High impedance dies not necessarily mean clearer sound. High impedance is useful if you are running certain tube amps to match their output impedance. Otherwise it screws up tuning (usually it skews the frequency response). There are headphones that come in 30 ohm as well 150 or 300 ohm versions.

Great review Aaron! As I'm a "normal person" myself and not an audiophile, it made all the sense to me. I was inclined to order these over the newer HD620s (mostly because of their history), now, I'm sure. In the future, I'll probably order the 620s too because they're closed. Subscribed to help the channel grow.

I've been trying to get to work from my windows 11 PC to my Steam Deck (desktop mode) connected to a dock, which is connected to a large 37" LCD screen. I got Barrier to function but it doesn't work correctly. When trying to transition to the Steam Deck the mouse jumps back from the screens edge a few times. If I keep doing this it eventually transistors over to the Steam Deck but the mouse cursor is not visible, and I can't return the mouse back to the server PC. Maybe Barrier doesn't like KDE Plasma? It keeps showing a message about "peek at desktop" at the bottom right, clicking LMB causes Barrier window to minimize and return. It's bizarre. I disconnected the external monitor, using only the tiny 7" screen, but it still behaved the same. Then I tried doing this the opposite way by having the Steam Deck as the server, while my windows PC was a client. THAT did work properly surprisingly, but it it's not really suitable for my needs since I need direct hardware level access to my Gaming PC for my mouse and keyboard (mouse drivers, keyboard settings, RGB control, etc), plus when gaming it can introduce a LOT of input lag.

The singular fact that your previous best quality audio was Airpods pro, makes this review worth quite a lot for me! For me, the best audio exeperience is also airpods, and so your opinion, while of course not an audiophile, has value *because* you're not an audiophile- like me, with the same prior experience. I just bought a DAC/AMP and am likely about to buy these, a choice helped to (probably) finalize on the HD600s. Also, 6:36 - sums up quite a lot when trying to learn things!

Great ,i share mouse and keyborad for all my PC from Raspery Pi with barrier. But to get it working also need to add exception in firewall and add client hostname as the alias in te server config.

Hello, thanks Aaron for the great info over here. You or maybe someone in your community can help me. I use a pc machine at work and also my macbook pro. The machine can solely connect through ethernet to internet and the macbook uses wiFI. I've tried your steps but the IP is not the same and I believe that is a *Barrier* for Barrier to work. Did anyone else have the same issue or similar? Thanks in advance

dud you need at least Fiio Q11 with balanced cable to power hd600 or new Fiio KA15 with balanced cable, Q11 with balanced output is like 5 times more power than BTR5.............lol......your video is not even funny, hello????????? you are not hearing HD600 through BTR5, you are hearing just noise...................please educate yourself on power and impedance and sensitivity................lol

guys you have to uncheck the ss option. on windows, click the barrier button top left and open settings. on mac do fn+f4

Ok no beats are better than the airpods but maybe to your ears they sound better I can't dismiss that, everybody's ears are different and pick up sound different as a result With the soundstage part, the hd600 are very intimate but the imaging ie the precision of where sounds are coming from within the stage maybe gives the illusion of a wide stage

HD600 is irreplaceable. There is nothing else in the world that sounds like them. Maybe Etymotic in-ears but essentially they're one of a kind, vocal-centric, heavenly experience.

What you told as "soundstage" is actually "imaging" Imaging : The headphone gives you an idea where each and every instrument is placed in the room while recording Soundstage : How far away the sound is coming from. If its intimate soundstage, it would feel like the instrument is near your ear. If its wide soundstage, it would sound like the sound if coming 4 meter to your right.

I take my hd 600s everywhere with just my iPhone. I just got like a 3 foot cable. They are pretty portable if you ask me.

ffs this program was so annoying to get working, your video is soooo lacking in information because you had it setup from the start. Things you didn't mention: 1) Disable SSL to fix connection problems 2) Settings -> Name all the PC you will be using 3) Client Server Settings - > Manually Add the PCs and Rename them I had to do these things manually to finally get it to work.

Hi, I hope anyone can help...so after moving barrier into apps folder on mac, and I try to launch it, I get a pop up that says: 'Barrier quit unexpectedly'....I have tried everything to fix it, but can't. Any help would be appreciated.
