    Thanks for posting this video. I made a chicken following along! I will maybe watch it again--wondering how long it took you to make it. I think if I make another one, I'll use wools that are a bit easier to deal with. I had core wool, but the outer layers are merino/alpaca.. fluffy chicken.

      This wet felting process is my favorite for the small projects! The bamboo mat does half of the work. The learning curve is making sure your roll is tight enough and getting the thickness of wool right

    • @sheepishlymade

      Hi Deb! Thanks for watching. I've used frames or embroidery hoops. You might have to make a mat to custom fit your project or cut your project down to size. Since these pieces are generally too thick to fit behind glass, I remove the glass and use a mat to hold it in. It's hard to frame behind glass without a custom frame. Sometimes you can find shallow shadow boxes that will work too ☺️

    I really like the combination of colors you chose for #1. Purple and gray look so good together. I would draft out your fiber more before you let the drum take it. That will cut down on the buildup on the licker. Thanks for sharing. Be blessed.

    Hi, how do you choose the felting needle for the individual task?? What property on the needle is most vital to take care about?

  • @YorkshireLassWithClass
    @YorkshireLassWithClass 2 роки тому

    Omgosh my OCD is kicking in with that mat and core wool because they are so dirty, can you please clean the felting mat and change supplier’s of core wool? Surly the dark fibres on the mat will be picked up on any light colour project’s? If I purchased one of these pigs and found dark fibres I would be most upset. Sorry I don’t mean to be picky and definitely no hate, I love what you create, it just triggers me.

    • @sheepishlymade
      @sheepishlymade 2 роки тому

      Hi there! Thanks for watching. Core wool is different for everyone. I actually use wool from my own sheep for core wool! The wool I use is usually higher in vegetable matter and not good enough for spinning wool, however it felts great! It's important to me to use all the wool i can and not waste it. It does not bother me since core wool is in the inside of projects and you cannot see it. As for felting projects, if the wool on my mat is entangling in projects, you are felting incorrectly. The needles should not be going into the mat unless you are making a wool painting. I could go on about felting for hours and techniques... Hopefully you'll have more of an open mind about felting after reading this.
