They are all so close together in nipponbashi that you’ll definitely be able to go to more than a few, even if you’re stuck on time ☺️ each store is good for different things. Magi had a lot of slabs, but I liked hobby station for cheap art rares, hope that helps!

Hi! I wasn’t really looking for sealed product so can’t really talk to that, but nipponbashi is a great place to go card shopping given so many shops are so close together, which allows you to check out more places 😊 Tokyo is great as well but a little more spread out

Hi! The name on google maps is in Japanese, but in my description I have it listed as the best card store in Tokyo and it has the google link there which should give you the location 😊 hope that helps!

Of Osaka and Kyoto, I think Card Wiz was the only one I found pretty good deals and a large volume of slabs. The other one that comes to mind was Magi in Osaka. They didn’t have as many slabs, but had some decent deals on the ones there. Where I saw the best deals were at a few stores in Ikebukuro in Tokyo, so if you do head to there as well I’d suggest going into some of the smaller, less well known stores, and you might get lucky! There was one in particular that had a binder with photos of all the slabs they had, and they were really well priced. Hope you have some luck!! 😊

Some of them I have sold, but most are still with me. I’ll definitely keep at least one of each, but in some instances multiple (eg might go towards completing a set, my personal collection, or I might keep a copy or two to potentially grade at some point). I will probably sell most of them at some point but am still working out exactly what I want to do 😊 they were just so cheap and I love the ARs especially so I couldn’t resist!

Oh I see, in australia you can also play tcg live that we dont have here in japan, in my area Mizonoguchi we have a lot of weekly tournaments anyway...just that the rotation will be on 24th of this month and I cannot use anymore my favorite deck the kabicon ;((((

Oh damn! When I was there they had heapssss of stock and the biggest selection of vintage (especially high end vintage) I’d seen in all of Japan. Sad to hear that’s not the same now!

@@PocketQuests They had some nice ones left in all fairness, but the prices were higher than ebay. I got some decent pickups tax-free at another store you recommended though, so thank you!

Anyway if you visit any card shop in holiday or high season, expect the price hike. Thats how the business works.

Not too bad!! They have some general phrases that they understand, like “showcase” means you want something out of the cabinet, and “buy” or “cancel” after you check it. That’s really all you need to get by 😊

Really just depends! I love Japanese cards mostly because they’re way more affordable, so it allows me to collect more of what I want. In a perfect world I’d collect in English but with the current market I can get way more of what I want with Japanese!

Thank you! Prices are generally fixed - if you were making very significant purchases they may give you a discount but usually fixed. The only store I found with some English cards was Card Secret in Ikebukuro (Tokyo). Hope that helps 😊
