I have been eagerly awaiting your walkthrough! 💜I very nearly backed this on KS but I held off because I knew I could get it with less expensive shipping later when it'd available in Canada... and now I'm back on the idea of paying the steep int'l shipping so that I can get a few more treats from the publisher. 🤣 Collaborative decks don't tend to be my favourite in practice to actually read with, but as a project I love this and of course it's so Octavia Butler infused that it calls to me. I can't wait to read that guidebook. I feel like it might be more of a one card draw oracle-style for me. Thank you for sharing! 💜

such a cool lineup; i have gone back and forth with the delicious antique blacks tarot; i don't consider myself a rootworker though so i don't know if it will work with me although i love the artwork. do you feel one needs to be a rootworker to use this deck?

Don’t get rid of your cards, why would you want to.

This was my weirdest purchase experience deck, and absolute nail-biting adventure! I also ordered it on his website last June thanks to Janaki's video. Silence. I wrote, no reply, I wrote, no reply. I requested a refund through paypal and commented on his web page that this was obviously a scam. Suddenly he answered that he was having problems with US mail international (I live in Europe) and attached a photo of an envelope with my address written on it by hand and said he had already sent me a refund as well. I withdrew my claim. Silence. No refund, no deck. The refund deadline was over. I felt like I got scammed. Meanwhile I moved and rented out my apartment. Mid-June my tenants sent me pictures of a customs slip in the mail box. I paid the customs online ASAP online. ... and then realised the slip had arrived in early May and they had not checked the mail box for six weeks! (We live in a very digital country) The package should already have been sent back. I phoned our national mail company and it turned out the package had been held in storage of the customs for an extra two weeks after the mandatory month and the mail carrier would try to block it from being returned. This was the Midsummer period which is a big holiday for us, so I had to quietly panic through all of it. I'm so thankful for my country's mail carrier, customs board and our digital services. This could have gone very wrong. But just imagine: he sent it to me nearly a year after I ordered it (and the package looked nothing like the photo he had sent me earlier) and no shipping notice. And I also kind of expected to receive the holographic edition based on his web page... It's now available on MPC, but it seems the holographic edition on sale is of this original version, not the 2nd one, at least based on the few example pictures. Beautiful deck anyway. Great artist but not the best customer service provider

Enjoyed hanging out and watching you sort through your decks. Saw a few new to me. Ones which was fun. I’m a big fan of Dust II Onyx too yet don’t use it as much as I’d like either. And I hear you about all the election stress and disappointment…Our decks are very comforting and insightful. 🙏🏼💜✨🪶

I feel similarly about the Sacred Sisterhood. It’s not my style at all but it is such a clear and intuitive reader! Those cards almost come alive for me, and they’re great for path working.

Thank you for sharing!! The quick associations I was able to make with the pictures really resonated. The colour, background and portal picture really looks like looking into something. The only thing that jared a little was the psalms. The writing instead of a photograph, or the beautiful and emotional (for me) picture of blue tinged cotton flower, behind it. As the bible wasn't a source of comfort for me, or my mother, coming up. The psalms would read like any afirmation, as in a logical "oh that makes sense" way??? Dunno. However this deck is 1st deck that stired something visceral, from just the viewing. I hope you get plenty of joy and insight with this deck. Time for me to get the Hoodoo tarot out and email the apothecary! 🎉😂

You did a fantastic job and I loved your choices. The interesting thing is I used just about all of the cards you did but in different places. You had excellent reasons and made a great case for each of your choices (are you an attorney?). I'm going to re-watch this a couple of times - my deck is also untitled (*still* - since the Fall of 2022 as I keep making changes) and I might have to reconsider some of my choices as you've given me some new ways to look at some of these cards. I do love the idea of assigning the tarot archetypes to the soul cards. I thought about doing this myself. But regarding titles, I personally would not do that in order to maintain the integrity of the original intention of the decks. As you were talking, I did start to feel that tarot archetype energy for the majors, and it felt like it added an extra layer for me intuitively to work with these cards. I especially liked the card you chose for the hierophant. And how it brought in a more spiritual guidance energy rather than a religious energy. I look forward to seeing what you do with the minors.
