Therapist Reacts To a Supernanny Episode- 3-year-old Who Will Eat Only Sweets
What happens when a 3-year-old faces multiple challenges-like refusing potty training, being an extreme picky eater, and showing significant behavioural issues? Join me, an occupational therapist, as I dive into an intense Supernanny episode that brings these real-life struggles to light.
In this video, I break down:
Potty Training Delays: Why some kids resist, the role of developmental milestones, and strategies to help them gain independence.
Picky Eating Habits: How sensory preferences, anxiety, or control battles can fuel mealtime struggles, and practical tips to encourage a balanced diet.
Behavioural Issues: Exploring root causes like attention-seeking, sensory overload, or unmet needs, and how to address them effectively.
As an occupational therapist, I’ll analyse the techniques used in the show, sharing insights into childhood development, emotional regulation, and fostering positive behaviour changes. Whether it’s addressing fussy eating, managing tantrums, or setting clear expectations for potty training, this episode offers a wealth of knowledge for parents, caregivers, and professionals alike.
By the end of this video, you’ll gain:
Practical strategies to implement at home.
A deeper understanding of how therapy-informed approaches can complement parenting techniques.
Tips for handling challenges that may stem from underlying conditions like ADHD, autism, or sensory processing difficulties.
Let’s learn together from this fascinating case study and work towards supporting children as they navigate big developmental hurdles!

Hello, yes seems that she has low muscles. You can join me live every Wednesday at 7:30 pm Europe time, and I could show you some exercises to improve )
There is no research showing that these exercises help with feeding. But we have research for decades showing that these exercises have no affect on speech. Please use your platform for evidence-based information. ua-cam.com/video/QyI94-V617w/v-deo.html

My daughter grinds her teeth excessively and she doesn't chew food she refuses to use her teeth the bite food. Which technique you think would benefit her most? No difficulty swallowing or anything
She would definitely benefit from strong chewy tubes, and oral motor exercises. Massages from outside and inside of the mouth. Join me on every Wednesday 7:30 pm Europe time , I go live and I can show you some techniques)
Thank you!
Hi Mam.My 3 year old boy .....he doesn't chew well food and also no food control. How can i control ?
Hi, join me during live every Wednesday 7:30 pm Europe time, I always answer the questions in live and can show some practical examples of how to manage )
What about a child who does not look at what he is working on
Check yesterday’s live , I spoke about your question! But in a short resume we have to make sure your child is regulated and the tasks that are presented to him/her are simple, easy and fast to accomplish.
Hi, Check your email.
Guapa 😘
Gracias 😘
Give me kit please I am very poor my child is sleeping child not a speech
I am sorry to hear that, sometimes there are giveaways, however best you check with the company who fabricates them- arktherapeutics.
I experience discomfort while speaking, especially with words that include the 'd' or 't' sound, as my tongue hurts. I feel like my tongue is solely responsible for speaking, with no tension felt in my lips. It seems like total control during speech is solely on my tongue. Could you suggest some exercises to correct this problem?
Did you check this with the speech therapist? I would suggest you to find someone who specializes in oral motor skills! General face massage outside and inside of the mouth can help you.
If my kids is 8 years old still can use this excesize
Yes:) of course!
Thanks
Welcome
Hi what is name ?
For what exactly? In general is z-vibe
From what age could I use this tool on my Down syndrome, baby? I was thinking of using it just before introducing solid food. She would be 6 months old.
Great idea! You can go ahead and:) while you introduce solid food you can continue practicing these exercises!
