Thanks for the video. That cop was out of control And should be retrained or fired. Angry, emotional and let his ego control him. I was driving by and stopped to help a boy who was lying prone on the ground, arms outstretched. Blood pooling around him. I stopped my Jeep just feet from him and there was still the smell of gunpowder in the air. I was worried because I had no idea where the shooter was. The bullet hole was obvious and he was bleeding profusely. I yelled at a woman who was across the street to call 911 (she already had) I gave her some information to relay to incoming police, fire, and ambulance as a heads up. I went to check for more bullet holes and found a gun on the person. I rendered it non-operable and placed it on the floorboard of my Jeep for safe keeping. I returned the boy and started cpr. He had no pulse and was not breathing. Shortly after starting cpr, he gave a long agonal breath that would continue every minute or so. Still no pulse, carotid or radial. Ima retried fireman and have been in this very situation more times than I can count. When the first officers arrived on scene it was a little tense but normal (I’ve been on thousands of these scenes over my career) I informed the first two officers that the gun I took from the kids waistband was in my Jeep and was not loaded. A really nice Sargent asked me to step aside and let his guys take over so he could interview me. Things were busy and the sgt needed clarification on some aspects. So as we are talking he asks for my ID. I told him it was till in my Jeep and took a couple off steps to go get it. He told me that I could not because it was part of the crime scene. And that my Jeep would have to stay as well. I told them “I just stopped to help, my stuff isn’t a part of the crime”? Then the asshat shows up. Typical overbearing. Cop with a chip on his shoulder. “This is my scene!” Points at me “get the fuck out of my crime scene.” Even though I was talking to the sgt at the moment under the orders HE had given me. Emotional cop won’t let it go and keeps yelling at me. So, i’d had enough of his rudeness, unprofessionalism, and unhinged emotional outbursts and told him off. He didn’t like that and continued to IGNORE HIS VICTIM WHO WAS FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE and instead chose to keep yelling at me. He then came completely unhinged, came running at me, grabbed my wrist and twisted my arm up behind my back in a pain compliance hold. (This is where the video starts I asked the nice lady across the street to please video. THANK YOU!!!!) I instantly felt my shoulder pop and an excruciating pain shoot through my arm. He then decided to get all in my face and had the audacity to YELL right in my face after I asked him to back off and stop potentially exposing me to Covid. I told him to stop lecturing me and to go back to his victim. That he was too emotional and had lost focus of what his priorities were. His next moves explain everything. His ego was hurt and he was going to show me who was boss. He handcuffed me and stuffed me in his car and said he was going to take me to jail. For talking back to him. Ego much? That’s where the video ends. Any cop who would lose his cool and abandon his duties in the middle of a dynamic crime scene (that he had been on less then 90 seconds before causing problems) should, at least - get retrained and counseling Maybe go on a small vacation, decompress, and get some anger management training. Quit or be fired. A cop that is this emotionally fragile and can’t control themselves is a disgrace to the badge and should not own one. Let alone a gun.

I would say contact internal affairs like the interim chief mentioned over and over during the police departments community outreach night, but see the TRUTH is. We DO NOT have an internal affairs department/division. It’s all handled by one of their very own detectives. So much for accountability and honestly from our department. This is just another example of why the sheriffs department needs to come and take over Santa Paula. We were quick to disband our fire department which no one ever had any issues with but our corrupt police department. Don’t you even dare mentioning the obvious

Stupid fascist cops don't know what they are doing. Calling cops for help in Santa Paula is pointless in most cases, might as well just save yourself the headache and ask for the ambulance. Who is the cop in the video?

Joe Garces I’m sorry this happened to you bro. And further more thank you for your service as a FIREMEN. It’s sad when cops do this. It’s even sadder when they attempt to save face on their Facebook page. Lol go to their FACEBOOK page SANTA PAULA POLICE DEPARTMENT and they have the nerve to put on their Facebook that “SPPD and VENTURA COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT arrived on scene and rendered aid immediately”. Smh. That’s cops for ya. Notice the good cops helping out this firemen who obviously was being violated ............ Me either ;)
