This is what I mean when I say we have to learn through fun and creativity. This is how we get to be proficient in a second language. This is how we get to the next level. One of the exercises I love doing with my students is translating songs from English to Hebrew. Translating is a fascinating thing and you can learn a lot from it. We worked, with my lovely student, Michelle Erdman, who is do...

I had the pleasure and the privilege to have a conversation and a Hebrew lesson with one of my favorite students. To see Patrick's process From someone who barely spoke Hebrew but still did amazing theater in Hebrew in our class, to someone who speaks, understands, communicates in excellent Hebrew This is happiness for me.

One of the best ways to learn Hebrew
Переглядів 8053 місяці тому
One of the best ways to learn Hebrew is through a short story. This is one of the ways we learned our mother tongue. It is not enough to just listen to the story. There must be mediation of some of the words And the rest - our brain slowly associates. Therefore, in addition to the story, I wrote to you, And in addition to a little animation of the story for fun I also wrote certain words in Heb...

Thanks for your work.! Saludos from Mexicali México.!
Wow, Mexico, that so cool! Thank you very much 😍
I definitely will be watching this again and taking notes of the phrases. The Tsunami bit, when you opened the umbrella, had me laughing so much. I’m so glad I am able to participate in your online course although I know your theatre class in Tel Avi would be the ultimate Hebrew learning experience.
Wow, thank you so much dear dear Janet! I hope to see you in Israel one day and hope to have you in our theater group as well. I'm so glad that I got to know you ❤
This is how I was first introduced to the language; through music.
Awesome, that's a great way 😍
And then you made me weep…love to you all!!
I know, I'm sorry. These are very hard times. Sending you love and thnak you for your words ❤
Great explanations, dear Noa!!!!!xxxxxx
Thank you very much 😍

Yes HaShem bring them Home! Praying for them every day from Canada. Very nice lesson.
Thank you dear! keep praying please. ❤
I LOVE your unique lessons! Not like other "typical" lessons! Have question if you dare to answer!..How come nobody seems to "know" how to pronounce God's name?! I call bullshit! It's 4 letters. we know these letters! So is it...Yahweh? Yahuah?.. YeHoVaH ( which I think) or what?? Thank you! You rock! 😊
😳
First of all thank you for your kind words 🙂 it means a lot. To answer your question, we know how to pronounce that name which is one of the names, but we don't do it as respect to God. Kind of like we don't call our Mom and Dad by their names.
I belong to a Reform congregation in NJ, and we sing this song many times at the beginning of the service, especially nowadays. It's very beautiful and moving.
Wow, that is so beautiful, thank you for sharing it with me. And yes, it gets a special meaning these days ❤
Stage Fright is overcome when you are confident you know more than your audience on your topic.
Not necessarily. Some people know a lot and still have stage fright. I can tell you for sure that I speak English with people whose English is much better than mine, and I have no fear. You don't have to know everything to gain confidence 🙂
Ya'totach!!!
Ah this is good way of learning , i understand only if the speaker is fast i cant catch it up because i cant hear much the distinction or difference of words. Thanx
Shalom! Noa aha i need to know more word meaning inorder for me to understand. But one of my problem is how to use linking verbs or just simply to how to make into statement (some hebrew linking words are being use connected with the word already like " ani lazot caffe") rightly it is where my hebrew fails ? Which i thought it suppose to be " ani laazor lakh lakakhat caffe"? ( i dont know how to say or use in hebrew "take a cup of caffe"). Hehe
אין עלייך! אני חושבת שעברתי מדוברת מאד מאד חשובה לדוברי שפה אחרת, אם באמת רוצים ללמוד (זה כך בכל שפה, האמת... ) ההסברים שלך מצויינים! Y r the best!

תודה רבה תלמה יקרה על המילים הטובות שלך. זה חימם לי את הלב ❤
Hello. Im a beginner and I noticed you pronounce the a vowel in טעים like a schwa (ə) instead of the textbook way of an open unrounded central vowel (a). I.e. you say the vowel very differently to the a in מה. Is it common for Israelis to use the schwa?
What can i do in order to read Hebrew without niqud??? (the vowels)
There are different ways but one simple is just to take books that you know and read and read them again with no Nikud
One of my favorite songs. ❤❤❤❤ Todá!!!!!
Cool 😀 yes, it's a great song
I may have to watch this video a few times. אולי אצטרך לצפות בסרטון הזה כמה פעמים.

איזה כיף, תודה רבה 💜
Shalom Noa thanks you spoke to my heart .Everything you said is true for me. Will watch your videos .
Thank you very much for being a part of this Channel :-)
Wow, thank you for this great inspiration!
I'm so glad, thank you very much :-)
Wow!! That was incredibly beautiful and inspiring from a "Tel Aviv girl." You give me hope that all Israelis can eventually be completely united. I've been to Israel 6 times in my life so far. I do want to eventually make Aliyah. Oct 7th was an earthquake for every single Jew in the world. And if it wasn't or if you are supporting our enemies, then you don't have a Jewish soul. I've been trying to learn Hebrew for a few years now, but it's going very slowly. I just found your channel. This was very inspirational.
Thank you Emet for your beautiful words. I agree, every Jewish soul has changed and she has been in so much pain since October 7th but she also lit up and I think we all remembered our identity and essence and that is very exciting. It's very exciting that you want to make Aliya, I hope that you will. Yes, sometimes it takes time to learn Hebrew, everyone at their own pace. Don't give up, keep up the good work - I know you will learn and succeed 💜
I’m glad I’ve found your page, Noa. You’re a great teacher and I love the passion you have not just for Hebrew, but for language learning. תודה רבה לך!
Thank you so much for your kind words - תודה רבה לך💜

Words of encouragement you have. Such a pleasure listening to you. I wish I had you as teacher. I've been learning Biblical Hebrew and Modern Hebrew. It's a challenge for sure. I watch alot of UA-cam videos. I'm glad I ran across you. I'm a musician. Love music. It's a part of my life. Writing words to songs can be a challenge. Teaching Hebrew through music is interesting. I hope that you continue to do so. I'd love to learn the Hebrew language with you as a teacher. Shalom!
Hi Tony, yes, music is life and I can absolutely tell you that a lot of my English comes from music. As a musician, you can use your ear, listen a lot, and learn Hebrew through it. Your ear is your superpower :-) Thank you for your kind words, I will do more lessons through music and I hope to help you as much as I can here in this channel. 💜 Keep on the good work of learning, after every challenge there is a big gift, you are on your way
מגניב מאוד 🎉 תודה רבה מברזיל

Ein alayech. You are the best!
Thank you so much dear Ruth, אין עליך גם! 🙂
Hey noa, is Biblical Hebrew easier to understand once I know Ivrit? 😊
Oh, that's a great question. My answer has two parts. Yes, because when you learn Hebrew you can read the Torah in Hebrew and understand the words you read. It's the same language. In the Torah, of course, we have some ancient Hebrew as well, but all in all, it is clear to those who know Hebrew. But, and this is important - understanding the Torah is the work of a lifetime. The hidden meanings, the Torah is written in a very, very concise and precise manner. There are interpretations and deep spiritual learnings. So one can understand what they read, but can they understand the meanings? This depends on how much one deepens in learning and if one finds good spiritual teachers.I will say though if you want to learn the Torah and really learn it it can really only happen in Hebrew. I've seen translations and it's not even close. 🙂
@@Hebrewinthespotlight thank you for your detailed answer. my life will be dedicated to Torah study. I have been learning hebrew for half a year now and visited your beautiful country 3 times in 2023. a nefesh yehudi can`t be stopped, beezrat hashem ;)
@@blonderover 😃🙌
Adam. Adam’s name means “man.” As the first man that seems straight forward. Seth. Adam’s son was Seth, which means “appointed.” Enosh. Seth’s son was Enosh which means “mortal, frail, or miserable.” Kenan. Enosh’s son was Kenan, which means “sorrow.” Mahalalel. Kenan’s son was Mahalalel which means “blessed or praise.” “El” means God. Combined, his name means “Blessed God.” Jared. Mahalalel’s son was Jared, which comes from root verb “yaradh”- “shall come down.” Enoch. Jared’s son was named Enoch, which means “teaching, or commencement” Methuselah. Enoch’s son Methuselah, comes from two words. Muth means “death”, shalach “to bring” Combined, Methuselah’s name means “his death shall bring” Lamech. Methuselah’s son was Lamech, a root still evident today “lament(ation)” Lamech means “despairing.” Noah. Lamech’s son is Noah which is derived from “nacham” -“to bring relief, comfort” Put It All Together: Adam Man Seth Appointed Enosh Mortal Kenan Sorrow Mahalalel The Blessed God Jared Shall Come Down Enoch Teaching Methuselah His Death Shall Bring Lamech The Despairing Noah Rest or Comfort “Man is appointed mortal sorrow; but the Blessed God shall come down teaching that His death shall bring the despairing rest or comfort.” HERE IS THE GOSPEL MESSAGE HIDDEN WITHIN THE GENEALOGY IN GENESIS! The Hebrew language is truly Divine ! It all points to Yeshua.
Thank you Noa. A lovely video. I am from Melbourne, Australia. I too pray that the hostages will be returned home.
Thank you very much, every prayer means the world and has an immense power. I love Australia, I have family there. Chag sameach 💜

@@Hebrewinthespotlight I took your advice and watched an Israeli movie. The first one that popped up in my search. I found it to be somewhat disturbing. The movie is titled "Broken Mirrors". It was good practice, thank you.
Shalom Noa Your message is more than appropriate at this time The prophets of Israel wrote that the Land of Israel is the centre of the universe, the last book of the Christian bible speaking about heaven came down by Jerusalem coming down And the language in heaven, guess what people speak in heaven? You are right it’s Hebrew!!! הללויה !!! May the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel richly bless you and keep you and make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you and give you shalom peace
Thank you, dear friend. May we see the light shine and win over the darkness. God bless you 💜

Toda raba, Noa. An inspiring message! From an Irishman who has tried to promote out traditional language, Irish (Gaelic). We have so much to learn from the success of Hebrew. For 5 years at the UN in Vienna I sat beside my Israeli colleagues, Merav and Ronen, and heard the beautiful Hebrew every day. Though I am now Jewish, I absolutely love the sound of Hebrew, and will eventually learn it properly. Chag Pesach sameach lach, dear Noa.
Wow, Toda Raba dear Sean. It's so nice to know we have friends from all over the world. I hope and wish you a lot of success in reviving Gaelic 💜
