It’s interesting that the pitch accent distinguishes the two meanings of kurabu whereas in English they’re both club (and the context makes it clear that schoolchildren aren’t going clubbing)
@@enderwiggins8248 Originally, they had the same accent, but it is said that the accent changed as part of youth slang.

This is a pretty cool video. I just have a suggestion: lower the volume of the music a bit. For me, it's quite good, but for some people, it can be annoying.

I think that when you break down the sentences, it would be better to not use romaji. Use Japanese and furigana. A person who hasn't even learned kana yet would not be interested in such complex writing anyways. Also when you read the whole text at the end, it's a little hard to connect the meaning with the sentences visually since they were broken down in romaji rather than in Japanese. Great choice of music, I like it! Also the presentation and delivery of information is pretty organized. Good video
@@Pithy-aster thank you for your valuable comments 😺 I put romaji for some of my friends who are learners of Japanese and prefer to make sure the reading in romaji.
Very informative, thank you!!

Hey that's good to know the words for republic, kingdom and that Southern Africa has a different word to plain South Africa. 😊
My favorite series!!!!
Thank you 😻
this is out of topic but the 893 reminds me of 一五六四/1564 from the detective conan series, pretty cool
4649 よろしく, 5963 ごくろうさん and more! We also memorize square roots using puns, like square root of 2 →1.41421356... (一夜一夜に人見ごろ[ひとよひとよにひとみごろ]) Very convenient :)
@@TobyJPN you should make a video dedicated to this! i dont think i have seen it talked about on youtube, at least that i know of
@@zetsubouuu Noted 😸
Interesting ways to disguise the words. The number ones are cool but seems like it will keep things extra hidden. :)
@@GuavaJuice7 It may be harder for learners of Japanese (esp. non-Kanji users) to understand the context 😓
Do katakana versions of non-Japanese words also always avoid starting with wo (ヲ)? I never paid attention to that but is it only used as a marker for the grammatical object? I guess, for example, Wonder Woman would be Wanda- U-man?
There are no words that begin with ヲ or have ヲ in them. Aohata(アヲハタ), a company famous for its jams and canned foods, has the letter ヲ in its name, but it is not a common word. Hiragana を is used as a particle[marker] for the grammatical object. To be frank, you don't need to remember Katakana ヲ Yes, Wonder Woman is ワンダーウーマン(wanda- u-man)
The hardest ones for me are the restaurant signs! Cool info about the fonts.
@@GuavaJuice7 especially the handwritten calligraphy 😭 and vertical ones
I speak malayalam , an Indian language. This rule is very similar in our language. We denote that sound by the letter 'o'. Even many other Indian languages have this characteristic. It was easy for me use this sound in Japanese as I didnot have to think about. It automatically comes to me. There are many similarities in Japanese and South Indian languages. You can search the internet.
That is fascinating! Malayalam マラヤーラム語 Nnanni (Thank you)

僕なら 楷書体が好きです。英語ではなんか・・・ Calligraphyとか Cursiveたどで呼んでますね? そういうのが好きです。 デジタル機器なら 明朝体が個人的に好ましいです。けれど、ほとんどのデジタル機器の活字書体が標準はゴシック体なので、少し明朝体に変えるのは困ります。
When it comes to fonts, I'm picky!
