Exploring BULOW STILL a Turpentine Ghost Town
Join me exploring the old turpentine ghost town of Bulow Still.
Located in Flagler County, Florida right off the oldest road in Florida. The Old Kings Road. This ghost town seems to be from the late 1800s- early 1900s.
Lots of remains of the past lye in the sand here. Let's go on an adventure and see this old, abandoned ghost town before development comes and changes this land forever.

Happy Cemetery Sunday....or maybe a Sad Cemetery Sunday this week. My 2nd visit to this old, abandoned cemetery in Crescent City, Putnam County, Florida. The Braddock aka Mason Denver Cemetery. The property has been sold off and the owners seem to be clearing and grading the land for a new home totally disrespecting this old cemetery and historic battle area. Check out my first video of the Aba...

Join me on an adventure walking through a swamp property for sale off Old Dixie Highway in the plantation lands of East Florida. This area is mainly muck and marsh with lots of history. I've always wanted to stop and explore this mud lot in the middle of the swamp. Found an older marble as soon as I crossed the muddy canal onto the lot! Could be a sign of the past!

What about the ones none caught
This is just awful 😔
Get yee metal detector find some coin and maybe even that dump... That carving was made when the tree was alive. The bark being curled in and such... guessing 125-150 years ago and based on the height off the ground. Tree might have died a long time ago. Cheers!
Always nice to find those skeleton keys! 💀💀💀 Ground is thawed out here so thinking I might get out tomorrow. Thanks for the dig and would like to see you get into that mound a bit more! Cheers! 🕵
Thaks for checking out my video! love the skeleton keys! I'm going back soon to dig as much as i can in that mound area. Gotta be some treasures in there!
There is a lot of unaccounted for grave sites in the area, my dad said in the sixties right off of the tomoka bridge they found a grave stone, but teenagers kept desecrating it so they removed the head stone so no one could find it again.
Yeah, I always wondered where all the graves or cemeteries were in these areas. A lot was going on...plantations, turpentine. I've heard the story of the grave by the Tomoka before. Pretty sad.
nice old snuff jar is what the amber bottle was !
You're right! I was wondering what it was. Thanks for pointing it out.
You should start seeing the carnivorous plant Butterwort Pinguicula lutea, with it's yellow flowers in those Pine flatwoods. Always looked for those in the spring.
Wow. Thanks for honoring the antecedents. 🙏
You figure the early settlers built their homes on those high sand ridges being it was before drainage ditches were dug. My dad remembers how Bunnell used to flood before the canals were dug. He also remembers cows crossing the roads. What a neat time that must have been !!!
Sand pine Pinus glauca
Lucky Find, A Herty cup in tack! That yellow flower you seen I believe was a Hypiricum, St. Johns wart, not sure about the correct spelling.
Yeah that herty cup was a neat find! Thanks for joining me on an adventure Bill!
That is wild hog country !
I sure do miss roaming around the woods of Flagler Co. and sad to say one day this area will developed.
Aww.. sidenote this title made me think of a song of a similar or same,, title from back during the late 10s.. but yeah.. so nostalgia alert.. an... oh right fwiw afterthoughtvit was early to mid? Vs the late 2010s.
I hope that owner goes to JAIL! I also walked that property a year ago !

This is heartbreaking...
Even the marker at the bottom reads "This marker was placed by the Florida Confederation for the Preservation of Historic Sites, Inc. We must keep an eye on it East Florida Explorer! I wish I could visit it, but I don't drive anymore.
I completed an online form on Friday 31 Jan 2025 to the State of Florida Historic Cemetery that this cemetery is threatened. I also left a message with County Commissioner Larry Harvey and sent him an e-mail. I found the cemetery on findagrave listed as Mason-Denver Cemetery and sent a message to everyone who created a memorial and/or posted photos or death certificates on the memorials. There are at least 20 memorials listed and 4 of them have grave marker photos. Since this cemetery seems to be created in 1865 and apparently a Civil War battle was fought there and most of the dates on the markers are over 100 years old, this cemetery should be left alone. It is illegal to sell tombstones.
Thank you for covering this. We locals are very upset over this
It's a shame to see this happening. Thank you for checking out my video. We gotta protect Florida it's disappearing fast.
This video might save this cemetery!
Thanks for going back out there to document what happened!
Thank you for joining me on this sad tour!
Just went and rewatched the OG Braddock video...I think that was the first time I caught you....Definitely a very sad Cemetery Sunday
Very Sad what's happening! Thanks for always joining me on Cemetery Sunday! You've been one of my longest subscribers! Thank you so much.
I believe this was the first time I caught Cemetery Sunday ...keep up the great work Explorer! & Thanks!!
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Florida is eat up with greedy land developers !
Sad great video
Thanks! I was sad to see what's happening!
Excellent video Explorer but this is Horrifying information! I can't believe this has happened, Everyone involved should be punished! So sad
That last end of St George is where the fire was to treasury street and yes you can notice the buildings aren't as charming. Flagler's time. Dr graham historian at Flagler mentions most people at the time thought Flagler started the fires. On old maps 10 years prior to the fires, or so, there is a huge amount of mansard french houses and windmill generators...look at old map of 1885.
You may not know it but I sleeped on those streets...almost every business....homeless 2 years...all this history is in our play I'm writing
Theses works should be indoors and Protected
I just got chillbumps..he was born on my birthday..and yes he is dummett plantation ..I'm reading up on st Francis inn...so after the dummett place was burned Thomas or Doug dummett went up to st Aug and bought or had a corner house at st George and st Francis streets ...that means down the road was the Prince Murat house on st George and bridge....later, the dummett plantation would be one Norman Harwood own, it is said where this grave is was dummett property!!!! Its getting weird
You should go explore the old Flagler Beach dump if you like old bottles.
I've been wanting to bottle hunt there for years! Guess you got to take a boat to get there now.
@@eastfloridaexplorer Yep, it sounds like you know where it's located.
Thank you so much for checking out this cemetery and giving us a tour, highlighting its significance during NE Florida's Civil War.
Thank you for joining me! Tomorrow I'm going to release a new video on this cemetery. Sad things have been happing there lately.
Very cool 😎
Thank you!
Nice Marker and Historic Site
Thanks!
Hi there! I’m a news reporter with WJXT in Jacksonville, FL. I’m wondering if you would give us permission to use this footage? We would credit your page on air and online.
Fabulous run through of the oldest city in America! Thanks Explorer!
Thank you for checking out my video! 👍🏻🤠👍🏻
Why is the bench over the tombstone ? Its just weird.
Kind of weird on old maps there was a Dutch Church there they never mention...nor the Guale Indians where we get the Gullah name in south Carolina. It's supposed to be against the law to lock up a Cemetary.
That is soooo cool! How exciting!
When I first visited St.Augustine in 1992, the gate was open and you could walk inside. I love St.Augustine, thanks for the video.
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing!
