I'm an outdoor enthusiast especially into mountain biking. I also enjoy hiking, landscape photography and aerial photography. I actively post mountain biking videos and drone footages in this channel.
I prefer to use these GoPro hero 11 settings for mountain biking POV videos:
5.3K (16:9) 30 fps Superview
HyperSmooth 5.0: Boost
EV comp: -0.5 (sunny) 0 (cloudy)
ISO Max: 800 or 400
Color: flat
White Balance: 5000 K
Bitrate: High
Mount: GoPro Chesty
The drone footages are filmed with DJI Mavic Mini (before Dec. 2020) and DJI Air 2 (since Dec. 2020).
Video editing software: iMovie (before Sep. 2021); Final Cut Pro X (since Sep. 2021)

Mountain Biking Forest City Trail | St. James/Rolla, Missouri
Forest City MTB Trail sits on the edge of St. James, Missouri, near Rolla. The trail features a mix of riding experiences, from rocky sections and fast stretches through pine forests to man-made features like jumps, berms, and a teeter-totter. In this video, I rode the trail counterclockwise, including all the more technical side loops.

1/1/24 SP Crater is a tough hike up loose cinders, even starting from halfway up on the west saddle. View from the lava-capped summit is spectacular. Suggest not descending into the steep, sun-warmed crater; reminds me of an ant-lion pit: easy in but difficult out due to sliding in loose cinders. Take water.
Do you think Lindsey Park is better than this Park?
I think both of them are fun but Lindsey has more mileage.
Amazing...
I am a frequent viewer of your UA-cam channel and wanted to express my sincere appreciation. I consistently learn valuable new information from your videos. I wish you continued success in your endeavors.
What trails do you recommend ? I ride intermediate to advanced trails Thanks will be out there on Wednesday coming from Dallas
I love Sotol Forest and Lower Foothills. The Monk's Trail near town is also great.
Nice music choices.
Thanks!
What kind of bike did you have? I'm wondering if I can do that trail without suspension
I ride a Trek Fuel EX 7. I think you will be perfectly fine with a rigid from the Zilker Park to the 360 access. I saw quite some gravel bikes on this section of the trail before. From 360/Mopac access the trail becomes much rockier and some sections are really technical.
hey i like you videos, if you haven't you should try fingerlakes in ccolumbia mo
Yes I love that trail. I actually did a video this spring:ua-cam.com/video/AJEbsJNyk8g/v-deo.html
AMERICA HAS NO ACTIVE VOLCANO WE STUDY HISTORICAL GOEOGRAPHICAL TECTONIC WE FIND OUT THAT UPPER PART HAS NO VOLCANOES... THRY DRILL THAT
These are the trails I started on back in 2018. I've since moved to Montana but I still come here. Cypresswood is a good system too if you are ever in the area.
Agree. These trails are great for starting mountain biking but not much elevation change though (like in Montana).
I’m Late to the party but the section with the rock steps you have to build momentum to get over the first boulder and the bike will just rocket up. If you lose any momentum or the front end comes up you probably won’t make it.
Agree. Keep momentum is important when dealing with rock gardens.
Geologists think that this volcanic field may be due to a little understood phenomena called "crustal drip"
Interesting. What mechanism causes the drip?
@@GeoExplorerStudio Crustal weakening, either by compression or extension and density variation (cold dense lithosphere; hot, less dense mantle. some of the lithosphere sinks in a "finger shaped" mass and begins to melt...My own theory is that this is a Rayleigh-Taylor instability, and can be explained by applying hydrodynamic principles. An analogy would be the interface between dense, cold salty water mass, and a less dense water mass. The formation of "fingers" of denser water occurs...
@@BjarneLinetsky Good to know. I thought it was associated with the subduction of the Farallon plate or a hot spot. Does seismic tomography show some of the dripping or delaminated lithosphere? Maybe it's also worth to check the geochemical signals.
zk@@GeoExplorerStudio Betcha a saw-buck there is a post-grad working on it...
Nice ride! Will go there this weekend.
The polygonal megalithic blocks in the natural wall were to reinforce it at some point?
I live in cruces and only until recently i found out about this.
Loved riding there
Nice trail
I wanna try it out - anybody got a route on Strava or Garmin on it ?
Here's a route I rode:www.strava.com/activities/9152260303
nice trail
Yellow
Tip. It would be nice if you spoke about the trail While you're editing You have some trails that most UA-camrs don't have so it would be great to now what you think about it.
Thanks for the idea!
nice
Is this a hard tal or full spension bike? Can you ride this on a hard tal?
You can definitely ride a hard tail here. Nothing technical but a few steep climbs.
What about the ozark trail flat wood? Thanks for the info
@@Ozarkmountainoutback1 Hardtail will be fine there, too.
Thanks for the info 😊
looks like fun
Excellent, Brushy is really cool.
looks like fun
Drone did not come close to the Ship Rock. Nothing to learn from this video. I guess native people gets offended when a volcanic spur millions of years old gets photographed by drones.
nice
Adding to my playlist for Northern Arizona tours.
I grew up with these trails and this video is really putting into perspective how flat and boring they are haha.
that trail is going to keep you on your toes some of those trees are rather close to each other.
what is the temp there now? its over a hundred here in houston and high humidity.
not too bad, 80-90s
how are you liking missouri ? get your riding in now when winter hits wont be much of that where you are lol
Used to do this every weekend since I lived right behind there. Fun. We even did night’s rides.
maybe this video is just based of of old evidence, but SP crater now has shown to be be likely 5-10 thousand years old
Nice trail
Nice
nice trail austin has some good ones
Hey are you still in Houston ? Would you like to go ride sometime?
Moved to Missouri.
Ok I’m sure some good trails there
One of go tos for an afternoon ride. Did ever try zombie when you were passing through?
Zombie is on my list. I'm still new to the area and there's a lot to explore!
man that looked like alot of fun. gravel bike could handle that
A gravel bike is perfect for many of the trails there, but you do wish you had suspension for the bigger jumps.
nice
I'm moving to Austin soon and your channel and these videos have been super useful! Can't wait to try out all these Austin trails! Thank you!
Have fun!
Great video! My home trails. I can tell this was early covid times because of all the walkers, not as busy now.
Yes it was!
you can't tell me that ain't an ancient wall and castle.
made by nature though
Do you mind me asking what section and row are you sitting in?
Sorry can't remember
I tried Walnut Creek Park with my bike this past Sunday. Total disappointment with walkers and off-leach dogs (allowed) all over the mountain bike trails. Very poor signage as well.
True, but it's still a local's favorite spot, once you figure out the trail system
Around 1:39 what ya wanna do is turn right and go up - then head back around towards this spot after crossing this field with a mound in the middle. You catch a fun little drop and it flows real well. Also, I think you took this jump line section of trail backwards but it's hard for me to tell where you got off there... I was lucky enough to meet some locals who gave me a good tour including the best turns to make :) Super fun trail!
Good to know. Sometimes I felt like I was heading in the right direction, but other times it seemed like I was ridding against the features.
Nice hidden gem of a trail, Gets overlooked by the miles at Binder Lake. Rocky technical challenge for me. Nice video showing it !
Looks like a great place to ride, thanks for sharing. Onyx Vesper hubs? Your wheels are very quiet when descending.
