African Food in Toronto | Mesobs

Dropped in randomly on this East African restaurant as we were in the neighborhood. Even though Mesobs only has a one-star review on Yelp, it was fine during our visit. The reviewer did concede that the service was fine, which it was, they apparently just didn’t like the food. I’ve not had enough East African cuisine to judge, but our veggie platter worked for us. looks better than domino's pizza lol
LOL! Honestly, I'm not sure which one is better. You'll have to try it and tell me what you think.
Im doing my first solo trip from US to medellin …. Im so excited. Bcuz of you im going to the memory museum but i think ill uber from el poblado.
Amazing, you're going to have so much fun! I'm glad to hear that I introduced you to a new and interesting spot, so thank you for letting me know. Is this your first solo trip ever? If yes, take a look at this article I wrote recently about my trip to Medellin for the Solo Traveler blog, and also the blog has a lot of great tips to help you plan a fun and safe solo trip no matter where you go. Here's the link to my article - solotravelerworld.com/solo-in-medellin/
@@TravelEatDrink Yes its my first solo trip, im 28 female.... i went to brazil 3 month ago with a friend of mine, great time in Rio. thanks ill definitely read this. I'm binging ur videos im on the colombia coffee tour one, i like your videos a ton
@@Wintersnow889 I'm so excited to hear that you're doing your first solo trip. I absolutely love traveling solo. Rio is so amazing! I actually spent a week living at a hostel in a favela there, which is quite an experience. I'm also so happy to hear that you are enjoying my videos! I never do know if anyone other than me cares about them, LOL. That coffee tour was amazing, so I highly recommend that too! If you have additional questions about Medellin/Colombia, you can also feel free to DM me on Instagram @TravelEat.Drink
@@TravelEatDrink yess! Id love to go back to brazil one day and explore a new part my uber driver gave me a list to check out…. Wow a hostel in a favela!! That is so awesome. Yeah ur style of video making is well done, and this is coming from a vlogger watching addict 🤣🤣🤣. Thanks i followed you on IG. I want to ask whats ur favorite part of solo traveling?
@@Wintersnow889 Aww, thank you again so much for your kind words and your expert review 😅 It's good motivation for me to keep making content and to keep improving. I think I saw you on IG, is that you with the name that starts with a "B"? I'll follow you back if yes. My favorite thing about solo traveling is the freedom. Meaning the freedom to go where I want, when I want, and do what I want without having to consult with anyone else. I still do enjoy traveling with friends from time to time, but it's nice to have the option of going to places by myself so I don't have to wait for others to make up their minds.
Mom*
Hello, how much cost for a 5 hrs sleep? Mon and son
When I was there it was $10.49 USD per hour, per room, so it would be just over $50 USD. Depending on how old your son is, you may have to get two rooms, as the beds are just wide enough to fit one adult. It would be very difficult or almost impossible for two people to sleep in one bed. It might be cheaper for you to just get a hotel room near the airport.
Omg i absolutely love this place
Same
Do you recommend going?
Yes!
So it’s like a burrito for snobby people 😂
Haha, that's one way to describe it 😂
I F****** love those bro ❤ so delicous...
They definitely are delicious!
Beautiful city Medellín
Yes it is!
Dudes a freaking legend regardless what anyone thinks 💯
Thanks!
Thanks for this
You're welcome!
Great tour!..mostly Getsemani.Fyi.. Cartagena in pron. (carta henna) not haynya)😀
Haha, thanks. I know, sorry, my pronunciation is all over the place and always wrong. One of these days I'll get it right.
The tricky one is...Getsemani ... ( het se ma kneè) accent on the final knee. 😀
@@ChrisBCartagena thank you for the tip, I'll keep practicing!
I never knew it was a walled city! I love the old buildings too.
I had no idea either. I only knew about the ones in North America.
Buen video hermano 😅 Comiste muy rico 😋
Gracias!
Nice tour in San Diego area!
Thanks for the tip! Where's your favorite spot in San Diego?
Whoaaa this place looks interesting!! You better come with me to Mexico next month!
Interesting is definitely one way to describe it, LOL! MousseTaco, is that you? Send me the details when they're confirmed and I'll see what I can do, that would be so much fun! And if this is just someone looking to kidnap me, you are very good at your craft and I'm impressed. Bravo!
@ Hahha not a kidnapper!
@ But we should make up a code word just in case!
You are not a gringo, you're a chino.
Thanks, I've been called both, so I accept either 😂
Ayran is like the best investment ever
Agreed!
this guy looks terrified while telling us he’s safe 😂
Damn, bruh, that's just my natural expression😂 And, my reminder to always be cautious, because shit can go sideways really quickly in Colombia if you're not careful.
have you run into any sketchy situations? What to avoid?
There's definitely been some, but it's mostly when I went exploring outside of the neighborhoods of El Poblado and Laureles. The thing to remember is just to trust your instincts. If a street looks sketchy, don't go down it, if people look sketchy avoid them, and this is true even in the "safe areas". Most of the crime seems to be pickpocketing and snatching of valuables, so keep your stuff hidden and secure, or better yet leave your gold Rolex at home. Also, do your research about an area before you go to make sure it's safe for tourists. While the downtown is a big tourist area, there are some streets there where you could run into problems located right next to busy tourist markets. I don't want to freak you out though, so I want to say that generally you'll be fine, but wanted you to have this info so you can plan ahead for a safe and fun trip! It really is an amazing place to visit. If you want to see glimpses of a sketchy neighborhood in Medellin, you should check out this video of when I went to a local market - ua-cam.com/video/o0OMZEAORCE/v-deo.html
The airport terminal is all new now
Good to know, thanks for the update!
Have you gone to a McDo in France?
Yes! My French friends had considered ending our friendship when I suggested it as a meal option 😂 I love that you can get beer there too!
I was told by one of my Colombian freind that Asians especailly Chinese are easy target; hence, most of the chinese are victim of abduction, murder, theft & violent crimes. Do you agree with my freind's opinion?
No, I don't agree. But, I can see why people would think that. Anyone foreign is potentially a target in Colombia and anywhere else where they stand out. I've seen lots of reports of Europeans being victims too. The victims are generally those who don't take the proper precautions and research to keep themselves safe. My advice to many of my male friends has been, "If hot girls don't want to randomly take you home or go home with you in your own country, it's not likely they're gonna want to do that in another country unless they've got other motives." So, just be smart about things, and don't lose your judgement just because some pretty girls are talking to you. That's a great question, thank you so much for asking it. Hopefully this helps someone avoid being a victim.
@@TravelEatDrink As per your above comment, if you are not a sex tourist than you should be fine; so, most crimes involves girls?
@@Chuckle666 being a sex tourist definitely increases the chance that something might happen, but it can also be a guy just being at a bar or club and girls will start flirting with you. In my experience, Colombian girls seem more reserved, so they don't typically start conversations with strangers. So, be cautious when that happens. I'm just talking specifically about the crimes where some foreign guy has either been robbed or killed after he meets some girls that he thought liked him. There's lots of other crimes that don't involve girls. The thing to remember is just to be cautious, and when something seems too good to be true, it probably is.
Sad watching a scared blogger!
I'm sorry to hear you're sad, I hope you cheer up soon.
Dude your math is terrible. 1500 meters above sea level about 4500 feet, A mile is 5280 feet.
You havent been robbed yet.... Give it some time you will be!!! Colombia is a shit hole. Avoid!!!
Thank you for being honest. People on UA-cam are too positive. I’ve seen some wild shit in Colombia but every UA-camr act like it’s a paradise.
Tips to be safe in other countries especially in some isolated areas: Avoid American accent.
Haha, unfortunately an American sounding accent is all I've got, so I guess I'm out of luck 😅
I guess I can’t go then.
If you dont go looking for drugs or think that you suddenly and magically became handsome then you will be okay. No one cares that you are there. If you drug or s*x tourist then yeah you need to worry.

Very long ways apart.
Long walk through airport.
Holy cow, that's a big hot dog!
Right? I've never had to do so much calculus to figure out how to eat something without having it end up all over me 😂
Do they have plant-based milks?
Yes, generally the larger cafes that are used to seeing tourists will have plant-based options.
@@TravelEatDrink That's awesome!
can you pay cash to get a ticket?
Yes, just find the automated ticket machines at the stop before you board and you can purchase a ticket using cash.
I did this when I was like 14 it is fucking terrible DO NOT do it
I mean...both holes in your body are in real trouble here right? The least of my concerns would be wearing gloves! 😂
Facts! It hurts going in, it hurts going out 😅
I enjoyed your take on Portland! You're right about the drivers--a little too polite sometimes IMO (before moving to Portland, I commuted in Southern California). Anyway, thanks for sharing!
Thank you! And, I definitely feel silly for saying the drivers were too polite, but I'm glad you understand how unnerving it can be if you're not used to that, LOL!
