not a sailors video, great music
Whats your rotation and liftoff speeds in the V35 Bonanza? Nice Video!
At 1:56 Beautiful ! It went by quickly, but looked like a T-38 Talon. Always loved that airplane ! 🇺🇸
Your takeoff fuel flow looks low and your tach is going to need to be replaced soon...
For the tach I assume you mean the wiggle and jiggle. We monitor that closely and our A&P keeps an eye on it. For the fuel, I’m not certain how you can assert that - the gauges are just above the pilot’s knees and are never in frame in the video. 🤷🏼♂️
If memory serves we departed for that flight with over 4:00 of fuel aboard. The flight was just over 1:00. I’m fairly comfortable with a 3 hour reserve. 👍🏻
@@sailssawssky237 Flow, not quantity. Based on the combo MP/FF gauge next to tach. But hard to see, as you point out. 520 should have ~27.5GPH. 550~29. Also, GAMI test cell data proves the 25/25 after takeoff is more hard on the engine than WOT/2700 if noise is not a concern. Not trying to deride your technique but rather make helpful suggestion. Happy flying! Fellow Bo flyer & GNS 480 user.
You’ve got better eyes than I do. We actually did briefly use 25 squared for climb outs but after reading all of the Pelican’s Perch articles on AvWeb we know depart at WOT/2700 as you mention and usually climb about 1,000’ AGL at WOT/~2500
Cool. Please keep me in mind as you put together your crew. I’m in NJ. I can make myself available for practice or boat prep. If you like I can send you my sailing resume if you give me an email

great video! any chance you're looking for crew for 2020? I crewed Newport-Bermuda in 2016. I own and race a Sabre 34. I have 25 years of sailing experience. I am a cardiologist and can bring an AED if desired. I'm dying to do the race again.
We’ve actually upgraded to a J/145 for our offshore events now. 2020 N2B is on the horizon, but we haven’t committed for certain. More to come.
i was there that day! great show, seen lots of aircraft. buying a cgs hawk arrow2 to go with my aerolite 103 and paradise p1 slsa. organized chaos. great time. lousy food, hamburgers bloody and hotdogs were raw. and somebody should be horsewhipped over their map. wasn't close to being accurate and mislabeled. went to info desk and they had no idea where things were. i guess thats part of the adventure. can't wait until next year. until then there is the deland expo.
Fun video. Love Jekyll Island. Thanks
One is my favorite stops.
Great video of SNF... usually don't like music in aviation videos, but at least music changes with subjects/area of fly in, and it stops for some ac sounds.. good job.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
why are air show announcers always over the top?
Ha, it does sound that way sometimes, doesn’t it.
Yeah I know the announcer, his name is Jimmy Snortscoke. If you think he's a little over the top, wait till next year when a guy named Jose Zoncrack gets hold of the microphone, some say he drinks hi octane avgas!
Just seems like he enjoys his job.
going this year, but i do have to fly sprit
just ordered a truck load of new 3Di's, love your logo on the kite!
Thank you! They’re quite incredible. We just got them in and had the sailmakers aboard all weekend giving them a good stretch.
Nice video! I have to agree, in 2016, 2017 and 2018 the "thrash" failed to live up to it's name. Back in 2015 we had some fun though: ua-cam.com/video/MUQzYzJYDNk/v-deo.html The return deliveries haven't been as windy as 2015 but at least we had enough wind to warrant putting a reef in...
Oh yeah! 2012 was a doozy too! Our first.
Very cool beans! Did you win? Snow says doesn’t matter it looked like great fun.
We got 9/16 in our Class and 20/83 in the division. We are very happy with our performance given how large and prestigious this event is.
Sails, Saws, & Sky congratulations
And we cheated death again. Have you considered offering your flight videos to some of the on line aviation publications. They might even pay you a few bucks. The fun stuff really looked fun, Snow and I are stopping at Asheville on the way back South.
It’s amazing what one can do with an instrument rating, a solid air frame, and a willingness to wait on the ground at the FBO for the proper window.
You talk like a flight instructor. Nice Island I should take Snow.
I don’t know about that, but I do my best. I asked told Amanda the four of us should go. It’s gorgeous.
What a great day!!
It really was a blast. We’ll be going back for sure.
Nice touch showing yourself cleaning up. Photographic evidence?
Heh, something like that. I'm willing to put in the work and keep her nice as long as everyone else does!
Nice flight and very nice boat
Dave Willis thank you. It was a great trip.
