One hide, inaccessible (planter). Windy day pushing odor back against the building. Moji nails it!

One hide, inaccessible. Behind the stacked tables by the wall. Moji works this relatively quickly.

One hide. Search area includes grass. Lots of wind. Hide is under the seat in one of the picnic benches towards the rear of the search area. He finds it quickly but does not signal to me, works the rest of the area and returns to the hide, signaling me in time.

This was one of the largest interior search areas we'd experienced. I knew, going in, that there were three hides. The pass rate on this search was about 40%. I would guess that the "wall" hide threw handlers (and maybe dogs) off. That location was legitimate but a little "different"." Moji was just SUPER. Very focused, very thorough. We earned a pronounced on this search.

I know going in that there are two hides. You will see that I am slow to read Moji's cues. (I'm getting better.) Good thing he is persistent.

What you can't tell from the video is that the gazebo was simply one object inside a large exterior search area. We knew the interior of the gazebo was "in play" but there were numerous other walls and objects in the search area that were also "in play." Additionally, it was POURING. Moji cleared the entire search area before deciding to go into the gazebo. The hide was indeed in the center pos...

Moji in his first NW2 trial. He is spot on and so focused he even forgets to wait to get his treat at his first "find." By the way, I know going in that there are two hides. What I don't know is if they are both on one side of the partition or if they are split between the two. Also, it is a very very very rainy day.

Interesting that he appears to be picking up odor at the start line (initial turn to the right) but then decides to follow the straight line of boxes in front of him. Nonetheless, he is decisive and crystal clear.

This one was all my fault. Yes, we got it, but only because he took me back to source three times. Trust your dog. Always, always, always trust your dog.

Moji in his first NW1 trial. There were a lot of fascinating distractions in this old-style school room. Typically, Moji stays at source once he figures it out. Not so much in this search. But he and I finally worked it out.

Happy Birthday - what a happy pup!!
How your puppy is doing.. My dog I think have the same problem. ACL
Garry you had better watch out - looks like Moji can sniff out your candy stash!!
So impressive !!! I have three Shibas and they are all very independent, especially my senior girl. At one point we thought about trying agility training with the tri-color as she has a true one track mind. But she is not the most graceful pup nor patient so the balance beam could be a real challenge. Thank you for sharing your hard work and you beautiful girl with us.
Mine just likes to eat, sleep, and poop.
0:33 those are some scary eyes
Am i missing something? That was slow right? Or is that the point
Thanks for watching!!! To earn agility championships (Kiko has 4 of them) you need to be 100% accurate AND faster than the standard course time. That's how you get points. Some dogs are super fast but drop bars or miss contacts, so they earn no points. Some dogs are super accurate but not fast enough to beat course time, so again, no points. Kiko is right in the middle - - very accurate and fast enough to score enough points to earn a championship. Setting that aside, in this video she is 11 years ago. Yes, this is clearly slower than normal for her, but, as the saying goes, slow and steady wins the race.
Way to go!!! Love Shibagility.
Thanks for watching!
Running around the course celebrating afterward was the cutest!! Congratulations!
Thank you!!
Congrats, considering how hard they are to train I see this as and absolute win, they can be so stubborn hahahaha
Thank you! Kiko is a fabulous little shiba girl who adores doing agility.
Are Shiba initu and husky same . Because they look same . Can anyone explain
No they are not. There are quite a few dog breeds with similar characteristics (double coat, curled tail, erect triangular ears). Siberian Husky, Malamutes, Akitas, Finnish Spitz, American Eskimo, Samoyed, Norwegian Elkhound. But while they are all considered to be part of the genetic spitz family, they are quite different in origin and purpose. The Shiba Inu is a native Japanese breed that was bred as a hunting dog whereas the Siberian Husky was originally bred by the Chukchi people of Siberia as a sled dog.
@@Shibadogmom thanks for the information
Omg those nice airplane ears when the judge approach you guys, she was so happy to have done a good job❤️
Thank you. Kiko is just the best agility partner ever.
Congratulations!Especially won with Shiba Inu, they are smart, and independent, usually, Shibas do, what they want ;) Big hugs❤

Hi Jinx kennel in Wisconsin?
Are you the owner of Hi-jinx Shiba Inu?
Shiba Haki - No. The owner of that kennel is in Wisconsin.
Thanks! They are so adorable!
This must run in the family. Dante "sang" along with Sumo...I think he's more of a baritone, and he needs a little more practice. He doesn't have the range and essence of Sumo. I guess that just comes with years of practice!
rocked it!
Such a cute dog!!!
So intelligent looking!
Awesome, thanks so much for posting these, Amy! So fast, Westley and Mark!
great job, Mark and Diamond! Did you hear the people saying she's a long haired Basenji, lol?
