Back in the mid 1930s, Brown Memorials was known as Florence Memorial Company, and located on McQueen Street in downtown Florence, SC. 2nd generation, Claude Brown, vowed to leave every cemetery in better condition than it was found, and the historic cemeteries of this area are a lasting testament to his promise. Today, the 5th generation is abiding by this same promise.

Brown Memorials' 5th generation memorial designer, Bran Oswalt, designed this piano for Luke Jerram's international art project, Play Me, I'm Yours. Ed traveled all the way from the Netherlands to Florence, SC just to participate and play the pianos. We are glad to have had the opportunity to see him play. He is an incredible musician. Enjoy!

Why did you not highlight the Hunley submarine soldier buried site there....brave men of history
As we stroll passed these graves, it’s so intriguing to know they all had their families, friends and loved ones mourning some devastating losses. Their loved ones once visited them at their gravesite, but now there is no trace of any of them. We too will be forgotten and everything we knew so dearly completely gone. But as for those who trust in Christ Jesus, they are now reunited.
My favorite cemetery during the spring, It’s a wonderful garden too walk around.

Just visited this place it's amazing to see in person. The stones are massive in some parts and over look the water. The confederate section has men who died at Gettysburg as well.
