BUBBLE BEAM │ CERN BL4S 2024 PROPOSAL
Team Bubble Beam, CERN, Beamline for schools 2024 video proposal!
⭐️Exploring DLVO Theory and Electric Double Layer through Microplastics and the Environmental Applications Therein⭐️
Microplastics, oftentimes disregarded in ecologist agendas, will bring detrimental effects on the future of all marine life and world food supply. Our team of nine dedicated students, a mix of nationalities and based in France, are STEM oriented and deeply focused on helping the planet however we can. We see the BL4S Competition as an opportunity to go kilometers beyond the classroom and school level on particle physics at CERN or DESY, the world’s leading research facilities, focusing specifically on microplastics. These facilities are critical to realizing our experiment, as the crystal calorimeter and electron beam are necessary to explore the Electric Double Layer of Microplastics in our multipronged investigation, all of which is detailed below.
Members: Matei Constantinescu, Rohan B. Patel, Eleni Tzanakaki, Aya Maruenda, Sofie Odehnalová, Siim Pallum, Aurélien Pissard, Maximiliano Echegaray, Brendan Dupin
Mentor: Melis Hunt
Ecole Jeannine Manuel, Paris, France

DAY IN A LIFE ON AN IB STUDENT│classes, after school - aesthetic
Переглядів 16 тис.Рік тому
Hey guys, here's a short video of what a little day in my life as a first year IB student! For reference the classes I take are: HL Math, Physics & Chem and SL French lit English lang lit & Geography :) I hope you like it!! (this is just for entertainment purposes CAS) ⭐️ pinterest @ayamrnd ⭐️ insta @ayamarnd
watching this as a first yr as well lol
gonna start in feb, how's it been going for u so far?
@ it is actually really good! I am learning so much. People in my school made it seem so much worse, but as long as you do what you need to do and keep up you will be fine.
@@chloekobus That's good for you!! Do you have any specific advice or anything which you think would be helpful?
@ ahhh there’s so much I can say about IB, I think that staying up depriving yourself of sleep isn’t necessary, and something that I’ve found really helpful to me is making sure I at least open my folder/notebook for every class after school just so I can remember what I did that day because everything builds on each other. If you find yourself struggling in the slightest, immediately reach out to your teachers and go to extra help because if you’re a little bit lost and don’t do anything about it it becomes 10x worse every second that you don’t help yourself lol! A quote that I saw was “nothing changes if nothing changes” so really make sure your making the slightest progress on your EE and IA’s at least 5 mins a day bc you will be so thankful in the long run! Def get a planner too.
@ one of the biggest things I learned is that your teachers are just there to be there and give you information so it’s really up to u to go home and make sure you are revising your notes, making quizlets, and making sure everything makes sense to you because it’s not the teachers job to make sure it makes sense to you at this level, it’s something u have to do for yourself.
Nice to see someone else doing HL math & physics :> also making this for CAS is so real omg
Ah this is crazy! I'm starting IB in Paris as well this year! no wayyyyy
omg me too but im turkish bro i have a question how is ib in your country im just wondering 😭
@@ervkms i mean it's kinda the same everywhere i feel. like it's tougher than the standard curriculum. also more interesting imo tho
@@ervkms how is IB in Turkey? (or is the correct word in English now Türkiye? sorry I'm not sure which one is correct because I remember there was the whole thing where they change but it still feels weird just writing a Turkish word in the middle of an English sentence lmfao)
Just wondering how is it?? I'm planning to take IB do you still have a life besides IB
@ Hey! So imma write some of my thoughts but to answer really quickly, yes I think I made the right choice to do IB and I’m really liking it tbh. So I think the most important thing is realizing it’s a choice/commitment you’re making. You are making the choice that most of your life will be dedicated to school stuff (and CAS and your EE etc). Now for me that was the right choice I’m really enjoying that. And that doesn’t mean I don’t have a life or anything like I go to parties and see my friends on the weekends etc it’s not that crazy but like nearly all my time is spent on studying, EE, CAS, homework, classes, or extracurriculars. So really it’s up to you to ask yourself what you’re looking for in the next to year. If the answer is a really intense fulfilling curriculum where you get to learn a lot but it’s the main focus of your life, do IB. if the answer is a more typical high school experience where you go to parties and do a lot of extracurriculars and hang out every days with friends then maybe don’t do IB. But note IB is really as hard as you want to make it. For me it’s pretty intense because I’m trying to get REALLY high scores like near perfect scores. But if you’re just tryna pass it can be much chiller. Whatever you choose I’m sure you’ll do great! Good luck!
How many hours of CAS did this count for
Your english is so good? Are you part English?
This is like #1 thing not to say to someone
I have to ask u, where do u live? I live in Brazil and I am looking for some other places to apply for college, and I just loved the buildings of your city and its aesthetic!
In France! Good luck with your studies :))
this looks SO diff than my ib experience 🥲
Bear in mind this was in sept of dp1 😭 currently suffering
@@AyaMaruenda do yall get time for training. cuz im planning to do ib but i train for like 3.5 hours a day. and consdiering sports i need the 9 hour sleep too
also this is not at a level where it will be a sports scholarship or something, this will prob be seperate
@deleriss yeah i think that would be possible! I know a swimmer who does ib she trains twice almost every day! You're gonna be fine.
