Just grabbed one, it is WAY more accurate than the one shown here. Without modifying it at all its picking up a quarter at 2"- done the same way as yours. And looking at the sensor in the tip it is only less than 1/2" from the tip. Maybe they are getting a bit better? Im going to try the resistor mod that someone else posted and see how that does

All you really have to do is rap it, tip down, on a harder surface a couple times. That’s all it took for mine. Also, to the question “what’s to stop it from slipping back again?”…nothing. If it does, you just perform the same operation again.

My Quest XPointer’s sensor is also about 3/4” from the end. Will it also benefit from this hack? With the GP Pointer, a simple but firm tap on the wooden railing of our deck sent the sensor to end of the tube. Little risk with a $16 device. I’m a little hesitant to do the same with my more expensive XPointer, though.

LOL I have been using a hammer & saw for 40 years now & can absolutely tell you alot of crap i see on a set of engineered plans is just that, CRAP! Man, if you're planning on actually using this for that... Youre gonna have a bad time. You need to "soft wash" this, bubba. Just spray it on and walk away. It eats ALL that organic material and kills it maining it take much longer to grow back than just powerwashing it. I could do that whole house in 2 hours, inclusing set-up & break down. Look into soft washing, brother.

Some of them already have the sensor pushed down and some have different sensors

This is fantastic... I came to know about this because he is actually doing the exact same to the Rutus Versa... I own several detectors by Nokta and own the Rutus Versa... He is clearly not that clever and literally gets followed by Deus and Manti owners ... I've called him out this week 26/12/23... His absolute rubbish spouted ... When he got proved wrong on a live feed he detected all my feed comments.... Well Done Dilek for calling this huxter out.

take off your rings on your digging hand when using pinpointer it will false constantly if your scanning a handfull of dirt with a ring on your finger
