Why yes. It is the City And County Of Honolulu New Way Sidewinder truck. I bet this was filmed before the truck got the City And County Of Honolulu logo for the final product.
Funny enough on Wednesday one picked up my trash i woke up in time to see it drive up the road. In Hawaii Kai the trucks come way to early to film most often.
You can see a part of the rotor is already bent. That's unfortunate...
I learned a bit more about what our sidewinder is doing, the Mac air valve for the tailgate is being activated when the blade returns when auto pack is on, which is why it feels like the engine is about to die, since the tailgate is one of the things that must have fast idle on to operate. Now just need to find out what and why the tailgate is being told to close for those few moments
+busmansonny It could be moisture in the gray control box. Some time ago there was a service bulletin, if you have the plastic version of the box, check to see if the pins on the inside bottom are exposed. The service bulletin had epoxy to cover those pins. Otherwise, I would check the wiring behind panel where the controls and valves are mounted.
Boy could I use some help with my sidewinder..., only when auto pack is on, the pack blade strains the engine and pump on the return trip. When you use the manual pack switch, the blade operates great. Our shop and new way dealer still scratching their heads... Any help would be great
+busmansonny It could be the extra speed, the autopack revs the engine. Does it act the same way if you rev the truck when using the manual button?
It does do it if the fast idle is on, however with the fast idle on, it seems to get a head start on the load so it doesn't seem as bad. We have another truck that does it on auto pack but only when it initially starts retracting.
Unfortunately without seeing it in person, its very hard to say. I'd have the dealer call in.
