Verbier Skiing - High Alpine Heaven
Following Skeleton World Championships in Germany, I visited my old friend Chris and his partner Marie-Noelle for some skiing in Verbier. We had a huge storm roll through with whiteout conditions the first day, but it cleared up nicely after for some deep pow with bluebird skies. After enjoying a few runs sans-camera, I whipped out the GoPro and filmed this footage. Chris rocked his Faction Candide Thovex sticks, while I rented some Atomic Bent Chetler 120s for the pow. We all had full avi gear as well.

The pro film crew was in town to catch a training run. Ice temp was -18C, and I had my warm ice (-4C to 0C) runners on my sled, which made for one of the wildest rides of the year. Competing at this level isn't possible without the generous support of sponsors, so a huge thanks goes out to Next Medical Products - www.nextmedicalproducts.com - for sponsoring me this season. On his last day, I brought along my GoPro to film our push session at UOP and riding at Canyons. Fun fact: Before John was a World Cup skeletor, he was a World Cup downhill mountain biker. Great video, it would be even better though, to have at least some narration- like the names of the teams and the score as it moves along.

HAHA! Still remember this... A few factors to consider for those watching....Weather was actually not as warm as it looked...which played into my times I'm sure as I was still recovering from a broken leg LOL... I also want to note that I did indeed run 10.04 into a negative 0.1 headwind in the 100m in 2010, however the IAAF (now under World Athletics) didn't approve the time for some strange reason..... We have the video to prove that as well. They then corrected it to 10.10 then another time.... anyways... who cares right? lol... I want to note that I came there in flats. NO SPIKES. I had to borrow Nathan's JUMP SPIKES to run in which were a size and a half bigger than my running spikes.... All that taken into consideration, and the fact I hadn't ran a 40 in YEARS, and this with NO SPEED WORK (we don't start speedwork in November in my coaches program LOL).... This was fun, fast, and creative to experience what a Bobsled/Skeleton combine feels like. PS--- Let's set it up again! I'm Ready BRO!!!! #FaithFocusFinish

John Ross 4.22 at the NFL combine is an actual 4.55s when using high speed camera to catch the actual time of first movement. Bolt's electronic 100m WR 40yd split time without reacttion time was around 4.18s, but using the same NFL protocols Ross had, would have been recorded as 3.85s...

0.2 seconds should be added to these timings, as in a real race, reaction time is counted. Unless you set the timer (and the sprinter) start with the sound of a gunshot to include reaction time which will usually be between 0.1 and 0.25 (less than 0.1 is considered false start).
