need to or should we. And who am I to tell you you’re wrong? You obviously like good music I mean you’re here responding to a Jerry Garcia song so you’re doing something right!
@@greypilgrim6157 it totally does. Good Call Similar lead guitar tone on George Harrisons My Sweet Lord Similar vocal styling as well, pleading crooning I dig it
Used to love to listen to these guys in the real world. They weren't the best at what they did, they were the only ones who did what they did - 🎼🎹🎸🥁🎷🎸👍🗽
I hear Beatles in this song!
Poor sap never knew she don't give af about gifts

I didn't know this song when I heard it covered in the film, Our Friend. I have been searching for it since! It's such a sweet song.
Same thing. Just saw Our Friend a couple of days ago. Such a lovely movie.
solo at 2:46... Jesus. That gives goosebumps.
who plays this?
Jerry Garcia!
The song says it all
Bad well pump fix it might as well might as well
When my parents were teenagers, apparently my dad gave my mom a card that said "If I had the world to give, I'd give it to you....but all I have is this card" 😅❤️ I love that. And I'm a second generation Deadhead and I always come right back for more music ...Or the music never stops! ✌️
I would have loved to see the Grateful Dead live, but I was born ‘08. Relying on my dad to tell me stories of the concerts he went to :)
All good man, as long you keep the music alive, that's all that matters!!! (~)};
@@ericdobbyn6625 it’s easy to keep it alive when the music never stopped! :) i ended up seeing dead and company live a few years back, and i’m eternally grateful! the dead will never die ❤️⚡️💙
I saw Legion of Mary w Martin and Merl arguably the most fun of Jerry’s bands April 75 at the capital in NJ John Scher produced
No offense but offense to the Beatles cause this is by far a better treatment of the chord changes they used all the time but yet they never evoked the kind of emotion I feel Hearing this. Or the dance I wanna do when I hear that chorus or solo.
I live the life I love and I love the life I live!
Even trolls need a break sometimes. This song is that break 💆
Agree. How Can you troll this song? You’d have to be an asshole of epic proportion’s to do so. I’d like to think such a person does not exist. And if they do they should probably be removed from society. Yes I mean that.
I love anyone who has a place in their heart for this...for the other 3 people on earth who don't like it...whether you like it or not, you suck. But I still love you.
I should certainly say that I Might AS WELL!!!!!!
