two things happened when i heard this music.. F++k i love that tune, ...and thank F++k its loading...
I remember that music. It can be played in some C64 games such as Rastan, Renegade and Basketball Master. I used to listen to it when I was a kid. It's a great music. I think it is my favourite Ocean Loader music of all time. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
Here in 2024
what everyone fails to mention is that this tune is fantastic in it's first two versions, but this one in on another level and it wouldn't of happened without them, apart from the wet crisp packet pop at the end.
Platypus level 3 :)
my favourite Ocean Loader Music.
brilliant music and this was the first Ocean tune I heard when I was loading in Freddy Hardest way back in the 80's. the guy looks a bit like Patrick Swayze.
Oh the memories of loading Robocop and hearing this tune come out the speakers of my TV while it was loading....
I think I've.just been programmed 😎
Time to add this to my compilation for running
nice one, all the other versions I've found are sped up for some reason and sound shite
I hate to think how many hours I spent listening to Ocean loader music as a kid waiting for games to load...and how often the bloody games wouldn't load, had to rewind the tape and start over.
Always loved the xenomorph in the picture. (Being an avid fan of the Alien franchise. Although it deteriorated over the years.)
By far the best loader song of all time!
Nostalgia overload
Such a good tune. Could easily have been used as a theme to a TV drama.
The best Ocean Loader
Anyone else here in 2020? Loving it !
Was Big Bertha in Renegade or Target Renegade?
Renegade.
Fact for you...Ocean wanted a different loading tune for every single game release...couldn’t be done so they revised the ocean loader several times!
Who cares if the game is crap or not... listen to that music!
Best loader tune ever.
V.O.K 🇹🇷 THİS İS SPARTA
I remember how futuristic this felt.
This is my favourite C64 tune.
Hardcore!
I still love this track. Thank you! But if you love this then go to soundcloud.com/wickedmaster/ocean-loader-4-mika-halonen
Nice upload. Although for me this tune (and 4) wasn't as nice as the earlier ocean loaders, especially the Martin Galway tunes. Slightly ear grating. Never liked Jon Dunn's drums much either - sounded like someone blowing snot out their nose.
"sounded like someone blowing snot out their nose" made me laugh a lot! :)
A Neil i even though I didn’t think it at the time, I prefer 3 a lot more than the others now.
@@ectopudding 3 is definitely the best one.
sounds like every bloody c64 snare drum.......... c64 sucked..
Loved the Remaster in Platypus, which is a part of my childhood. Wish i knew more about the C64 and its glorious background..
GreaT ! 😉👍🏼
Love the synth note at 0:46 that starts the epicness.
That is exactly when you know you're in for a audio treat.
music like platypus lv 3
Yeah they borrowed a lot of themes from C64 for Platypus. In fact, I think all of them are remixed C64 themes actually.
does anyone else remember than feeling : does it gonna load without errors after this ?? :)
boldy there ...where no 8bit snd device has gone before....
Cool. But the loader in Rambo by Ocean was by far the coolest imo!
Check out Hornanvasara from Finland. Link on UA-cam is ocean loader 2 for headbangers. A metal version of this 😱😍
The best Ocean Loader
Absolutely agree 👍👍👍
Love the analog data stream in the background :D those high pitch bleeeeps
I loaded Gryzor just for this! never finished the game..
Ruined by the mouse pointer :(
i never saw that until read your comment
Kinda makes your chest swell with pride.... *_SID FOREVER_*
+Olivia Pentaghast I think you should see an doctor.
C64 capable of very good music!
BEST !! sorry for caps.
♥
I presume all the (other) videos are based on disk version? This loader was only in the tape version AFAIK :)
I can't recall a disk version of a game I had that had a loader screen with music.
Ocean used a custom disk loader that loaded the game at high speed (generally less than a minute, including the loading title screen). The music could not play as it would screw with the IRQ of the loader (and would be pointless anyway as you would hardly hear any of the music). Not hearing the music in favour of high speed loading was a far worthy tradeoff that I was thankful for when I got a disk drive...
I don't get it... I remember this tune, when loading my Yie Ar Kung Fu back in the 90's. But all the videos I can find of it now, do not have this loading tune. What gives?
I have the answer for you. If you had the Konami Arcade Collection compilation released by Ocean, a number of the games were remastered with a different loader. Yie Ar Kung Fu was one of them and had the Ocean Loader 3 music on. Not checked The Magnificent Seven compilation, but potentially could also be the same there too.
Instant Goosebumbs!
get a decent pc and get on steam. loads of great games for under £3. Just like then NES games were £30- £60 C64 £3-£10. Ocean games in fairness were normally more like £8.00 anyway.
I had a Commodore 64 years ago & I had some multiload games & on some of the games each level took ages to load.
Yeah, it was the loader for IK+ and 100s of others of the "£2.99 section" games. Sounds ridiculous now, a game for £2.99 that wasn't second hand or some rubbish no one in their right mind would buy, considering most games will rarely go below £20 withouth being like a football game from last season or something.
