Bobby Vee - It Might As Well Rain Until September (1963)
You really got me reelin', it's a high class feelin' When I see your eyes a-shinin', I'm on a silver linin' There can be no denyin', I feel just like I'm flyin' But when you're not around, my feet hit the ground In the juke joint with the gang, it's not the place to say 'I love you' But the moment I set eyes on you, I'm floating way above you There can be no denyin', I feel just like I'm flyin' But when you're not around, my feet hit the ground The way you walk, ah huh huh The way you talk, ah huh huh The way you smile and dance with me Makes me believe no need to grieve, there really is a chance for me When I hug you, when I kiss you, well, you know I can't resist you If you ever leave me darlin', you'll know I'm gonna miss you There can be no denyin', I feel just like I'm flyin' But when you're not around, my feet hit the ground (Instrumental, then repeat the whole song) But when you're not around, my feet hit the ground
This sounds like Rocky Road Blues by Gene Vincent.
What a crazy guitar tone, I believe them when they claim this was recorded through a long pipe
This is good, didn't realise it belonged to Marty, I thought Tommy sang it first. Thanks Steve. I think we should name Thursdays Steve & Sandra's memorabilia night ..lol .. Thanks again Steve. 😄❤
Singing the Blues was written by country singer/songwriter Melvin Endsley, but for some reason Melvin never recorded a studio version, that's a real shame because I like some of Melvins songs... Check out 'Getting Used To The Bues', 'Let's Fall Out Of Love', 'I Like Your Kind Of Love', 'I Ain't Gettin' Nowhere With You', all, and more are on my channel... Melvin had a really good voice; he contracted polio as a young child and spent his life wheelchair bound... I like Marty's & Tommy's versions equally, though my dad prefers Guy Mitchells version... More posts on Thursday... Mitchell was the first to release it as s single and his is the most well known hit...
You must be a mind reader, I love all of these, thank you so much Steve. I'm going to put them on a special playlist. 😄❤
Sorry for seeing some of your comments this late, for some reason they got withheld, I just don't know why... I check my phone two or three times a day, but the first time I check on the computer they show up in the withheld section, please don't think that I just ignore you, I would not do that with anyone that takes the time to interact.... Really pleased that you like this one, I have several by Gene on my channel, he has a nice voice and all his posted songs are good.... A couple of recommendations for Gene Summers are #1...'Nervous' (also recorded by Gene Vincent but I don't like his version) & #2... 'Taboo... I hope that you check them out and enjoy them... Take Care... Steve 🙂🙂
@ste.6026 hi Steve, just on my way to bed. I've noticed for a few months now some of my comments seem to disappear & wonder why they answer late, I think U-Tube & Google are experiencing a few difficulties. My subscriptions are all over the place, whereas before they were kept seperate, not mixed up with peoples comment's. Are well there you go, maybe they will get it sorted soon !!!! Thanks for your recommendations I will look for them tomorrow. Cheers Steve & goodnight. 😄❤
Technology, it's just great... I'm not techs biggest fan, far too many issues... I don't know if you got my feedback on 'Singing The Blues' but definitely have listen to Melvin Endsley, he's on my channel also... Speak soon...😀
Love everything about this one, great voice, catchy beat, & just love that piano. You're a genius Steve picking these good ones. 😄❤
I will give you few more in a while, I don't want to overwhelm you... Glad You liked 'Morse Code' it is a favourite of mine and a fairly recent discovery, several years ago, it was one of my first uploads, I have a more recent posting too... Unfortunately Don Woody only recorded several songs, all are good though... Billy Craddock (Gene Vincent's cousin) & Gene Summers both have plenty of good songs uploaded, we all like different things, so you may prefer some of the other songs by them...
@ste.6026 just keep them coming Steve when you can, interesting information Gene Vincent & Billy Craddock being cousins. Thanks for your company tonight, take care. 😄❤
Genes' real name is Eugene Craddock, I will post more, but only a few at a time... Hope you liked the others a little... I thought that you probably already knew 'Look for a Star', I think my mum had it but I don't know if it was that version, I know that there were other covers in the early sixties... Good Night... Speak soon...🙂🙂🙂
Gosh Steve I remember this song from way back, I think I would be only about 12 yrs old. Love it & love his voice too. Thanks. 😄❤
Very happy that you liked this one, as stated previously I knew the song but not this version...
"Oh hey" just love this one. Thanks Steve..😄❤. What a great voice, love the catchy beat too.
I don't know why I didn't comment on this one Steve, it's one of my very favourite one's of Tommy, I think it was from one of his albums, but then released as a single, still love listening to it. 😄❤
You don't have to comment, but, it is very much appreciated... I can't remember having any Tommy Steele 45's in the house but my parents did have an old 'Best Of', I'm not even sure who's it was, I don't remember either of my parents playing it... The album was amongst many gifted to me, with their old stereo... I have to confess, I did not like everything on it, but I did like most of it... This and 'A Handful Of Songs' (on my channel also) were my faves...🙂 🙂
@ste.6026 yes Handful of Songs & Singing The Blues, now you're taking me right back to my school days Steve..lo!...
@@sandradurham It's not me, just the music. both 'Handful of Songs' & 'Singing The Blues' are on the channel as well as several others... I just want you and everyone else to enjoy the artists and songs, but it brightens my life when you take the time to comment... I posted four recommendations on one of the comments, I sincerely hope that you check them out, my favourite version of 'Singing The Blues' is by Marty Robbins, his was the first recorded version, and you guessed it, it's on the channel..... 🙂🙂
This has just popped up on my front page, love listening to him, he was so good. I know he's still recording, but back then he was fantastic. 😄❤
I had a few of his 70's albums, then in about 1980 had a huge change in the type of music that I listened to... David Sylvian has been my favourite artist from the last 40 years... I'm not expecting you to know who is... Next to Ricky & early Cliff he has one of my favourite voices... Teenagers, eh!!...❤️🙂🙂
@ste.6026 just had a quick listen to David Sylvian & he has got a good, quite soothing voice, it's the first time I've heard of him. I have also been thinking how "clean cut" these singers were compared to the American Country singers, who I have loved listening to for the last 5 yrs. which was when I started tuning into U-Tube more as my husband had passed away. I especially like Waylon Jennings & he & Willie Nelson & a few others were high on cocaine for most of the time & yet how they performed was amazing, but just the opposite to your Rick Nelson's & Cliff Richard. I find it all very interesting & takes up most of my evenings, just love my music. Nite Steve..😄❤..
'Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain' by Willie Nelson is one of my favourite songs of all time... I have a fair few songs by David Sylvian on my 'The Way' channel, I don't expect you to be a fan because it is far removed from the 50's but I was just sixteen when I became a 'Japan' fan (Syvians band)... I do have another musical side to myself... Anyway, my David Sylvian recommendations are 'September', 'Silver Moon' & 'Some Kind Of Fool'... That last one is an unreleased Japan song from 1980... It is by no means mandatory to have a listen, but should you feel tempted, I would not guide you wrong... My mum liked a lot of my music, and she liked David Sylvian and Japan, she was always very up to date... 😀😀
Great uploads today, really enjoyed listening, fantastic guitar playing of Eddie Cochran. Thanks Steve. 😄👍❤🎸🎵🎼🎶🎻🎹
🙂🙂
Love the way Tommy sings this good oldie. Thanks Steve. 😄👍❤🎸🎵🎼🎶🎻🎹
🙂🙂
Just fantastic, love that piano too. First time hearing. Thanks Steve. 😄👍❤🎸🎵🎼🎶🎻🎹
Glad you enjoyed it... It was one of the first songs that I heard by Ricky... 🙂🙂
Love this one, another one first time hearing, he had a great voice. Thanks Steve. 😄👍❤🎸🎵🎼🎶🎻🎹
I have a version by Tommy Steele that I will be uploading over the next several weeks...🙂🙂
@ste.6026 will look forward to that Steve, he was one of the first pop stars I really liked, I think before Cliff & Elvis. It's amazing he's still alive. I remember way back hearing he had a heart defect & his mother used to worry every time he performed. 😄❤
@@sandradurham I did mot know that, I was aware that Billy Fury had a bad heart, but good to know Tommy is still around, as a child I loved 'Little White Bull'... 🙂🙂🙂 ... I promised to give you a few recommendations from my channel, I hope you check them out and I hope you find something new, or even something you may have forgotten... Bill Craddock - One Last Kiss, Deane Hawley - Look For A Star, Don Woody - Morse Code, Gene Summers - Almost Persuaded... Let me know if you like any of them...🙂🙂🙂🙂
"Oh gosh" this is a good one from Elvis, first time hearing it. Thanks Steve. 😄👍❤🎸🎵🎼🎶🎻🎹
I inherited Elvis Gold Records 1 from my mum... This song was my favourite on the album...🙂🙂
👍 🎶 😊❤
A very beautiful song but very sad!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
A man who never made a bad record.
So often overlooked in the history of rock'n'roll, (as an extremely talented musician), Eddie Cochran's contribution to the genre must never be underestimated. Thanks for keeping his name, and music, alive for others to enjoy.
Thanks for your comments... I don't have many icons in music, but Eddie was definitely the first of only a few... I do this for the artist and the music only... Hopefully, someone will hear it for the first time and seek more, I don't want this to be just an obscure memory or worse, forgotten...🙂🙂🙂
@@ste.6026 One of the few, (in my opinion), advantages of the digital era is I get to listen to the music of my "youth", and meet people who share a similar passion. So thank you; along with youtube for supplying the platform.
Amazing song
Trivia Time: This guy went on to form a sound production company called Glen Glenn Sound Co. If you watch Star Trek Original Series you can see them in the end credits.
Nice bit of trivia, I never knew that... Will have a look the next time I view...🙂🙂

Great video and song. All Over Again is a columbia song, just letting you know
Spot on, told you I made mistakes...🙂
Just love this one. He had a great voice, loved his catchy songs. 😄👍❤🎹🎸🎵🎼🎶🎻
🙂🙂
@ste.6026 Hi Steve, I know Rick Nelson is one of your favourite's, I've just found this one on my front page "Down Along The Bayou Country" by him, I love it, thought you might like a listen, unless you already have it. You can ask UA-cam to download it. Cheers Steve. 😄❤
@sandradurham Thank you very much for considering me today... 'Down Along the Bayou Country' is a mid period favourite of mine... I'm not sure if it's on my Ste or TheWay channels, but definitely on TheWay channel, possibly both... Rick is my favourite artist of all time, from 1957 to 1985, I love almost everything he did, very consistent... As you mentioned about Cliff and his calming effect, well I get the same from Ricks voice... Nice to be in your thoughts, thank you....❤😊
@ste.6026 Goodnight Steve. 😄❤
@@sandradurhamNight...😊😊
This was either released sparingly by Sun Records Memphis or put in their back files. "Shake It Up" LPs had this released by Pickwick as by Conway Twitty. Unfortunately, the end was cut short by fade-out on this UA-cam version.
Thanks Steve for reminding me of these good ones, just listen to that great piano, love it. Enjoyed listening. 😄👍❤🎹🎻🎶🎼🎵🎸
Love this one too. Don't know how I missed these good ones, or why I didn't comment !!!!! Thanks Steve. 😄👍❤🎹🎻🎶🎼🎵🎸
Little Boy Blue, Tear Stained Letters & Juliet also very good by Huelyn... I'm not sure if he made the charts in the UK... Not my favourite version of 'Little Boy Blue' but I cannot remember the version I prefer, I will have to check....🙂🙂🙂
Jerry Arnold is my preferred version of 'Little Boy Blue', as per usual, it's on my channel... I will try and make a small list of songs & artists that I think you will like, all will on my channel...🙂🙂🙂
@@ste.6026 awe, you are so kind & thoughtful, thanks Steve. I will still be delving into your channel from time to time. Ttyl. 😄❤
"Wow" this is a good one, I love it. Thanks Steve. 😄👍❤🎹🎻🎶🎼🎵🎸
❤️🙂
Great song.
Glad you like it...🙂
Hi Steve, just been listening to your playlist of this gentleman & this is definitely my favourite, I love it, especially the great beat & the sound of that good old piano, just fantastic. 😄❤
Glad you liked it, 'The Man Who Made An Angel Cry' is also a favourite of mine... Sanford actually wanted to do more uptempo music like 'Modern Romance' but was pushed in the other direction... Thanks for taking a listen... The original demo of 'Modern Romance' by Huelyn Duvall is very good as well...Huelyn is a favourite of mine, especially songs like 'Friday Night On A Dollar Bill', 'Three Months To Kill' and 'Life Begins At 4 O'clock'... I believe Huelyn also did some demos recorded by Gene Vincent... Again I have most of Huelyn Duvall in his prime on the channel... Enjoy the names you don't know, there was so many good artists in the fifties that never made it to household names, mostly because they was with smaller labels that couldn't promote them, and not everyone had the looks of Elvis & Ricky Nelson... Explore, I know you will, I try very hard to mostly upload the good... ❤🙂🙂🙂
@ste.6026 Good morning Steve, I will definitely take a look at everything you mention. Thanks very much, hope you enjoy your weekend. Ttyl. 😄❤
Your channel is a treasure, thanks for uploading so many great songs.
Thank you very much. My channel is nothing if nobody tunes in... 😀🙂
Lovely clear recording of Cliff singing this one, love it. His voice is so calming. Whenever I used to feel a bit low, I would play Cliff & the sound of his voice would pick me up. Thanks Steve. 😄👍❤🎻🎶🎼🎵🎹🎸 PS. Great collection today, love the Johnny Cash one & Everly Bros. too.
I'm happy that you like them all☺️☺️... I inherited more Cliff 45s from my mum than any other singer... I love Cliff's voice, if I could have just one singers voice, it would be Cliff's mid 60's voice... 🙂
@ste.6026 yes Steve, that's when I liked it too. I bought every 45 rpm that came out. Me & my friend even joined his fan club. I first saw him and the Shad's at The Globe Theatre Stockton, when I was fourteen, there was a group of us went, mostly girls in my class. You could hardly hear him singing for all the screaming going on. Great days Steve. 😄❤
@sandradurham I remember my mum telling me of seeing Cliff & the Shadows, I seem to remember her saying either 1961 or 1962... My dad did not like him at all, I guess that is why from Cliff to ELO is why I always liked mums music... Still, I got Sinatra and Marty Robbins from him... 👻👻
@ste.6026 funny you should mention that Steve about your Dad, because my husband didn't like him either, although when we were courting he did take me to see Cliff at The Sunderland Empire, but he liked the Shadows, so it sort of balanced out. His favourite was Lonnie Donnegan, I liked him too. 😄❤
One artist I liked on my dad's side was Lonnie Donegan, I remember playing my dads 'Tops with Lonnie' lp a lot... Initially as a little boy, I liked the album cover, it was Lonnie sat on the floor playing with several spinning tops... Happy memories, I sometimes even remember the smells...❤
What a fantastic voice, little bits of the sound of Elvis. First time hearing this song. Thanks Steve. 😄👍❤🎻🎶🎼🎵🎹🎸
Elvis was my #1 growing up, that was until my mum introduced me to Eddie... She got a Eddie Cochran double lp out of the library, and I was an instant fan, I found my first idol... It turned out that my mum had got Eddie mixed up with Gene Vincent... She saw them both in Sheffield 1960, I will be forever jealous...🙂🙂
Oh, oh, just fantastic, love it. Thanks Steve. 😄👍❤🎻🎶🎼🎵🎹
"Oh gosh" love this one. I remember it playing as we were going round on the waltzers at fairground. Thanks Steve. 😄👍❤🎻🎶🎼🎵🎹
@sandradurham Glad you like it, it was one of my mums old 45's that I played a lot as a young boy...🙂
One of his best
First time hearing this singer & song & I love it. His voice is very similar to Rick Nelson's. Thanks Steve. 😄👍❤🎻🎶🎼🎵🎹
My pleasure...🙂🙂
@sandradurham I have several others by Sanford on the channel, all are good...🙂
@@ste.6026 thanks Steve I'll take a look later. 😄❤
@sandradurham I hope you do... My own pick is 'Modern Romance'...
Brilliant 👍 😊❤

Nicely done
Thanks!... Glad you enjoyed it...🙂
Genius rock pioneer and blues master
Absolutely...🙂🙂🙂
I wrote an additional verse for when I do it .... Staggerrin' Willie went for the gun, hopped on a horse and away he run, clippin' an' a cloppin' on out through the corn, screamin' and a shoutin' "My money's gone" (chorus)
That's great! 🔥
One of my favorite ballads by Gene
This song is bada**
I love this song to death NOW but when I first heard this on Elvis first RCA album on CD i didn't like it too much but I found myself tempted to give it a few more tries and now I love it like crazy just like everything else Elvis :)
I,m not entirely sure, but I believe RCA added other instrumentation to their released version, I have only listened once,a long time ago and did not like it... I love the original Sun version... I am happy that you have continued to listen, I truly hope that you find plenty to like and some that you haven't heard before... 🙂🙂

His name is Sedaka, not Sadaka at least that's how it's spelled on my collection of CDs and box sets I have of him. But great video and song.
Nothing unusual with me making mistakes, I did not catch that when uploaded... Obviously I know how to spell 'Sedaka', but, I at least I got it right on my art work in the video... I am very much a flawed individual, as you come across more of my uploads, you will discover that mistakes are aplenty, please don't beat me up too much for them, I am dyslexic and notoriously bad at proof reading, but it is only the music that counts...🙂 ... Title now rectified... I don't care too much about mistakes in the titles as they can be fixed, it is mistakes in the videos that are embarrassing, some of them are glaringly obvious... I hope you care enough about the music to find them all...🙂🙂
@@ste.6026 I wasn't trying to beat you up I was just letting you know no hard feelings
@jonathan19947 Never thought about it that way, apologies if my reply came across anything other than having a jibe a myself... Hope you enjoy further exploration of my channel, you are more than welcome and appreciated... If I have made an error somewhere, it's ok for you to point that out... 🙂🙂🙂
Just had to tell you that this is my very favourite of all your uploads of Rick, I play it every day, just listening now before I go to bed. Good night Steve. PS it's one of his recordings I never had in my collection. 😄❤

@@ste.6026 Hi Steve, just thought I'd let you know I've just been listening to "The Very Thought Of You" album, which this song came from. I noticed you had mentioned it in your description of the song. It's an absolute "gem". I think its amazing the way he sings some of the classics as if they were his own. I just love his style of singing. Such a shame he was taken away so young. Anyway Steve enjoy your weekend & the clocks will be going back on Sunday, oh gosh the days will be getting shorter. Take care. 😄❤
