1) Rem that comm has an end goal. What message would you like target audience to receive? Comm should tie to bottom line, profit. 2) Comm is not one-sided. Be sure that the message that is sent outside is also internally circulated. 3) Understand that comm is a joint effort with other departments. Collaborate with different teams as Fas as comm is concerned. 4) Consistency in brand voice(tone) is important. 5) Patience in getting results is key.
