Thats crazy ive never seen an apple peeler before! 🔥
They are amazing and worth it!
How did I not know I could get an apple peeler for my KitchenAid? As far as waste, I would put the cores in a different bowl and toss them out for the chickens or compost. The peels would go into my freeze dryer for snacking or apple powder. (You freeze dry whatever it is and throw it in the blender and make a powder out of it. I use it for cooking, ice cream toppings, the cheese is great on popcorn... There are a dozen different ways you can use the powders.) I have issues with my hands and after peeling and coring about six apples I'm done but this little attachment would make life so much easier! I could make apple butter and apple sauce again. I just watched it again and realized it slices as it peels- as it should- food dehydrator here I come!❤😊😊
I 100% agree! This peeler, corer, and slicer, is worth its weight in gold! I gave the scraps to our cattle and they absolutely loved it! If I only had a bushel or two to do, I might consider doing it by hand, but I had 7 bushel between sauce and the freezer🥴 I haven’t gotten into freeze drying, but definitely something on the horizon for me to try! I hear a lot of people love it! Thank you for all the info, and for watching!
@@valleyviewfarm1905 If you have a dehydrator you can do that with the peels too, they make great snacks dehydrated or freeze-dried. Hell, you can dehydrate them in the oven now that it's starting to cool down, lol.
Yeah I definitely want to get into freeze drying and dehydrating!
If she's paying for the apples, that's an awful lot of waste. I could process these by hand with a knife, peeler, and potato masher, and with the cleanup it would be be less time.
I appreciate the insight!
There should be an adjustment for making the peels thinner. Then cook the peeis and cored, drip drain the liquid for jelly or pancake syrup and put the rest through a food mill and make apple butter. The very dry pulp left can then go to critters. Not one drop of waste. My mom and I used a hand driven peeler, and a Foley food mill. Easily did a bushel in a day. Results: applesauce, juice for jelly, and apple butter. Yummy 😊
What did you spoon in the jars??
I put 1 teaspoon of salt in each quart jar, just to help preserve flavor, color, and texture! Thanks for watching🥰
Those look gorgeous.
Thank you! We have had 4 or 5 jars and they taste amazing!
That looks amazing! You did a great job!
Thank you so much! And thanks for watching!
Beautiful peaches. Blessings 😊
Thank you! 😊
no fun watching when its just a thin slice in the middle of my screen. please film full screen.
I am sorry! I am terrible with technology and am new to learning how UA-cam works. Thank you so much for the feedback!
I really like your apron!
Thank you!! I got it from Amazon!
This is how I can peaches and like you, I do a heavy syrup. They are a treat for us and we make them last for a year until next peach harvest. They are so so good. Like you, I do 7 qts. at a time. I cut all my peaches in half then stick them in a bowl of cold water w/about 1 Tablespoon of Ball Fruit Fresh (found in the canning section) in the water. When I think I have enough to fill the 7 jars, I then take them out of the water and put them in the jars. That keeps the peaches from browning and they stay nice and yellow. Works great for apples when making pies etc. also. Great video
Wow thanks for sharing! I will have to try the cold water with Ball Fresh Fruit! Thanks for the tip!
I love watching these videos. Thank you for sharing with us.
I’m glad you like them! Thanks for watching!
Yummy did 2 batches
100mg zinc per quart? For how long did you process the green beans? Thank you. Good video.
Yes! And I pressure can my green beans in quarts for 25 mins at 10 lbs. pressure! Thanks for watching!
Hello how are you? Good evening. It's a nice video)) I watch it with great pleasure
I live in Shreveport La-on Valley View-lol
what state are you in?
I am located in Waynesburg PA! Nice to e-meet you!
Why the zinc?
Zinc helps the green beans stay bright green after you can them! Otherwise, they get a brownish green color. Great question! Thanks for watching!
Love videos like this a woman being a loving wife, and the best thing is her happiness .
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Mowing the grass looked so fun and relaxing
It is….to a point!🤣
I forgot to mention something about learning from videos like yours... My first time canning I did not realize I had the tongs upside down. I kept trying to use them like everyone else does but was dropping jars and burning my fingers - because I was grabbing the jars to stop them from slipping and falling. I was so frustrated because all the videos made it look so effortless. I thought I just need practice and brushing up my on my gross motor skills😂😂😂 imagine how embarrassed (for myself ) when I actually payed attention to a video and realized I was using them upside down. 😅 So yeah, you never know what tiny little detail in your videos can actually make a difference in someone’s life - sounds heavy, but so true😆💕 thanks again!
Thank you for sharing this! I never thought such a small part of my video would have such a big impact! But it’s good to know I am helping to make a difference! If you ever have any questions please feel free to reach out! Have a great day, God bless!
Thank you so much for all the time and effort put into making and sharing these videos with us. I really appreciate it and learn a lot along the way🤗💕
You’re welcome! I have enjoyed making the videos and sharing a small part of my life with everyone! Thanks for watching❤️
Wow I had no idea there was an electric water bath canner. TFS
Yes they are truly amazing!
How many bean plants did you grow to yield 36 quarts of beautiful beans?? Also why the zinc!?
I plants 2-40 foot rows of Roma beans and 2-40foot rows of blue lakes! I actually got 4 pickings from them, so I have 52 quarts in the freezer plus all the jars! So blessed to have gotten a bumper crop this year! The zinc is something new I tried this year. A close Amish friend of mine said she puts it in her jars to keep the beans a bright green color! It worked great!
That is AMAZING! Are these beans trellised at all? Will try that zinc to hold color!!! 😊
@@234Marla no I just did bush beans. Yes let me know how it works for you too!
What's the little black thing you're putting in there?
It is a small piece of vanilla bean☺️ I like to have a hint of vanilla in my peaches!
I've just found your channel this morning, and I absolutely love it! God bless🫶
Yay! I’m glad to have you! I hope you feel inspired! Thank you!
Free stone peaches! Beautiful jars that help me remember so much canning my mom and I did. I especially like looking at the finished jars on the shelves because although it's fairly hard work, it's work that lasts for a while. So much of a homemaker's work is for short term and must be done again and again. Meals, cleaning, laundry, dishes, doing these things is rewarding because we do it out of love and appreciation from and of family. That's why I loved canning and mending, they last! Thank you for filming and I'll be watching!😂❤❤
Thank you so much for watching! I’m so glad to know my channel is bringing you great joy! Continue to share these fond memories with me! It takes other homemakers to encourage us fellow homemakers! It is a tough job and very monotonous at times!
We lost three fruit trees to borers this year. They had just started to produce. 😢we've never had borers before, so I didn't notice until it was too late. Fortunately we have lots of local fruit available for canning.
Oh man that stinks! I am new to learning about orchards…what is borders? Thanks for sharing this advice!
@@valleyviewfarm1905 Sorry, fat thumbs! I meant borers. I've corrected it above. In case you're not familiar, they are small moths that look like hornets that bore into the bark/wood of the tree and lay eggs. The caterpillars then destroy the tree from the inside out. You'll see small boring holes in the bark and shellac-like drips that are hard. They enter through damaged bark and by the time you know you've got 'em, it's probably too late. :(
I have heard of them, but honestly have never seen them, or the damage they can cause! I can’t imagine the devastation! I’ll be praying that they don’t kill any more of your fruit trees!
@@valleyviewfarm1905 Thank you for your prayers! We appreciate them!
Also, you can make jelly using the peach skins. We don't use all the peach skins that we peel, just keep about 7 or 8 jars made for each year.
Wow I never thought of this! I love being resourceful, I will try this next time! Thank you!
I love making peach scrap jelly!
Make time to put in fruit trees. You will not regret it. Put up over 100 pounds of peaches between last month and this month. We love peach pie year round, as well as peach ice cream, and just plain canned peaches.
Thank you for your kind words of encouragement! I hope to start making plans for an orchard in the spring! You are so inspiring!
How long does it take before they have fruit?
Usually two to three years. By five years you should be getting big crops.
@@tranquillityranch thank you for replying. Not as long as I thought.
I love catching channels at the beginning of their journey and watching their growth. Stay consistent, be yourself, feed the algorithm and the subs will come ❤ Good luck to you
Wow thank you so much for all your kind words🥰
Gorgeous vid! What does your tattoo say??
Thank you so much! My tattoo says “Life is too short to wait until tomorrow” something that I live by everyday!
What is lard? What brand do you use?
Great question! Lard is rendered pork fat! It is something that old timers used to save and re use. I just buy mine at the store…I use the Armour brand from Walmart.
I have the same Baler
That’s cool! Ours is starting to get beat up!
What is the guy on the back of the square baler doing? Is he calibrating the size of the bales, watching the twine tie properly, or is he controlling the angle/tilt of the kicker/bale launcher?
He was calibrating the size of the bales, we were having mechanical issues. The baler kept breaking the shear bolt. Thanks for watching!
Should be on the wagon stacking the bails that's the work not riding around on the equipment LMAO 🤣
@@nickneeley8798lol! No worries, he had to throw them up in the hay mile after this…so I got the work out of him😂
@@valleyviewfarm1905 thanks for telling me, I was quite curious. I do love to watch these kinds of videos, and your video was excellent!
@@FarmNFixinthank you!
Those peanut butter pies look amazing, they are hard to beat and my favorite... peach looks like something from Southern Living cover!
Thank you so much!!
That peach pie with homemade ice cream looks amazing!
Thank you! My husband can attest, it was delicious!
I have to admit I've never made noodles but I've thought about it. I know they have to be so much better than store bought. I never even thought they could be stored in the freezer! That's a game changer. Thanks for the recipe. Subscribed!
They are delcious! Once you start making them, you won’t stop trust me! Yes just make sure to let them dry good, and then put in freezer bags! Super easy way to have fresh noodles! Thanks for subscribing! Let me know how it goes for you!
@@valleyviewfarm1905 Thanks. I will.

I always heard you should work cattle together before you get married, so you can see the full extent of each others vocabulary, lol! ...dinner looked delicious!
Haha! I needed a good laugh today, thank you for sharing lol!
You so Gourgous Marry me💍
Do you ferment the grain so they can better absorb the nutrients? Or is that just something you do for fowl
Great question! We do not ferment the grains, however I know people that do!
Millie is the best helper. ❤
She really is! We love her so much!
Great job on your meat bird project. On your next project you might try pasture raised birds. Consider Joel Salatin chicken tractors, Suscovich chicken tractors, or Sheraton Park Farm for some good suggestions on pasture raised meat birds. They say better meat flavor lower feed consumption. Thank you for the job well done.
My husband and I were just talking about trying that. I figure it would be better ventilation too! Thank you for the tips!
I just have laying hens now, but am thinking about meat hens. Thank you for the info!
If you enjoy your laying hens, you will really enjoy the meat chickens! Let me know how it goes!
I live how the two men look when shes explaining @ 1:22 their poses looks like kids listening to their mom explaining a task they would rather not do.
Haha! That is so true! Love this comment!
Got that diamond ring all up in them guts chick😮😮 UA-camwill know your married without it while butchering 😊😊😊
Awesome! I can't belive that your channel isn't more popular. Just as informative & cool as any other homesteading channel. ✌🏼
Thank you! I am currently trying to grow my channel, but it is taking longer than I anticipated! I appreciate your kind words!
I doubt if they are gonna fit in the kill cone when you butcher them.(If you're using a kill cone)
Yikes…I was planning to use a kill cone lol! Any suggestions on what I should do instead?
@@valleyviewfarm1905 you can maybe try the Turkey kill cone..if you feel they're too big.
Great thanks for the tip! I appreciate it!
@@valleyviewfarm1905 This is going to be my first time too😅😅. Mine will be ready For the butcher by next week. I am making my kill cone for the home depot bucket 😂.
