Even if you have a private onsen, just strolling around the main town in your yukata, visiting the shops and seeing the canal and maybe going up the rope way will fill your day there. We really wanted to visit Kinosaki due to its history and picturesque beauty, we absolutely loved it 😊

It depends on the train schedules and how long you wish to stay in Kinosaki. The direct train from Kyoto to Kinosaki is a very limited (two trains in a day, I believe). There are other train options but it’s not direct, so it will also depend on how much your budget is. I would recommend using google maps, it shows all the train schedules for the day - it was very useful.

Thank you so much. So, we visited Japan between the 25th October to the 4th November and the two days in Kyoto and Kinosaki onsen was on the 31st Oct to 1st Nov - so at the very start of the autumn season for Kyoto/Tokyo ☺

@@Songbirdstress We really wanted to visited Ine and Amanohashidate which is not far from Kinosaki but we didn’t have the time 😣🙈 Please let us know what it’s like if you have the chance to visit, we’d love to know. So, we visited this Kinosaki on the 31st Oct to the 1st Nov ☺️

@@HappilyEverFamily Thank you. I'm not sure I'll be able to follow in your steps after all because I forgot Takada :). I'm now at a point I can't reasonably extend my stay longer longer (although, I'm sorely tempted :)), but this town looks so beautiful and the views are amazing. I'm going in April.

@@HappilyEverFamily Actually not this April, next April :) I'm planning on catching Sakura at Himeji and Hakodate, and, if elsewhere, so much the better. But I might avoid in other places to escape crowds :)
