Bertram 31 Diesel Cold Start - 18 degrees and a stiff brisk wind out of the Northwest. The Starboard engine starts first, then the Port gets going after a couple of minutes. These Volvo’s love to smoke until they get warmed up! Enjoy....

In my experience, the wider the cut the worse the cut on all mowers. The 2200 is the 1st in the true commercial line and has a much better seat as well.
I hope you adjusted the suspension so you could get the full benefits. I have a bad back and run my shocks on the softest setting! You can also relocate the top of the rear shocks to a more straight up vertical position and to me this also improved my ride. I’m 5’10” 240lbs and if you put the shocks to the firmest setting the ride is terrible like a scag. For my back fusion surgery the softest setting and vertical position is best for me. Thanks for an honest review!
I have a ISX 3300 and hell yes they are worth it I can mow my 7 acres in no time with mine and yes mine is flat but I have mowed others yards with a lot of bumps and did not feel them at all cuts justs as good

Nice review and thank you for the feedback on the seat. I’ve been wondering about that seat. I agree for the money it should come with a better seat. Between the that Ferris and the toro, which was more comfortable? I’m cutting about 5 acres and looking for more comfort.
I bought a 800 and love it if you buy one you never buy a nothe mower
In the past 15 years I've owned JD, Dixie Chopper, Toro, and a Kabota Z turn, and hated everyone of them for one reason or another. My ISX 700 is the fastest, easiest to steer, best riding mower I've ever ridden by far.
Block heaters would be a nice addition
the seat comes with suspension now.
Hey Capt., What about an engine blanket? Is there an option to also warm the diesel in prepping to go out? 110% on restoring the Classic Bertram 31. The gelcoat on the transom looks to be in really nice shape. When was she restored? Pretty cold up there in the NE. Going out for some blackfish? Tight Lines Cap.
That seat is adjustable... Just keep turning it until it's right

Mine is 2 years old with 56 hrs. I only mow my own property so I'm not in a race. Adjusted the seat for my 5'8", 170 lbs. Nice smooth ride. My 8# cat Punkin sleeps on it out in the garage with no complaints whatsoever! I traded in my 2 year old X Mark with no regrets. This mower does a great job and I would buy it again! Steve G.
I bought a 3300 and the dang thing scalped the ground over a small hump in the yard. Never did that with my old cub cadet tank.
What are the differences in size width an length of mowers most hight spot will be scalped with a bigger mower vs small one
This is why people want them banned. Dirty engines. Get rid of them and put some Yamaha's on the back.

The 31's a deep V fish boat. You want the weight of the diesels and you don't wand outboards creating a blockage when trying to fish.

Just not sure about the EFI. Seems like they have more problems than the carb versions and more crap to go wrong.
I've owned a EFI for 5 years and the only thing I've had to do to the engine was remove and clean the carbs, one time.
Question on your review? Did you continue to turn the seat knob for your weight?? And where are you buying that an 800 is 10-12000?
Buying one Monday for 10,900. EFI is 11,500

I think this mower would walk on a toro any day.
I have an isx800z and I like it. My old Grasshopper finally bit the dust. I know I liked the Grasshopper deck better because it was out front and I could get under hedges and bushes but the Ferris is ok on just mowing.

I think the dealer had one that was sitting around for a while for about 9500. Normally I think they ask about 10,500. I ended up getting the 3300

Very nice boat. I would not be able to drill holes in the hull for those lights though. Took me many years to finally drill 2 small holes for a transducer in a 14' aluminum boat.
I'm sure he used silicone it's ok 😂
