Why I chose the Honda Vision & thoughts on picking a work bike. POV Morning delivery shift
Glorious weather and had a free morning - got some deliveries in. Thought I'd run through why I use the bike I do for work, as well my thoughts on picking a bike in general, for courier work in London. Enjoy & do comment your thoughts.

How did you move the mirrors?
You have no garage to store it in when at night?
I sub to the other channels you mentioned, and prefer your style of videos. Will you be recording any of your carpentry/joinery? That'd be cool.
Why not clean the bird shit off of the windshield.
Brilliant video for somebody considering buying one. You’ve convinced me. Coming to the end of a pcp on a xsr700 and I’m going to use the equity for a deposit on one of these On the lookout for one now not too far away. Thanks again
I love maxi scooters!!!!!😁
what insurance do you use for deliveries? (new rider wanting to start)
Zego Flex
good video been like idea of getting a maxi scooter for partner
dont like the front end frontend tidy it needs
why dont you use the Max 300 scooter
The Vision is easier and cheaper to run. I don't want to ruin my Xmax as well using it for couriering. The mileage quickly adds up
I brought a 400 burgman a year ago, my two motorbikes hardly get used
I totally get why !
Change the oil yourself.
The Honda Adv 350 is an alternative to this scooter also. I hear the suspension on the Adv is far better than any scooter including the Honda Forza.
Advs are very good - but lack much under seat storage and don't have a very large front screen which I don't like
Hello mate. what locks did you actually have? would love to know because i have xmax 300 and use 200 quid worth of locks on when im out. one of them locks is anti grinder lock liteLok x1 and a good alarmed disc lock. when parked at night i have 6 locks including 19mm chain.
Is your bike locked to anything at night? Doesn't matter how many locks you have on it if it can be picked up and put in a back of a Van. I had a good disc lock, litelok and a 19mm milenco chain on it
@@TheLDNCouriermines locked to a lamp post lol. i just find it strange why they lifted your xmax .... when you found it was the locks still attached ?. seems like they did a lot of work for a low value bike. you'd think they would drive to Berkely road and pick a nice one parked up there .... not saying xmax isn't nice but to thieves its low value, and if they stole to use for crime usually they go after tmax, vespa or piaggio beverly
Could you link me the screws you used instead of the original mirrors please?

Thank you for the review buddy, I have been thinking about getting one of those for ages now for a short commute, currently have a Speed Triple which I still want to keep, however its far too heavy for everyday use. After reading reviews from others regarding "Scooters" of this size "300cc - ish" the Yamaha Xmax 300 get the best compared to other manufactures, I did have a two stroke 50cc Yamaha Jog about 15 years ago to get me about locally and loved it. Anyway I have one question, even being 300cc how easy is it to "human" handle about, say for example your in a tight spot, would it be easy enough to lift "bounce" the rear end around a little? Only asking as my access for parking can be extreme at times, am in a city also. Cheers QQ.
Thanks for watching - I'd personally say the Xmax is a bit too heavy to be manoeuvring like you mentioned. Do have a go on one though if you can and see what you make of it
6k miles in 3 years as a courier!! I was thinking 6k a month 😮
Absolutely haha - I have a different bike for couriering
Love the bike but wish it was a bit lower seat...or narrower
Agreed
Yes Ipswich is less stressful but poor money unfortunately, London completely different ball game 😂
Just bought a 2021 a week ago. My son went to pick it up for me about 200 miles away , and trailered it back home. I left town to go to my summer home , so cant wait to get back and see and ride this scoot !!!! Thanks for video, ride safe.
Enjoy - hope it works well for you
So basically minimum wage after fuel is deducted I image
On this particular shift I'd say higher than minimum wage but 90% of the time after expenses you'd be doing well to be making minimum wage
@@TheLDNCourier not so bad on a bike but a car would be a struggle
Absolutely
Taxes too probably unless those apps withold taxes before paying you.
Great video! Really enjoyed getting a true owner's perspective on what it's really like to own an Xmax 300. I'm looking to get one in the coming years. Would be great to see videos of your trips into Europe on your Xmax :) thanks for a fantastic video :)
Thanks for watching!
Rear shocks are horrible. Stiff, back breaker. Will look into a YSS set. Currently using an air cushion.
I've been thinking about it too
Hey, its been awhile. I see you have grown alot!
Grown without uploading haha! Not doing any delivery work these days so not been sure what sort of vids to make
@TheLDNCourier Actually it seems like a few videos maybe around 3 times a month. I wouldn't consider that not uploading besides the 5 months. But hey, it works!
Jazmin Mall
4. Don’t have an XMAX
Why 3 hours and not 12 hours? you are losing a lot of money.
99.8 mpg? Is that imperial mpg?
It is - I've just toured across Europe on the bike and the mpg was 115!
@@TheLDNCourier is that freeway or country roads
Mixture but largely freeway
@@TheLDNCourier nice! What speed do you usually cruise at to get that mpg? Also, what gas do you put in it?
70mph - Unleaded E5 97
As with most deliveries....top floor. Truer words were never spoken!
C00L T/C/E
DId you manage motorway speeds 2-up on your way to France?
Yep no problem 👍 certainly 70 mph is fine
Xmax or Forza ?
Not much in it - but I prefer Xmax
Chutneyz is really nice actually, been there a few times when I lived around there.
How do you go about getting a licence to ride one I’m a car driver 52 yrs
For the 125 variant you'd just need to get your CBT (1 days training) For the 300 you'd need either a full license or an A2 license. To get these you need to do a CBT / Motorcycle Theory Test / Mod 1 test and a Mod 2 test. What determines what license you get is the power of the bike you do your tests on. To ride an Xmax 300 you only need an A2 license but I would recommend getting a full license unless your under 24 I don't see why people get an A2 license
Good video but do you feel vibrations at higher speeds of 50, 60, 70, 80 , 90 mph ? Any increase of vibrations ?
Not particularly - certainly nothing uncomfortable 👍
@@TheLDNCourierThank you for your reply.
Thanks for watching mate
Red colour; green colour some colour at least...what colours are those ,,?😅
I have been riding a Yamaha aerox for 2 years now and enjoy it very much (my first bike as a 50+ rider), the only problem has been the bluetooth adapter that drained my battery so I needed to disconnect it. Now I am starting to think about an Xmax 300 as my next bike, it looks really nice but I am not sure about pros and cons. I am living in Bangkok where we navigate a lot between cars too so a bigger bike may have some cons I guess. Also I rarely have roads practical for more than 90 kmh but still Xmax look really fun. Any thoughts about an upgrade from Aerox to Xmax are very welcome!
Thanks for watching - sounds like in your case it might be worth sticking to a smaller bike
@@TheLDNCourier Yes I think this is the rational answer but I am not all rational, it would be fun to try out a bigger bike anyway!
Haha in that case go for it!
I would reccomend going for a NMax. As someone that owns it and rides it a lot if you are not above 6.1 go for it. Its similar performance for cheaper and it fits everywhere, and if you can add a comfort seat option and you are set.
Well an NMax is more or less the same as my Aerox, just a bit more expensive.
I use a cbr 125 to do deliverys lol
A lot of changing gear then lol
Bro you good? 3 months no posting ;_;
All good! Thanks for checking in. Will get back to uploading real soon just been crazy busy with work (not delivering)
Great video!, can I ask where did you get the mirror mounts from - I think that is a must on the xmax !
Got mine off eBay a while ago, you want something like these: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315422486520?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=1xefgayrts6&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=QyhWHF9-QrW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I actually quite enjoy trying out new markets. There is another town 45 minutes north of where I live that I have been wanting to deliver in
Most riders here use cars, so I don't tip. I only tip bikes and mopeds. Half the time it's not evem the person who is supposed to be delivering it.
Hi dude, fantastic channel and content. I was wondering what make is your backpack.
Cheers! - All links in description www.hpa-shop.fr/gb/delivery-b...
Where is the battery? I here itsit's down below the windshield.
Correct - between the windshield and lights
@@TheLDNCourier ok thank you sir
22:35 hahahahha 😂😂😂
You have a fully bike license? Only asking as i cant see any L plates on your moped
Yep full bike license
@@TheLDNCourier nice one
Unfortunately anytime I've used uber eats, they've inflated the price of food, aswell as service charges and delivery charges on top, I could never warrant tipping on top of that. It's extortionate as it is. I do feel for delivery drivers as they price paid for someone the deliveries is ridiculous. Having to use cars/motorbikes etc, if you come across mechanical issues your deliveries aren't covering that in most cases. I refuse to use things like ubereats anymore. You delivery drivers are being straight up robbed by ubereats and all other companies
How much of that did the tax man take 😂 after watching your video i wouldn't mind doing this my self how do i go about it.
After expenses I doubt many couriers pay much tax at all ! You can sign up with Uber Eats and Deliveroo if they are onboarding in your area via their websites
I work in a factory, so it's pretty boring to be honest, but it has been fascinating watching you do your deliverys. So anyway great video. Just one question is there area's in London that you do deliveries in? Cheers from Australia
I'm based South East London and deliver all over inner london - thanks for watching from Oz!
