ROLAND JV-80 JV-1080 XV-5080 FANTOM-X - 64 Modern Patches - Vintage Signature Soundset]
The set is made up of 64 patches, spanning from modern sounds and classic keyboard recreations to some famous presets from other instruments, programmed on the wonderful sounding JV-80 platform.
There's even a selection of templates, aimed at speeding up your own programming work!
The patches are programmed with the idea of using them in contemporary music productions and live settings, taking advantage of the fabulous quasi-analog attitude and grit of the Roland JV Series.
This set is programmed using the JV-80\JV-880 engine, but thanks to the backwards compatibility of the later JV\XP and XV models, it can be loaded also on these models as well. It needed some tweaks due to the different filters, but the intention of the patches is substantially the same.

I compared just the patches where the difference is perceivable. All the other ones are substantially the same.
You think it's possible emulate a Supersaw only using FM on a Yamaha montage or modx?
Yes, absolutely!
You're a serious player and a monster programmer on the DX-7! Patch 5, "RM Boards" is astoundingly analog sounding! I'm learning FM synthesis on my very own newly acquired DX-7 and I have yet to be able to coax these types of sounds out of it, but I *will!*

@@rm-studios I was thinking about the Montage for a long while, then realized I'm just not interested in non-workstation synths anymore. The days of stand-alone synths are long passed. For several thousand $$$ I want at least 16-part multi with full DAW integration

@@Tmokkeys Connect it via midi to a computer, download a free sysex librarian (snoize sysex for mac or midiox for windows). Use the librarian to send the patches to your XV. That’s it.

Some really pretty patches here! The SY99 is my all time fav synth (got mine in '92 - the Chick Corea endorsement got me, never regretted the, at the time considerable, investment) ... incredibly versatile and still (after 30+ years) super fresh sounding machine! Learning how to build interesting patches takes some time and effort, but it's absolutely worth it (even with literally thousands of HQ presets around).

So, if you could only have one, 77 or 99? I've heard they're noticeably different in sound character. That the 99 is technically more impressive and has extra features, but many people like the 77 because it's got a more gritty, vintagey, unique tonal quality. I'm gonna pick one of these bad boys up and I'd love your opinion!
Yes, the differences are the ones you listed and the fact that the multieffect section is more versatile on the 99. It all comes down to how much these added features matter to you. The sound character is slightly different, but is no night and day. Personally, my favorite is the 99.

Great playing however to be honest aside from. The Moss boarthe triton and trinity series were pretty bland and boring for me.
I understand your feeling. Especially with the Trinity, the presets really don’t fit with my taste. These instruments really need some fresh sound design work. I’ve made my small contribution :)

Thanks! The reverbs (and all the FX) are all coming from the D-50 internal effect processor. Which one is used depends on the single patch.

The Trinity is one of the classic powerful synths that make your trousers shake. With more modern synths the sounds are tamed by being too much processed.
