MV Lady Herron - SCRAPPING UPDATE [PART 12] GRAND FINALE
Переглядів 7337 місяців тому
The day has finally come. Today I post the final Lady Herron scrapping update…. Today there is absolutely nothing left… The once beautiful Sydney Ferry has been reduced to nothing... Over the past few weeks I have been hard at work capturing as much of the scrapping as possible… Its been a long journey full of emotions but it was so important to capture this event. From the start of her scrappi...
listening to her horn still gives tingles
I’m ready for narrabeen to reenter sev in 2025😊
The Collaroy definitely had the right of way here. No idea what the master of the other boat was doing. It wouldn't surprise me if they had to answer to the harbour master after that.
These vessels could be useful in the hawksberry river or at Penrith on the neapon
I do not know why but that Supercat u passed is called superflyer
This is the third river cat to retire and also what’s followed by the river cat retirements
well not every lady is lucky enough to get tugged for her 50th
Great Intro!
Happy birthday to the lady Northcott
Who is that NPC on the bow
I can see you, Ben. You’re on the bow.
Great update Ben
Been on the manly ferry numerous times whilst visiting Sydney from axminster devon and got caught up in a storm coming back to circular quay one of the times I'd felt really frightened but looking at this film quite spectacular. If you are in fremantle wa try rottnest ferry when it's stormy
hi Ben great video of the Lady Northcott Wirawi see you tomorrow regards geofflanes
Excellent footage Ben . See you tomorrow.
Rip a legend
Thanks for sharing Ben
Just the sort of weather my grandmother would have relished.
ahhhh... i miss the collaroy bad. only got around 4 or 5 rides on that thing, mostly got freshwater.
I've honestly probably watched this 50 times or more. Collaroy was simply the best (other than Narrabeen ofc). I hope she returns.
Courage pour ces marins qui affrontent la mer avec des vagues aussi importantes.
the emeralds are lit change my mind
Yup. Emerald gen 2s are a pile of fard.
Oh my god
6M? 2 clicks above cat's paws.
Hi, how can I check the timetable for ferry retirements? Is there public info somewhere, because I’d like to see the last services of some of them before they’re gone for good 😢
You know what I’m going to try to save the river cats I’m going to go to the to the town mp
And do what with them??? Do you have any idea about the cost of maintaining them, or running them? These are *VERY* heavy on marine-grade diesel fuel. They have (and look this up) twin 8V91 GM ("detroit diesel") engines in them. This is why they flew!
@@tobys_transport_videos I know my idea is firs I know where to put them and second I know with the diesel my idea is to make more diesel and not sell it and get it back because that’s stupid but yeah anyway and I’ll look up the size
Mmm so sad to see en go 😢😢 to me it’s like with the ferry s that won’t all of en to be yellow and green
Bruh it’s been like 2 weeks since Goolagong kicked the bucket 💀💀 It’s such a shame to see these two beautiful girls be slowly taken to their deaths far from their home 😢. They’re too purpose built to be sold on to new owners, so unfortunately this is the only viable option left for them. Betty deserves to be put to rest after her long year of suffering in Blackwattle Bay, and at least Evonne gets to join her sister for one last trip together. These two great vessels will always have a place in my heart, one as the first Rivercat wheelhouse I visited (Betty) and the other as the vessel with the most memorable day on (Evonne). It hurts to see Betty go especially since she was one of my first ferry wheelhouses back in 2021, however it’s nice to know that they both die so that their sisters can live (as source of parts). Farewell Betty and Evonne, you’ll be missed ❤😭
Your right it is a shame 😢
Rip Betty cut Hubert and evoone sad you will be missed they were the most magical ferries of all time
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo these two River cats are going to be scrapped, rest in peace
Is it available for bedrock?
Is it the scrapyard? 😢
Sad dude, say goodbye to that river cat
So where's the Lady Northcott these days?
It's being used as a cruise vessel by Tribal Warrior (I believe Ben works there)
Collaroy ❤
Triste vidéo pour une triste fin de ce vieux bateau qui aurait pu être sauvé de la démolition, mais en Australie la notion de patrimoine ne signifie apparemment pas grand chose !!
Don’t open the back gate do not open that
This day was amazing. My runs on the MFF before this and then this made it all worthwhile. I'll upload my footage in the next year but for now I'll keep rewatching yours. Great job Ben.
It is so sad that we've lost yet another iconic ferry. It's like they've stolen Sydney Ferries from us. As coolsoap mentioned, we've lost everything right down to Collaroy, all to be replaced with overseas bullshit. On the positive, Herron was put out of her misery in a sense that she'll now be with Street, Goola, Karrabee and many of her former running mates, sailing around in the eternal Sydney Harbour. I hope we can stop future ferries from being scrapped and here's to this one being the last. Thank you and well done on being able to photograph her week by week for months. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed and in years time, kids like us will be looking back on series' like this one. Well done Ben.
Well done Ben and mate. This is a sad ending to the last of the double-ended "Harbour Ferries." Lady Street went around 20-25 years ago (scrapped at Cockatoo Island), while Lady's Wakehurst and Northcott both somehow still live on, as do Lady's McKell and Cutler in Melbourne.
