Matt Jones & Sam Reynolds Vs Wales. ‘The (Im)practical Welsh Roadtrip’
Have you ever scrolled through Instagram only to come across a shot of your favourite mountain bike mounted to the top of a super car and asked yourself… “why”? There is no denying that many riders share a love of fast cars and bikes, but is it really a practical pairing?
We decided to set the record straight and find out once and for all if supercars are actually suited to the lifestyle of a mountain biker. It’s a question that can only be answered by two people we can think of… Matt Jones and Sam Reynolds.
Known for their freeride and slopestyle exploits, both riders have a massive appreciation for fast cars. Their love of super cars and passion for bikes have made them the perfect fit for invisiFRAME and XPEL’s mission to #protecteverything, but can you really use a super car as an everyday mountain biker?
‘The (Im)practical Welsh Roadtrip’ documents 3 days and a whole load of challenges for Matt and Sam to complete. Can they prove to the world that their 4-wheel and 2-wheel passions work in harmony? They certainly think so…

We need to know which trails these are, great video
Monster x RedBull
I wish this was a whole series! lol what an edit guys
Absolutely love this! Sports cars and mtb are an awesome combo. I used to daily a 996 911 with a legit roof rack. Throw the bike up top and riding gear in the front trunk and rip through the gears getting to and from the trail! We need more of this kind of content 🤘
Came here from Sam's video. You two need to collab' more often. Top G's.
Hello, great video and instruction. Can I ask, I have quite a few bubbles, the invisframe has been on a week, can I peel back the film and reapply solution to squeegee out the bubble? what is the best way to unpeel the film? many thanks
great vid loved it
My nan can do that
So your nan is batter then you clearly
Best thing ever....top works chaps!
This is brilliant. Love "The Producer" cameo as well. All Hail the Egg.
Love it! 😂❤ Warner as the gaffa too 😂🎉
4:17 Thats cool Rob Warner is now a producer
Out of curiosity. If you had no support van and only had the cars, where would you put your front wheel. Is the frumk / luggage compartment big enough. Good video as well
First of all I don’t know what you’re talking about, 😂 and second it doesn’t fit in the front no! passenger seat works for Matt or just behind the seats in mine!
Good edit that with the top gear kinda theme, shame there's not more Video's in general like this 👌
I enjoyed the whining from the jealous peasants in the comments on here & pinkbike nearly as much as the video. Great stuff 😁
Yes guys! Best video i've seen in awhile! OG Top Gear Special vibes for sure. More car+bike+roadtrips please!!!
Love a good bit of tongue in cheek fun from these two and that they are clearly not serious. A tip of the hat to the OG top gear we grew up watching and some shredding at the same time! These 2 have done so much, from supporting their local scene to creating world class events and brands that support and give a platform to up and coming riders. Enjoy it lads, you are grafters !
Love it. I had my enduro bike on the top of my Evora S a few times- the roof was so thin I was pretty sure it was going to get torn off by the bike! Get an induction kit and 2bular exhaust on it Sam, once you've done it you'll regret not doing it sooner 😄
Haha yes man! That’s an awesome car. That’s why I put the seasucker on the windscreen, my roof is too flexy too! I got a Milltek exhaust on there already, it’s epic!
Would actually love to see those 2 ride up Snowdon, its proper tough but super rewarding descent!!
We really wanted to! Not our day with the weather though and Dyfi was calling...
Funny twist of the Top Gear specials, good to see some light harted humor in mtb.
Geez people, those guys may actually work more than you do! You don’t know their personal lives, do you? I don’t own a car because I can’t afford one so a mtb is so out of reach for me and I don’t find this video offensive, it is just entertainment at the end of the day
Love the OG Top Gear vibes! Guessing Captain Slow got lost before the start…
Hahah i loved this video!! Proper entertainment!
This feels so utterly out of touch with the mtb community I know. You should delete this video, it's not a good look for you fellas.
A bit of humor never hurt nobody. Please keep this video up.
2 of the most successful MTB riders having fun isn't out of touch, both have clearly worked to get where they are in both business and on bikes get a grip
Out of touch, how come?
"More than you can afford, pal... Ferrari!
Ridiculous comment. I’d like more nice car and MTB content. Jealousy isn’t a good trait.
Good on ya boys!
What was the first trail call please? Love this video, so local to me.
Fun times over at Eastridge! This one was Topography - www.trailforks.com/trails/topograghy/
@ yeah I thought it was, thank you.
Great video.
Nothing says Happy Birthday like abusing the company card 😂
Haha what a video! Loved every second thanks guys and sorry Rob about the card, Fred loves his monster trucks though
No hard feelings about the card 🤣Glad you had a blast. We loved having you and Matt along for the ride!
Took me 13h. Was a pain in the *** but the result looks good. The kit was off at some pieces slightly. Will let you know which ones via email. You need to get isopropanol and the spray bottels. Many bikes alro require the removal of the crank set. You need a stand as well. Poking holes into the foil where dust or water is underneath, seems to work poorly. The cut usually is more visible that what was there previously. I don't see the healing happening as well
hehe the little twerk
wooh wooh wooh indeed !
Homie was hyped for you 🐕
Damn
F*ck gravity👌
that was sick but the bike is pregnant now
Rotating 🤙
What was that flip even called😭😭
Sick park sick run 🤙
2 months later did it myself, no experience, not a clean bike maniac, 2 sets, 23 parts for the dedicated frame set cube 160, 8 parts for the fox 38 fork, done over several days after work, i let 1 part dry before doing another close to it, started on chainstay as recommended then tried small parts, don't they are the most difficult large covers will suction to the frame and then you can squeegee them easily small parts will slip and elongate making them extremely difficult depending on frame shape (not invis fault if the bike has 6 different angles in the lenght of a thumb) I have a few small bubbles but like 6 on the whole frame and not on obvious spots and they're flat for a 1st it was easier than expected, now I wasted a lot of time because of the paint, my bike had non varnished matte paint on dry carbon (thus the invis treatment) the colored parts zero problem...the dry matte black paint Cube used, a nightmare it slipped so much couldn't use the squeeegee and had to "massage" the stickers in place that's where my bubbles are, another problem I had was the fox38 fork it has a small "spine" under the air release button and thus the tubes are slightly conical could not get rid of bubbles on the highest part of the spine below the button keeping all of that in mind, and that I redid some parts up to 5x and included cleaning the bike as shampoo leaves trails on the already done parts it took me 14hours
I went with gloss on my matte bike and regret nothing because it has some kind of "pimp my ride" glitter paint that looks green or blue depending on the angle which should never have been matte what a mistake, it looked completely bland matte but invis glossy makes it pop and greatly improved the color changing effect
Please can you advise Does the kit come with the soap solution or do I need to buy Johnson’s ? Do you soak both sides of the invis pieces ?
thanks I might bring the bike to a professional after watching this doesn't look complicated but if I didn't do my car windows tint I'm not going to do it on a more complex shape bike
I have a fun weekend planned....
I would pay a million to buy that skill if it can be brought and if I have a million dollars. 👍😂
How so you set up your Fork? And what you think about the durolux? I buy one
Great. How is the Rider?
Jail bait?
How did you not not fall 😮 you are a genius
literally zero margin for error on that run 😮
Sounds like a drone on r6
