Sweet video!!
Thank you! I plan to make more as people send me footage of their Talons!
What time of year did y’all ride/film this ?
8:12 just a heads up & some tips if unfamiliar with this trail & obstacle. I’ve been wheeling Moab all my life & have done this & watched a thousand rigs hit this, just some fyi’s if u care & contact info for Moab & Sand Hollow same day free trail recoveries &/or repairs (+ parts of course if needed) don’t call local sxs rental shops , call the contacts /companies I’ve listed if ever needed. Will save you paying rediculius rates. Anyway, fyi you guys ran this trail backwards, not sure if it was intentional or not. This trail of other convoys are on it going the right direction can really get you all jammed up & in some dangerous spots having to back a convoy out of an obstacle it’s actually more enjoyable the opposite way it’s intended & safer. This obstacle at 8:12 flips full size trucks on their lid when they think their done at the bottom becasue their front passenger tire hits sand but it’s a hole and the front driver tire drops off that ledge and straight down into an even deeper hole, 18” deeper than the right lifting the rear into the air either cartwheeling or flipping on its top. I’ve seen 4 door long bed coil over ford dually on 46’s feeling Uber confident with the insanely long wheelbase , crap ton of weight and the stability of dualies just roll down this giving it a lil gas as he crest the last edge putting his front end in thst hole cartwheeling his full size dually crawler. Trick is if you’re ever back and doing it the right direction, when you get to it , hopefully there’s a spotter that sees it or someone recognizes it because as you crest the top it looks steep but pretty straight forward but you can’t possible see the 2 holes in the base dug by people going the wrong way up it digging massive holes. It slopes right so it puts all the weights of the vehicle on the back right tire leaning passenger and digs a wild hole as well as the left if locked. Then some poor schmuck going the correct way rolls down and you see the level sand off the next step which isn’t too bad if a drop tho no grip & he thinks it’s 6’ and then sand but really it’s 8’ into a hole stat stops forward momentum, everyone stomps the gas at that point to pull the front out setting the back down but you’re in a hole, binds up snaps the front eft shaft , sometimes the front u joint and occasional transfercase. Years ago I saw a 4 door rubicon do it and it completely sheered the right long arm mount to the frame passenger side , collapsed passenger cartwheeling onto its right side. Never try it down unless you’ve piled rocks in the holes. If you have a long wheelbase and somehow don’t roll, you’ll break stuff trying to tribe up out of the hole with the whole weight of your vehicle on the front tires. Never turn while trying to pull out either you’ll snap a knuckle. When people go the wrong way they kick the rocks and sand out of the holes and some buggy’s go dig out the rock piles for the challenge so you ALWAYS need to check the holes first. Also when piling up or filling with sand, don’t fill them both flat, leave the driver side deeper hole 6-12” lower than the right so you lean driver side towards the uphill wall slope that will stop you from cartwheeling left. When first timers fill the holes in flat , the last passenger drop is more gradual so driver side drops faster straight down putting the front driver tire on flat ground first and the right sides still comming down but as you hit sand the passenger rear often slides off the vertical V notch lip starting a cartwheel to the right and stomping on it often speeds the cartwheel up. The lower driver side hole leans you away from the downhill passenger slope to the side and into the wall where your entire sidewall makes contact with the driver leaving weight stipping you, giving you much more control and it’ll keep you from flipping on your lid. It’s one of the most common damage /roll obstacles in Moab because of that. A good guide or spotter will know the obstacle and go fill the holes offset left. People going backwards thst don’t know to fill them and offset the 2 holes climb vertical jsut about and their back tires drop into the holes , weight settles and the front shocks expand dumping you backwards on your lid , a larger tire will wedge in the hole agaisnt the sandstone so when you stomp it to bump it the rear tires are wedged and fixed so it literally drives the body in a backflip, and those thst throw it into reverse lead foot to back out of the roll go nowhere because their in holes and snap the rear driveline , u joints , sometimes passenger rear axle. So unless your a buggy go the right way (down that obstacle ) but fill & offset the holes. Only other option if you’ve got a very stable vehicle , like a 4 seater sxs on sticky’s with a spotter you can ride your passenger tires on the right side ridge of the V slot , just roll them right down the ridge to sand , it’ll put your left tires on the V notch slope but a good spot you’ll smoothly glide down , left side hitting the Normal passenger slopped end. The risky part there is if you slide off the ridge passenger , driver drops in the V notch onto your driver side & there’s no recovery or winch spots to keep you off the notch so you’ll eff up you driver side panels, body, cage with rash as you have to jsut drive out . If your passenger tires flip left into the notch same thing passenger side and a likely cartwheel right. Going reverse up the V notch looks easier but going up you’ll loose traction it’s steep enough & it’s really hard to keep spinning tires on the ridge and sidewall, once spinning , gravity will slide you into the notch damaging the passenger side or left in , driver side & possible lartween backwards. You guys did pretty good for sxs’s growing it backwards. Sorry for the long comment , I just don’t like seeing people get hurt & flops on your lip or into a V notch , natural instinct in a side by side is to stick your arm out or grab the putter roll bar which will shatter all your fingers when it roles or tear them clean off , arms buckle in V’s and often get pinned against the sand stone and cartwheels down , the centrifugal force throws your arm body and head just outside the opening rolling over them. I also hate to see broken rigs half way in, really ruins the drivers day and costly getting a tow and expedited repairs. A tip if you ever break and need tools, a welder & mechanic or trail tow , call Rory owner of Moab 4x4 trail recovery & Trail Mater UA-cam channel, his channels doing so good he does a lot of tows and on trail repairs for free , he’s on call 24/7 , a 4x4 and sxs genius mechanic & welder. Hell come row ya out to his shop or your trailer , fix everything if wanted or do in on the trail if desired. He’s perfected straightening control arms , tie rods with his winch , pulley & synthetic line. Hell fix failed engine parts, replace axle shafts , U joints & videos of him actually replacing an entire Jeep Dana 44 solid axle on the trail at night in the rain. Really awesome dude & often costs you nothing if you’re appreciative & nice. Call any other trail tow or repair and you’re getting 3X the tow rate & 2-3X mechanic/weld rates becasue the Moab shops are always so slammed. If you guys are going to hit Moab in the future , for sure put his contact info in your phone. Check his channel out if you haven’t to see his rock crawler tow truck tow massive rigs out of the toughest trails there, very impressive & being a life long Moab resident he knows EVERY trail like the back of his hand. If you end up deep into an insane trail & debating turning back, call his shop & they’ll advise you free, often driving in and guiding you out just becasue he loves it. If you ever go to Sand Hollow dunes or slick rock trails in St. George Utsh, (a Moab like trail experience but with a lot of sand between obstacles , if there and experince a failure , break etc call Matt at Matt’s Off-road Recovery , best dude ever & his UA-cam channel is so successful he does recoveries & repair labor for free also. No parts mark ups and will even pick up the part , bring it to you and fix your issue on site. (Most the time). THE 2 contacts for Moab & Sand Hollow for ANY issues. Hope any of this helps if ever needed. Bytheway awesome content & rides! Cool to see you guys doing difficult trails in SXS’s. I’m not big on music in off-road videos , I love hearing the engines, exhaust, turbos & being able to hear tire squeals to know what the rigs doing even if you can’t see it but that’s just my opinion, regardless it’s awesome content & worthy of wild channel growth. Stay safe & thanks for your efforts sharing your trail rides with the world!
What backup camera are you using with that app?
Very helpful and valuable Video! Greatly appreciated.
Let me in the seat I can also push the accelerator over a jump...

Photography 101 - never shoot portrait orientation video.
That's what people do now a days on tiktok, IG, reels, etc. I usually don't.
portals put a lot of stress on suspension components
yeah and offset wheels not helping either
Thank you for sharing MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎅🤶🎄⛄🎁❄️🌨️🥶 I'm just amazed at the skills of everyone involved (those aren't just friends, they are a True Friends), and the patience and persistence to make it thru that. 🏆🏆🏆 That really scares me, as I can only use one hand after a stroke. I don't know if I could have walked that far, either, especially in that steep terrain. 🤗🇺🇲🙏
Merry Christmas to you Dr. Mark! Well you can ride with me if you ever come out this way and you won't have to walk an inch!
Rediculous when the photographer deliberately and continuously tilts the camera to make everything look steeper !
Most of the time we are walking up that same obstacle with our free hand helping us get up the rock which causes a natural lean inwards towards the rock. They are steep enough to hurt you without any tricks.

I jut got the turn pro signal kit and am installing it now . Where did you get the back up camera set up from ? That’s nice thanks for the vid

Just curious do you have a particle separator or anything on the talon? I'm in east Tennessee and eat up my air filters can't imagine how bad it is in the desert
I actually don't. I should (especially because I sell them) but just haven't added one yet. I live in CO actually.
At least you got to redeem yourself. Whooo
It wasn't even hard haha! Fluke and kinda lame 🤣
Did you make it out?
