Hi.. I am gp working in uae.. Can I write mrcs exam directly after mbbs?
Hi, yes the main requirements to sit is have a primary medical qualification (ie mbbs) that is recognised by the general medical council (GMC) to register
@ChorKuanYew ok..thanku dear
Thank you Dr. Chor for sharing your experience. Its reassuring and very inspiring. In addition, also thanks for sharing your resources
Thanks for the feedback. Glad I’ve been able to help.
Hi Dr Yew, I’ve passed my part A many years ago, planned to take part B. Is EMRCS good enough for revision?
For part B I believe if you had to choose one bank, I would go with PassTheMRCS. EMRCS is not as comprehensive for part B.
@ sry, I meant revision for Part A before taking Part B
@@winterkknight if it’s just Part A, yes then it’s more than enough
@ thank you!

You’re welcome. Glad to have made your day!
Your voice is inspiring the candidates keep going ❤ Is MRCS benefit for residency training program in Australia?
Thanks! For Australia not so much because they have the GSSE (Generic Surgical Sciences Exam) which is their equivalent for getting into surgical training. But having done both the MRCS and GSSE, I would say preparing for the exams are similar
@@ChorKuanYew thanks for your reply....if someone passes the GSSE exam can he apply for training in Australia or he should pass the AMC exams in addition to it?
@@ebrahim3488you’ll first have to pass the AMC exam (if primary degree ie MBBS/MD is not from an Australian university), then only sit for the GSSE
Man you are truly an inspiration

Hi sir, I have recently graduated in 2023 and considering UK for postgraduation. Since it is necessary to complete core training, if one goes through MRCS pathway directly after Mbbs how do they get there core competence certificate and could they start at ST1 level??
Congratulations on your graduation! If you're considering the UK for postgraduation and plan to go through the MRCS 1. Core Surgical Training (CST): Typically, to progress in a surgical career in the UK, you need to complete Core Surgical Training, which usually lasts for two years to move on to higher surgical training. 2. If you aim to start at the ST1 level directly, you must have a recognized UK foundation programme or equivalent experience. However, it's uncommon to bypass CST unless you have substantial prior experience and qualifications that meet the UK's competency standards. 3. Alternative Pathways: If you have significant surgical experience from your home country, you might consider applying for posts that recognize this experience. Possibly, contact the relevant Royal College or a medical recruitment agency in the UK for specific guidance on your situation. Good luck with your postgraduation plans!

@@ChorKuanYew I do have a question , does sitting for DO-HNS post part A grants MRCS(ENT) ? And is it the same like Part B ? It's been very hard to find info regarding this .
Right know from what I understand DO-HNS has been replaced by MRCS (ENT) from 2022 (www.rcsi.com/dublin/-/media/feature/media/download-document/dublin/cpd/professional-exams/icbse-announcement-mrcs-ent-osce-name-change.pdf) I think it’s different from MRCS Part B from the guide document breaking down the content and syllabus Linked here: (www.intercollegiatemrcsexams.org.uk/-/media/Files/IMRCS/DOHNS/DOHNS-candidate-guidance/2022/MRCS-ENT-OSCE-Candidate-Guidance-Notes-FINAL-Jan-2022.pdf)
