Thanks! Gravel in asphalt rallies is usually not that spectacular, but there was some real action here! Unfortunately the video is falling in between the algorithm a bit due to 2 other videos it is working with 😄 Luckily not all gravel was scrapped due to the weather, we don't have this in Belgium so we had to visit some! 😀

Inderdaad, en nog snel ook, stond 2e na deze proef, helaas uitgevallen met een kapotte versnellingsbak of hij had zelfs kunnen winnen! Deze mag gerust ook eens naar België komen 😀

The famous "Nacht van Achtmaal", a rare edition I think with the weather 😃 For a night video I am pretty pleased, imagine what it would have been if all competitors went by here 3 times as was originally the purpose! The excessive rain in the morning really spoiled a lot, after the stage we still had another challenge ourselves, get the car from the muddy field that was the parking (only one of 3 that was planned could even open). But all went well, we got off by ourselves and otherwise there were people to help everybody who couldn't, big thumbs up to the organisers!

Oui, en Ypres il y a des tickets "all stages" a acheter en avant, mais aussi des tickets pour 1 speciale disponible quand tu arrives sur place. Les autres rallyes en flandres c'est juste 1 tarif pour tout, aussi disponible sur place. Seulement le ORC Canal Rally (regional) est gratuite 🙂

Yes it is, im happy it was not canceled after the crash, however we were a little bit in a hurry afterwards due to the time that disappeared 😄 but the action was phenomenal!

It was not possible to do 3 complete stages, so it was this or 2 videos, it was a nice extra 🙂 and since the E30s and Lietaer had a rather high start number we opted tot do it like this, now we saw all of the historics. In the past this would probably have been a video from the separate Ypres Historic Rally 🙂

We doubted about visiting this location for several years and the visibility is not optimal, but now we discovered if we bring a ladder we can more or less see the entire gravel strip, unfortunately the hedge was not trimmed and thus longer than last year, but I'm happy how it turned out 🙂 another one we can check from our list 😄

Thanks for the comment! Yes, given how bumpy the gravel is near the end, I think the braking point was too late. It is probably possible if you are lucky not to hit a bump or compression, in this video Breittmayer also was very late to brake compared to others, but he kept the car straight. But good thing you let it slide since there was no room to correct, you could have rolled or veered into the big tree on the left, we were happy to see the outcome and to see you could complete the stage losing only about 20 seconds... Was there any damage, since you retired on the next SS, was it related to this incident?

@@riwancarpentier no not related, badly cracked brake disc, just a mechanical failure. A small amount of damage from the incident, like you say could have been a lot worse 😅

Niet vergeten, door de 5e ronde die de rally sinds dit jaar heeft is het tijdsschema heel wat krapper geworden. We waren maar net op tijd hier. Op de volgende proef heb ik ze wel net nog gefilmd 🙂
