Yes, this is a factory setup. Is your car a 4-Matic? These cars are famous for the strut mounts breaking as well. Look it over carefully.

@ it is, it’s a super clean car I haven’t noticed any rust at all fortunately but yeah when I took the strut off the LCA it shot down and forward, jammed and I had to pull the spindle to get it out because of the swaybar tabs on the LCA got in the way. I did it like a Honda and it fu. Cked me it seems. Your spring looks held up, and tight. Mine won’t stay in the mount w/o a strap and the spring is over 1 foot long and the axle can’t contour enough to make sense. Idk what I did wrong but my spring went boing and yours didn’t lol

I'll try to get it back inside this week and maybe get some other pics. I also did a video on changing the axle in this car on the same side. It might offer some more information on what's missing.

Yes, but as a lover of these cars, I often asked why Porsche guys are ok to drive cars at this point in their life, but Mercedes guys are rather snobbish about "outlaw" style cars. I just like to save as many as I can.

I am happy to have saved this one from the crusher. It sat out at a local dealer for at least 7 years. Relegated to the back lot, grown up in weeds, and the salesman had forgotten about it when I asked. I like how simple and straightforward it is.

I have actually owned it about 4 years. I bought it in 2020 and kinda daily drove it for a while. It just got to the point it needed a bunch of stuff, so we went all out. We didn't film it because there is so much E36 content. I probably should have though.

I usually put the red one away in the winter. I think it's going to need a water pump in the spring. As it's leaked a small puddle. The green one is on the back burner because I really want it to be awesome. These marketplace cars are kinda to keep my mind occupied.
